About the Author

Barb Han is a USA TODAY and Publisher's Weekly Bestselling Author. Reviewers have called her books "heartfelt" and "exciting."

She lives in Texas--her true north--with her adventurous family, a poodle mix and a spunky rescue who is often referred to as a hot mess. She is the proud owner of too many books (if there is such a thing). When not writing, she can be found exploring Manhattan, on a mountain either hiking or skiing depending on the season, or swimming in her own backyard.

Barb Han wants you to buy the other books in her series, of course. But I found her ending of Issac and Gina's story less than satisfying. It is a semi-cliffhanger. There is a huge build-up intbe story about something TJ wants to share with his seensons. Then he tells them that he wants to wait for the three who were missing!!! Then he keeps them missing pending a different book in the series.. The love story was contrived. Apparently Gina had married herhigh-schoo, sweetheart because Issac broke her heart when they were in high school. Des said heloved her, and so they were married. It needs no creativity to have them meet and sparks to fly. The murder mystery was suspenseful and enabled Ms. Han to move Issac in with Gina with her worried mother's approval. It wasa quick read, but I'm not sure I canrecommend a cliffsnger.

This is a great story. It has great characters, great mystery and happily ever after. What more can you. It's a book that I had a hard time putting it down until the very end.

The story is not bad. Facts are scatttered throughout the book out of sequence. The author has strange sex scenes, still trying to figure out the shower thing. Fairly clean, however, if you have sex scenes one shouldn't run away from cattle language. Castration, Rocky Mountain Oysters, are understood by farm and ranch people.

The mystery in the story made the book hard to put down and the romance tugged at my heart. The two main characters in the story seem so real life and I enjoyed getting to know them. The author does such a good job of letting us into their thoughts that it is easy to get engrossed in the story and forget everything else. When the story ended, I still wanted more. Good news is the cowboy has some brothers, so hopefully Barb Han will write about all the brothers!
