I loved this newest novel by Lindsay Mckenna. It's a story filled with humor, sadness, suspense and romance all in one. Wyatt a Navy Seal Sniper reminds us of the patience that particular job requires so it's easy for him to apply it to his personal quest which is getting one stubborn Marine to notice him. Tal while cool as ice on missions has been in a dark place for many years. Through Wyatt ,Tal begins to blossom but unforseen outcomes take decisions out of their hands. This story while fiction shows the reader how truly selfless a person can be . Thoroughly enjoyed it and am looking forward to the next book in the Delos series.

I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. Book two of this series was different than book one, at least for me, but that makes it a great read because it isn’t same old/same old. This book is Tal Culver’s and Wyatt Lockwood’s story. I won’t recap the story, because I cannot do it justice; Tal & Wyatt have an amazing journey to reach their HEA. I love that Tal is a strong character and (at least I thought so) Wyatt comes across as a “playuh”. They seem like an unlikely match however we know that life isn’t always what it seems. Both of these characters are deep and layered – Ms. McKenna describes their characters perfectly but I won’t give any spoilers. You’ll just have to read it for yourself. I did like that Wyatt had such compassion and love under his alpha persona and Tal was strong enough, in much the same way, to give as good as she got. I’m SO looking forward to more of this series as I can’t wait to see how the rest of Tal’s siblings make their way into this new family business. I just think that it would be such a treat to sit at a dinner table with these folks. Imagine the conversations! Highest recommendations from me.

Lindsay McKenna’s DELOS series continues with this, the second full length book. It is the story of Talia (Tal) Anatolia Culver, the eldest child of Air Force General Robert Culver and his Turkish wife Dilara. With ever changing worldwide dynamics they determine that their global DELOS charities require in house security. Who better to run it than their own 3 children, Tal and 2 years younger twins Matt and Alexa. Following in their father’s footsteps each has served their country and have vast military backgrounds and training. They agree to leave the military in order to facilitate the creation and running of DELOS Security. Their individual and unique strengths contribute immensely to their diverse roles. Tal is a US Marine Corp Captain and Sniper. She is a fierce, fearless, highly capable Anatolian leopard WARRIOR who’s intelligent and respected. Having lost her fiancé to war 3 years earlier she is also fragile and vulnerable in her personal life. US Navy SEAL Chief Wyatt Lockwood discovers Tal through his friend, her brother Matt. She projects that she’s off limits and wants nothing to do with this badass Texan. With Wyatt’s refined SEAL intuition he strategizes that patience is what it will take to ever have a chance to get to know Tal. He listens to his heart which tells him Tal will be worth the wait. After 3 years of ‘chance encounters’ they finally just really talk. They discover that each is like an “ONION” with many layers to peel to get at the depth and essence of the person. Wyatt meticulously plots and eventually earns Tal’s heart, soul and complete trust. Tal and Wyatt’s evolution of discovery is revealing, enlightening and life changing, all for the better.
