When Maggie Wilson fell in love with Vincent Moreno, she thought she found her forever. He was the one who made her strong, giving her the courage to break free from her abusive mother. He gave her peace and comfort in a time when she needed it most. He was her everything.

It's been a year since he said good-bye but he still haunts her thoughts and dreams. The memories of the time they shared cannot be erased no matter how hard she tries. Everything in her wants to move forward and forget her past. All of it. But she continues to be reminded of the life she left behind.

College is challenging but it's the one part of her life she can control. That is until Asher Evans steps into the picture. He is nothing like Vincent but everything she needs right now. His friendship comes at a time when Maggie desperately needs a connection, something to ground her and help her move forward. But how do you open up when a piece of you is missing.

A great read from Charlene Zapata! This is the first book I have read by this author and I loved it! Once I finished reading it, I had to immediate start reading the next book. If you are looking for a great read that is not like all the rest of the books out there, then you definitely want to read this book from Charlene Zapata!

I was so anxious for Sublime Resistance, the second book in the Sublime Series. Let me just say, Charlene did not disappoint! I got sucked into this beautiful story of love, loss, friendship, and family. I loved the continuation of Maggie and Vincent's story with updates from old characters and being introduced to new ones. Charlene has a way of making you feel so invested and connected to the characters that you just can't get enough of. I have to admit that Asher completely stole my heart...he is definitely swoon-worthy and I'd love to get more of his story! I can't wait to read more from Charlene Zapata!!

I just want to start by saying how I am super jealous and pretty excited for all the research the author Charlene Zapata had to do for Asher's character. Just google "surfing barrel" your welcome.  I don't really know where to start! i loved this book but is was almost two seperate books for me. Zapata did something to me that know other author has been able to do yet, she made me fall hard for another character!! I won't give to much away but there was this one scene that took place on surfboards in the ocean that had me thinking Vincent who?? But then half way through the book i was totally team Vincent again!! talk about a roller-coaster of emotions!  It's really hard for me to talk about this book and not give spoilers so i am just going to say that Sublime Resistance totally lives up to its predecessor, it is just as good if not better. With some fantastic new characters too.

When Sublime Resistance opens it’s as if nothing has changed; Maggie still has the same dreams and she’s still reeling from the experience with Vince – right where we left her.  Maggie’s character is strong and she still has that resilience we were treated to in ‘Wreckage’. She has settled into college life rather well and of course has lingering issues from the past… for more details than that, you’ll have to read both books. ;)  I like Zapata’s writing in this one, it is well spoken and given from Maggie’s POV and in present tense at that – this is different than most and I find the change to be refreshing. I had become quite attached to the entire cast of characters in Wreckage and the same is going on here in Resistance – very well developed, likable characters for the most part. For the one character who is not likable, I find that I love to hate on her and am dying to see what she will pull next, as the drama surrounding her adds just the right amount of scandal to this series.  I think the best part of the novel is when I reached the end and saw that another one is coming soon! Charlene – I’ll be needing more of this cast and the mama drama, thank you ;) !!
