The first thing that drew me in was the body being found in a big hole where a garage was supposed to be built that morning. Then it turns out to be the daytime weather person…… My favorite character is Stormy McCloud the main character. She is a no-nonsense type of girl who doesn’t let her name get her down. She might have issues in the relationship department due to her Mom taking off when she was young but she has major spunk. She does whatever it takes to clear her name & won’t let Chance do much without her so she knows what is happening in the case at all times. Chance Malone with ACME Investigations is awesome, too. Everyone else is in it for how this situation (murder) will further their career or to cover up the murder. I disliked Lieutenant Alan Green. He seemed to be trying to blame the murder on Stormy just so he could close the case. I understand the body was found in her yard but still – do your job. My favorite part was when Malone attempts to rescue Stormy from Mr. Adams but she had already rescued herself. I also loved when Stormy and Malone meet up with David to set him up to prove what he knew about the murder/missing stolen artifacts. I absolutely loved hearing Stormy’s side and how she thinks everything through and comes to her own conclusions. I loved all the scenarios of what Travis was killed for and why. And why he was killed outside Stormy’s house. I actually figured out part of the mystery as to who the art thief was but not the killer since their relationship was hidden. I went through all different emotions – cringing, happy, skeptical, doubtful, relief. The best quotes from the book are: Chance Malone “Well, then you must know that the innocent sometimes end up in jail.” Chance Malone “As the bible says sometimes the evil flourish like a green bay tree” The author did a wonderful job, this was absolutely a page turner. I mean how could stolen artifacts and drugs not be something that someone would kill for? My rating is 5 stars. I loved it and would love to read more like this. It took me a little to get into it but it’s really good!! I was asked to read and review this book as a favor for Karen at the Baroness’ Book Trove and I am glad that I did. ~Melissa If you would like to see other reviews like this one, check out BaronessBookTrove.com.

Stormy Weather begins well: Stormy McCloud is a likeable, sassy heroine, and when workmen come to dig a trench for a new garage beside her house and discover the body of one of her work colleagues, the scene is set for a delightful mystery. Then private investigator Chance Malone enters the picture — he’s one of the few who believe in Stormy’s innocence — and romance is also off to a good start, even though most serious conversations do end up with Chance quoting from the bible. Complications soon take over. Stormy and Chance join forces to head their own investigation, and we meet all the secondary characters — and there are a great many of them: colleagues, the spouses of colleagues, the police, the landlord, seriously bad guys, an art critic and estranged parents. Add to that drugs, stolen statues, gun fights, knockouts, a kidnapping, marital drama and a feeling of abandonment, and it all becomes quite a jumble. A jumble might please some, but there’s little refinement, and for me it did pall. By the time the mystery was solved, I didn’t really care. That left the love story. All Stormy needed to do for that to work, was start believing in God, and to agree to go to church with Chance. Which she does, of course. Which is exactly where the author was taking us right from the beginning.

When a meteorologist is involved in a murder, life gets stormy. Stormy McCloud, according to her stage name, makes her living on the weather. When the senior meteorologist, one who did not appreciate the competitions of his successor, turns up dead, Stormy becomes a suspect. How did he end up in Stormy's backyard? Was it a set up? Not wanting to risk possible imprisonment, Stormy appoints herself to help the detective on this case. Apparently, there is a slew of people that this guy dead. The challenge was trying to keep track of everybody. Sometimes, I forgot who was who. Story carried a witty dialogue and an easy pace. The investigation might have been a bit too slow and daunting, but the fact that the killer was out there was interesting enough, especially when he or she returns to the scene of the crime. And for what? To settle a score with Story? Overall, this was an easy read with some lagging areas. An okay mystery.

STORY-LINE STORMY WEATHER: Author Glen Ebisch's mystery suspense crime novel, Stormy Weather is a first-rate thriller. Stormy McCloud, resident meteorologist, finds herself involved in murder, mayhem, theft, and possibly romance. Stormy as the new junior weather girl, has acquired a lot of fans and received fan mail due her popularity. However head meteorologist, Travis Lambert, finds her fame threatening. Rude, self-centered, and vain, Travis threatens Stormy with dismissal. Things are not happy at the local television station. A place full of personalities, back biting, stabbing, and lies. When a contractor discovers Travis body buried on Stormy's property, she's in big trouble of the legal kind. Murder, mayhem, and suspicion ensue. Enter stage right, our hero, Chance Malone, Bible verse quoting Private Detective. Hired by the station manager to look into the murder, Chance and Stormy embark on an adventure of up and downs, lies, thieves, criminals, and murderers. Grab a comfortable seat, my mystery suspense criminal novel review of Stormy Weather follows. CHARACTERS, PLOTTING, DEVELOPMENT: Primarily a mystery suspense novel, Ebisch, included just enough romance to peak the readers interest. In Stormy Weather, the reader finds an intriguing story-line filled with worthy villains. Ebisch wove many plot threads together to form a solid cohesive novel of suspense and thrills. With twists and turns around very corner, the suspense is kept at its highest peak throughout the book. The character development was solid as the reader finds a station full of suspects. Which ones are the real culprits? Ebisch expertly reveals the culprit or culprits at just the correct moment to keep the reader glued to the novel. Developing two characters which seemed polar opposites, yet, had more in common than they realized, Ebisch wets the reader appetite with romance. Chance, a faith-based Bible verse quoting P. I. and Stormy with a non believers attitude and past relationship problems, would not typically be your normal romantic couple. However, Ebisch, weaves romance around them expertly. Finally, in concluding my mystery suspense criminal novel review of Stormy Weather, I found a solid story-line, well-written, with well-developed characters, and plot lines which will hold the readers interest. I found at one point, the story slowed but quickly picked up speed again. The author held the culprits close to his chest and do not reveal the identifies until the last moment. STORMY WEATHER RECOMMENDATION: Stars 4 I would not hesitate to buy this book for my self or a friend. I look forward to reading other works from the talented pen and imagination of Glen Ebisch. FINALLY, PLEASE NOTE: Additionally, I received this book from the author and chose to voluntarily review the book with an honest mystery suspense novel review. Lastly, book reviews of any novel are dependent on the book review author’s opinion. Consequently, all book reviews on-line and on my blog, are my opinions. In addition, the ARC did not affect my mystery suspense novel review.

Story Weather indeed! Murder, mystery, and mother! Things are very complicated for Stormy McCloud. I really liked this story and its premise. This story revolved around a murder of Travis, and gets going from there. It is a well written story. Ebisch brings Malone and Stormy to life in a story that's full of mystery and secrets. It's thrilling to the end.
