This book was well worth reading. I immediately bought the next book in the series, Winter.

Talon is the alpha of a pride of black panthers. He and his pride have hidden from humans until someone managed to catch on video a picture of two members shifting into panthers, which means they can no longer hide who they are. Liberty is the owner of the local bar. Liberty knows who she is and will not let anyone, not even a shifter like Talon, tell her what to do. This was an enjoyable and fast read. I liked the characters, both the main characters and the secondary characters. Ms. Hissong does a good job of quickly establishing everyone, so you can enjoy the story unfold. I especially enjoyed the relationship between Liberty and Talon. It was fun to see them fall into a relationship. I'm looking forward to the next book in the series. NB: I was given a copy and have opted to review it.

I love this book. The interaction between Liberty and Talon is refreshing, romantic and funny. Talon has to learn how to deal with an equal and he doesn't quite have the hang of it.

I love my shifter books and this is the first one I have read based on a Panther shifter. The book had me hooked from the start and I never wanted to put it down. I just had to started book 2 before I wrote this review as I just had to see what happened next. I love this authors books and this one is just as good as her others. The most interesting thing to me is that a mated or potential mate female will feel pain at the touch of another male other than her mate. This is something different as I have never read a shifter book with it. These panther shifters know their mates not only by instinct but also by the first touch as well. This group of Shifters is a secretive as most except they have now been discovered when two panthers in Talon's Pride are photographed in their shifted forms on the edge of the forest. Talon is now forced to explain their existence, their non-threatening presence to the humans and still keep from acknowledging that there are other Shifters out there. Unfortunately, the villain in this story doesn’t accept that Talon avoided acknowledging other Shifters, he only sees that Talon’s non-specific answer has outed every shifter, everywhere and in his deluded mind Talon must now pay. Liberty owns the local bar. She and her sister, Nova, run the place since their father’s death. She’s always felt an attraction to the tall, handsome Talon, although she only knew him from the times he and his friends frequented the bar for food and drinks and man could these guys eat. When an accidental casual touch alerts Talon that Liberty is his mate he is at first torn between the fact that she is human and the need to devote himself to his pride. Liberty is unprepared for her entrance into the Shifter world. Liberty and Talon make a good couple. Both strong willed, stubborn and totally committed to each other. They will make mistakes and missteps along the way some worse than others, but at their core is a couple who will fight for each other no matter what.

I loved everything about this book. The characters were easy to fall in love with and the descriptions of settings really made my imagination picture it all :) I did have a moment of confusion because once they finish their date and she goes home, she crawls into bed and reads a little and then has to get back up and deal with grabbing her cat and then Talon knocks on her door, and talks like that haven't seen each other in a week. He says just visiting we haven't seen each other much . Like you just saw her a bit ago. So that was a bit off to me, but I loved everything. Now the part about touching being painful for nated females was a bit too much like The Breeds to me but it did go smoothly into the story so okay. Would recommend this author if thy out enjoy paranormal romances:) On to the next book!....

Poor poor Talon, you gotta feel for him. He is a black panther, the alpha (is it technically an alpha if it is cat shifters?). Well Talon is from a race that knows when they find their mate, the problem is he finds his and she is human. She doesn't instantly get the knowledge that he is her forever mate like he gets about her. The good thing that is humans know about shifters. Liberty may be human but she is one heck of a woman who takes names and doesn't back down from a fight, she stands her ground. I really like a strong female lead. Until someone comes after her and since Talon knows she is his mate the pack is now in charge of helping keep her safe. All in all this was a good book and there are 4 in the series as of right now. Basically I enjoyed the book but it could use an editor or a few beta readers for a quick polish before publishing. Besides that its a cat shifter book and I love shifters, yum!!

One of the most Captivating stories I've read in a long while! From the very start Talon demands your undivided attention. Trust me! I stayed up much later than I should have with this book because I couldn't put it down long enough to sleep. Sleep is highly overrated anyway. There's just so much going on and you don't want to miss any of it so you don't really have any choice but to stay until the last page. Talon Shaw will capture your heart and never return it that's for sure. I enjoyed this book immensely and can't wait to get my hands on the rest of the series so I can find out what happens next!! I very highly recommend this book.

This is the first book in this series. I picked this book at a book signing just because I liked shifter books. I am now totally hooked on this series. The shifters in this series are panters instead the normal wolf shifters you normally read about. This book focuses on Talon (the alpha) and the human who is his fated mate. This book is funny at times, especially these big bad shifters. Talon is faces his greatest fear, his mate in danger. He must keep his calm and save her. This book has romance, danger, shifters, and hot guys. I can’t say enough about this book. I have to say I love Liberty. She may be human but she doesn’t take crap from anyone. I can’t wait to read the next book in this series. I love all the characters in this series and can’t wait to read what happens to them next

*May contain spoilers * New to me author. Talon is alpha to a pride of panthers that have now come out to the humans. Of all things, Talon expected to find his mate was not one of those things and she is none other than a human. Liberty owns the local bar and is one truly alpha female. Not much scares her until someone is after her but why? Can Talon and his pack keep Liberty safe? This was a good shifter book. Strong characters and interesting story plot. I found a few hiccups in the editing as there were missing words etc but nothing that takes from the story itself. If you like, cat shifters but add in other shifters kind of books then grab this one.
