With the latest book in her Southern Ghost series, Sweet Tea and Spirits, Angie Fox has done it again. Every time I pick an Angie Fox book I get a little thrill and this time was no different. She combines humor, mystery, romance and all out adventure with every turn of the page. Frankie has to be one of my favorite characters in the series and makes me want to find a haunted house to befriend some old time gangster ghosts. Verity somehow manages to find trouble wherever she goes and it makes for an amazing read. Also, I seriously want a pet skunk. Pick up this series and start reading, you won't regret it! I've been hooked on this woman with her wicked sense of humor since I stumbled onto her Biker Witches series. The only thing I might change is that Ms. Fox has given me unrealistic hopes of finding a skunk and making it my pet.

I received an arc of this book and choose to review it I really do love this series and it's so well written that even if you are new to the series you could still enjoy this one as the author does remind us of the important events that happened to lead to the actual situation. Still if you can start by the beginning it's too good to miss. However, let see this specific story first. Verity has decided to accept her gift and try to make a job of it when Frankie agree to lend a bit of its power which isn't often done without some bargaining. She still believes in him but our gangster has quite a mind of its own though a certain lady is perhaps changing that. On the sentimental side, Verity 's relationship with Ellis is evolving well....at least as long as they are left to their own . We do learn a bit more about Verity's ancestry and i would be happy to meet Ida, we discover Ellis' mother ....i hated her in book 1 and i still do! That woman is intelligent but such a monster...she knew what her son did but still has it against Verity even after trying to take her last cent! Now she is acting again and i so would like to see her punished ( and of course i still want Beau to pay dearly for what he did!) because for her all is about appearance. We also see a bit more of the south's tradition and i really love that. It's funny to see how the city forgot his history to change it to what would feel more acceptable....but i do appreciate that some try to rectify that like Verity. I must say that i'm curious to see how Verity will manage in those society club. So for the investigation itself it was really funny, i loved the different ghosts and the rhythm was perfect keeping you glued to the book . You want to know the culprit and to see him (or they) get what they deserve....it can take time ( i mean looks for Beau he sure deserves to be punished but so far he isn't) but i'm sure we won't be disappointed. There is a lot of humour , Molly and Henrietta are some ghosts you will love, Frankie has some ideas to win money after all for him all is about money generally and if it annoys Verity the better. Romance and i won't tell you more about this part you will have to see. Action, because Verity can't stand by or keep her mouth shut but that's why we love. Really even if you are new to the series don't hesitate to read this you will spend a great time!

I've read every one of these Southern Spirits stories in about 9 days and I'm going to go through withdrawal until the next book in this series is released. This is a fun, quick read with a lot of intrigue and heart. .... I also now REALLY want a skunk to call my very own!

I read 5 books yesterday. NO SLEEP. I was chuckling, angry and...heavy sigh...in like with our hero. They make a perfect couple. Excited to see the next one.

I am very glad to see that Verity is finally getting paid for her work and that her relationship with Ellis is going strong. What I had hoped to see in terms of Ellis' relationship with his mother didn't happen. For a smart man, he has these blinders on where his mother is concerned. He has seen first hand how his mother tried to destroy Verity. It didn't strike him as odd that when his mother, a manipulative woman, was over that he didn't receive calls from his girlfriend? Even if his mother deleted the messages and call log on his phone, he could have gone online and viewed the information, so why didn't he? I have always been surprised that with as many people as Virginia has has hurt in the town that Verity, hasn't and isn't, receiving more support in her town. I understand the Ghost business would make some wary of her but those who have received help with their ghostly problems could have smoothed the way for her. I am really upset by the lack of respect that she receives from the Police Officers in town, other than Ellis, who have witnessed first hand, her and Ellis solving cases. I really hope that changes in future books because it is getting old. I am also hoping that in the next book, that Virginia and her precious Beau, finally pay for their crimes. They have gotten away with their bad behavior for far too long. As always, I loved all the scenes with Lucy. I just cannot get enough of her. Hopefully now that Frankie has found a softer side, thanks to Molly, Lucy will finally be more comfortable around him. The planting of trees was a beautiful touch. In upcoming books, it would be nice to see Verity's ancestors show up, long enough to help her reclaim the land that they worked so hard for, and help her deal with Virginia. I received a free, advance copy of this book from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for my unbiased review.

Verity and a temporarily reluctant Frankie take on another ghostly adventure. It all starts out with a strange phone call…there’s been a murder. BUT there hasn’t been one, yet. At the same time, Ellis get a call about a break in… Verity is hired to investigate an odd, ongoing situation, by Virginia Ellis’ replacement at the Sugarland’s Heritage Society. Someone is moving the mannequins into compromising positions and it is speculated that the ghosts are up to no good. These ghosts are such great characters in this story. Hoping one or two pop up in the future The history of the Heritage Society come out (didn’t guess that one) and Frankie, well, he’s becoming a changed man. Very well written and another winner from Angie Fox. She is one of the few I never ignore! I was given this book for an honest review.

This is only the second Verity Long book I've read, but I loved it. Frankie is one of my favorite characters and I enjoyed the scenes between Verity and Virginia, her current boyfriends mom (and her ex-fiancé's mom lol). This book flowed so smoothly and was impossible to put down. I highly recommend this book!

