Tempted by You by Tiffany Clare

Nothing to lose . . .

As a renowned pianist, Rosalie Montgomery had the world at her feet until a tragic accident took it all away. She lost so much-her fiancé, her dreams, and her sight. But Rosalie refuses to let her blindness define her, and she becomes a sought after courtesan. When her brother goes missing, Rosalie will do anything to find him-even if it means risking her heart.

Everything to gain . . .

Thaddeus de Burgh is on the brink of becoming a great composer. Except that future depends on the success of his newest concerto, if he can ever finish it. When he hears Rosalie playing the piano, Thaddeus knows he's found his muse. He offers to find her brother if she helps him with his music. It's a perfect solution so long as he doesn't fall for her.

Rosa had seen tragedy in her young life and through strength and determination was able to move forward and make a life for herself the only way that she was able to. When she discovers her brother is in missing she goes to Nathan, a Duke and a person she calls her friend. Unfortunately he is unable to help her do to an emergency in his own life. While at Nathan’s home she meets his brother Teddy. Teddy is a composer and is entranced by how well Rosa plays the piano and offers her a deal. If she will be his muse to assist him in writing his concerto he will help her find her brother. Excellent read! The story was fun and interesting it had me hooked from page one. Teddy is wonderful, sexy and sweet. Rosa is strong on the outside but still feels guilty about her past and the life others believe she leads. Her blindness brought an interesting twist to the story, although I loved the fact that no one in her life really treated her any different than if she could see. If you are a fan of historical romance this is one that is a must read. Enjoy!

A good historical romance, Tempted by You was an overall enjoyable read. It wasn't anything special, but it was a nice romance and I liked it. Rosalie was a resilient heroine who was determined to survive, regardless of the untenable situations she found herself in, whether it was going blind, or being forced to leave her father's house. Two things about her character that I didn't like: 1) I couldn't understand how her father, who claimed to love her dearly, could have really thrown her out on the insistence of a bitter and cruel earl, especially right after an accident that took her sight. That whole situation was a bit out there. 2) It was extraordinarily frustrating when she pushed Thaddeus away, claiming it would  be for the best when it just made them both miserable. She knew it was a mistake the moment she did it, but I'm not sure if that was a good thing, because she realized her mistakes, or a bad thing, because she continued to do it anyway. However, she did come to her senses quickly, so I was able to like her, for the most part. Thaddeus was sweet. He  wasn't a particularly deep character, but he was definitely likable. I loved how determined he was to win Rosalie over and convince her to stay with him. He was an adorable hero. The romance was good. Not particularly deep, because it just focused on their connection through their shared love of music. But they were sweet together and the chemistry between them led to some steamy scenes. The plot was well paced and I was kept interested the entire way through. I enjoyed the story and I thought the ending was sweet. Tempted by You was a lovely historical romance that I quite enjoyed. It might not have been perfect, but it was a good read. Romance lovers, you might want to check this one out. *I received a complimentary copy from the publisher in exchange for an honest review
