Tattered Love by Lola Stark

When ex-Special Ops bad-ass Mace walks into Needle's Kiss tattoo parlour, he never expected to find the girl who would turn his life upside down.

Hard as nails Scarlett has been unlucky in love: she's been burnt, chewed up and spat out. Reluctant to have another relationship, can she keep her wits about her when hot-as-sin Mace walks into her tattoo parlor? Or will he break her down and leave his mark within her ink?

What starts out as a little fun, turns into something so much more.

Can Scarlett look beyond Mace's devastating past or will his demons come back to haunt them both?

Content warning: contains steamy, anywhere-goes sex, an alcohol induced embarrassing night out and two headstrong lovers taken on a whirlwind of crazy.

I love that she is feisty and independent. And i love how he talks to her and how he treats her! This 2 characters are a great match!! And the story never got me bored and it was even very mooving at times. Just the right amount of everything to the story.

This was an amazing book. Loved all the characters and the story line. Great romance novel with steamy sex scenes. Don't forget to read Conflicted Love which is the follow up with Teeny and Trip's story! Loved that one also. Lola Stark is a great writer and you should consider following her on facebook. She is a riot!

I think I fell in love with Mace right along with Scarlett in this book. I couldn't put it down. Lola Stark does a fantastic job with her first Needle's Kiss book! Scarlett has fire and spars with Mace the whole book. The story is both funny and spicy at the same time with these two bantering back and forth. Loved it. Now go read book 2 - Trip's story - Conflicted Love.

Oh my! Who doesn't love a tall dark and tattooed hot as hell alpha man walking through your door?  Scarlett sure didn't when Mace came waltzing into Needle's Kiss, her tattoo shop. When he turns out to be the older brother of her employee, Trip, and moves in right across the street from her, well, its just a matter of time before they set off fireworks.  Mace and Scar are volcano hot together! Mace is a straight up alpha man who sees what he wants, and goes after it. Seriously, how many men are going to tear out half your front yard to put in a heart shaped flower bed?? Scarlett is independent, sure of herself, and doesn't back down from anyone or anything. Mace turns her into "a girl" but she can't deny her feelings for him. The secondary storyline with Trip and Teen was intriguing and set us up to anticipate the next one in the series I really liked their chemistry, and the story line ... they are never going to be boring! I can't wait to see what Lola Stark does with Trip and Teen :)

Usually, I don’t like books that switch POV’s a lot. Most of the time it drives me crazy!!! You know what I mean, you’re getting into the story and then BAM it’s a new character talking. This book switches POV’s but I have to say, I honestly think that it added to the story in many ways. To me, there is no way possible that the story could have been told from just Scarlett or just Mace’s viewpoint. This story has everything that a girl could want; tattoo’s, AMAZINGLY hot sex, humor, drama, penis eye, suspense… Wait… Nope I didn’t forget anything! You know a book is good when while you’re reading it you can’t stop highlighting parts of the story, sending messages to the author (yes I’m guilty of that) and laughing so hard you have to stop reading completely in fear of dropping your kindle. Ok well I’m guilty of all three of those things. The fact that this is Lola’s first book, which I really don’t believe but that’s what she tells me, completely shocks me. The characters in the story, even the minor ones, are done in such a way that there is a ton of details about them. The line wasn’t crossed between too much detail and too little either; which is a huge deal for me. Scarlett and Mace were just amazing characters overall and the tension between the two of them kept the story alive. I really enjoyed the fact that even though Scarlett is a tattoo artist, and that part of her life doesn’t take over the book. We are able to spend time with HER as a person and not just her job. The drama that takes place during the story was also done very well in my opinion. There was just the right amount of it throughout the story. One factor of this that I enjoyed was that I would forget about it, and it would pop its head back up and be like “Don’t forget about me!” To me, that shows that Lola was more focused on the rest of the book and didn’t let one part of the book take over completely. I do have to say that after reading this book, I have a newfound love of hearts, drunk dialing and of course my continuing love of tattoos! This book is a complete MUST read from me and it is going in my top 10 of the year!

Scarlett Garcia is a tough, take crap from no one girl with a kick ass 1967 Shelby GT500 Mustang. (Hottest. Car. Ever.) Burned by one too many guys, she is done with trusting them. A little fun is all she wants from a man now. She wasn't expecting her friend's brother to walk into her tattoo shop and mess with everything. Mace Torres is back from the army for good and his first stop is to see his little brother Tripp. But Tripp's drop dead sexy tattoo artist boss practically knocks him on his ass. Mace is a man who goes after what he wants; and he wants Scarlett. She might be after just a few nights of fun, but Mace wants so much more. Will he be able to break down Scarlett's carefully constructed walls to let his love in? Besides the super hot car, this book has my most favorite thing: a super hot alpha male. Mace is dominant and sexy but there is also a bit of a sweet side to him. While Scarlett's mind fights his dominance, her body responds to it. Sparks fly when these two come together making for some seriously steamy scenes. I really enjoyed the story and the characters (and the sex) and I'm looking forward to the next book in the series.

Overall it was ok. More sex than relationship but the characters were interesting.

OKAY.... So this book was not close to as what I thought it would be. There was TOO much sex, the plot wasn't thought through-- there was times where I had no idea were the charecters were in the story (or doing in that matter)-- random charecters pop in and out of the book, and some parts weren't realistic. I'm not saying don't read the book, but just not well developed for my taste. Okay book overall.