This series is a favorite of mine and this book does not disappoint! Verity takes on another ghost hunting job with her ghost pal Frankie, this time for the new President of the local historical society. Verity & Frankie along with her boyfriend Ellis have to solve a few murders and correct the history of the town. Frankie gets in trouble with a new gangster visiting town and has to go into hiding. He also falls in love! I enjoyed the story about Mick the Angel Maker and Verity's grandmother. Mother Mary's phone calls to Verity definitely had my heart racing. Describing the phone dialing in front of Verity had my imagination going! Love a good scare once in awhile when I'm reading. I hope Verity wins the towns respect soon for her abilities and would love to see Ellis's mom admit that Verity & Ellis belong together. Virginia is really the only character I really don't like in this series. This book was awesome and I can't wait to see what mystery Verity & Frankie have to solve next. (and more Lucy!)

OMG Angie Fox just gets better and better. This is book 5 in Angie Fox's Southern Ghost Hunter series, however while you will want to read each of the previous books you do not have to read them to follow SWEET TEA AND SPIRITS. Yes this is a continuing series, and yes there is a continuing story-line with Frankie, the gangster ghost, however each book stands on its own and has an ending. There are no cliff-hangers in these books. These books follow Verity Long, as she deals with ghosts, mysteries, her boyfriend Ellis and Ellis' family. I love the fact these stories evolve much how life itself does. The characters grow and change but still remain true to who they are. I love watching Verity get more comfortable with where she is in life and what that means for her future. I love Ellis...I want more Ellis...he's such a great character. But I think even better is ghost Frankie. He's such a character. Add in Verity's pet skunk, Lucy, and all the surprise "guests" that show up and you are always in for a fun engaging well-written time. I eagerly devour these books every-time I get them. They are written in first person but somehow that only adds to the appeal of these books. You never feel lost. Although I will say this one left me on the edge of my seat a couple of times. I was worried about Verity and Frankie. Fans of Angie Fox are in for a treat with SWEET TEA AND SPIRITS. If you are new Angie Fox but love great well written mysteries with outstanding characters and a setting you'll adore then you need to add SWEET TEA AND SPIRITS to your to buy list NOW. You won't be disappointed. Now to wait for the next book.......ugh that's the hard part, the waiting.

I thoroughly enjoyed this fifth installment of the Southern Ghost Hunter Mysteries series. If you are familiar with these stories, you'll love this new book. And, if you are new to the series, this is a fun place to jump right in (warning: you'll want to read the first four). Verity solves another murder with the help of her gangster ghost, Frankie -and discovers some interesting forgotten town history at the Sugarland Historical Society. Packed with mystery, adventure, Southern charm, and romance (not only for the living) - this book is another winner from Angie Fox!

I loved this book! I am a fan of the whole series, but they just seem to be getting better and better. I am glad that we see some of the secondary characters starting to shine in this book. Frankie, there may be hope for you yet! And Virginia, you have some work to do, but you're not ALL bad, you just need to get over yourself--nobody stays at the top forever! Seriously, if you like a good, light-hearted cozy, shop no further. It's fun, it's a little scary, and it has a pet SKUNK! How cool is that???

I cannot express how much I love this series! It's quirky, funny, romantic, and adventurous. And this book is no exception to the rule. Angie Fox has an amazing talent for character development and storytelling that makes this book a compelling, can't-put-it-down read that drives a need for more. Ellis is the perfect southern gentleman boyfriend, frankie is just the right amount of sass and spunk for a sidekick (even if he can be a real jerk) Virginia is a love-to-hate antagonist that pushes you to hate her even as you understand her feelings. I highly recommend this series and this book to anyone willing to listen to my humble opinion

"Sweet Tea and Spirits" is Book 5 in Angie Fox's series called The Southern Ghost Hunter Mysteries. This book is a fun, well written mystery series that has all the elements of a good book. A charming Southern ghost hunter named Verity who has all the tenacity and wit you always hear about in those Southern women. A hunky boyfriend who just happens to be the brother of her ex-fiancé with an outrageous socialite mother. Frankie her mobster ghost sidekick and all working together to solve a ghostly mystery that has Verity getting into one comedic scrape after another. Balanced internal and external dialog along with just the right amount background information to make the story very interesting. Just a great ghost story (not a horror story). I have really enjoyed each book I've read. Start with the first book if you can. I think it will make the series more enjoyable but this book is a stand alone as well.

ARC - I voluntarily offered to review this book with no obligations and my opinions are honest! This time Verity was "invited" to investigate a murder by a phone call from a ghost. Go figure! If it wasn't weird enough being able to see + talk to ghost, now ghost are calling her on the phone. Meanwhile, Verity has a new mystery to solve. The murder happened on the local historical society house. Will the ghost "residing" there help Verity? Who killed Julia the new president? Who is putting the mannequins on those compromising positions? Will Verity be able to solve this mystery without getting herself killed? Once I started reading this book, I did not want to put it down. I really wanted to know what happened next. I also want to read more on the romance between Verity & Ellis. I can't wait to read the next book.

I think this was one of the best yet! It didn’t dwell on the past books, caught you up to date subtly, but not repeatedly. I loved the story line for Frankie… and the link between a bad boy and Verity’s past… I just love this series I want to just read it all in one sitting. I get lost in the story and feel like I am there with her. I like that she is getting stronger in her self-confidence and in her relationship with Ellis and that she is standing up more to his mom and his mom is maybe seeing that Verity isn’t all bad. Can’t wait for the next one! Keep up the awesome work Angie!!! You ROCK!!!
