Good girls shouldn't date bad wolves...
Fated Match has spent centuries pairing supernatural mates together. Witch and matchmaker, Chloe Donovan, takes pride in helping her clients find their happy endings. But when werewolf alpha and millionaire playboy Kieran Clearwater stalks into her office, she may have finally met the one man she can't help.
Kieran has no intention of finding his mate. Love is a weakness he can't afford. But with his pack growing more concerned over his single status he needs to assure them all is well. What better way to do so than to hire a fake girlfriend he can parade around at the annual pack retreat?
Chloe is coerced into becoming the wolf's temporary mate, but she's determined to keep their agreement professional. But her seductive partner in crime has other ideas, and his considerable charm makes it difficult for her to keep her eye on the prize. While these two burn hot when they're together, behind-the-scenes politics work to rip them apart.

"Not a chance."
The man before her arched one dark brow. "I believe you should check with your boss before refusing my offer."
"I don't need to. Despite whatever misconceptions you harbor about this agency, we are in the business of finding true love, not the kind you can rent by the hour."
Anger curled through Chloe as she watched a slow smile cross the werewolf's face. Obviously he was not a man well acquainted with refusal.
Every now and then, men of his ilk crossed the threshold of Fated Match, New York's premier supernatural dating agency. They were on the lookout for a casual encounter that would lead to nothing more serious than an obligatory breakfast. And while she didn't like to judge other people's life choices, she'd spent years working to make this agency a success. That success was grounded in the company's mission to match mates. They strove to find that one person their clients had spent lifetimes waiting for — a fated match that would make eternity far easier to bear.
Chloe was in the business of lasting, permanent love, and she'd seen enough of men to know the wolf before her was more likely to run in the opposite direction of his mate than commit to an eternity with her.
Such a pity. Her boss had been on the hunt for another high profile client, and the werewolf community had been just as hard to crack as the vampire population. With several vamp matches already feathering her cap, Vivian was eager to add a few wolves to her roster. Bringing in a pack alpha like this one would almost guarantee a healthy bonus in Chloe's future.
Though she had to admit, an expanding bank account had not been her first thought when the wolf had entered her office.
She was used to meeting powerful supernaturals, given the nature of her work, but this alpha had seemed to fill the small room. His power had brushed along her skin like a physical caress as he folded his massive frame into the baby-pink chair across from her desk. The juxtaposition had brought a smile to her face that she'd quickly tried to hide. If ever a man had looked out of place in her feminine office, it'd been Kieran Clearwater. The wolf brought visions of ruthless battles and tangled sheets to mind, not the dainty pink and silver accents that decorated all Fated Match offices.
Not that he looked ill at ease. Chloe doubted much rattled him. Folding his hands on her white desk, he leaned forward and fixed his unblinking stare on her.
"You really ought to run this by your boss," he said again, an edge of boredom tingeing the command.
Chloe allowed a tight smile to twist her lips. "Mr. Clearwater, let me see if I understand you correctly. You are not here to register for our services. You have no interest in the usual dating package complete with scheduled introductions and access to our substantial internet database of singles."
"Instead, you'd like me to find you a temporary lover."
A grin flashed over his face, causing her heart to hammer once more. "Perfect."
"Sweetheart, the Clearwater pack is not without resources. Name your price and I'll write you a check."
Chloe clenched her fists under the table and did her best to exude calm disapproval. "Our clients are members of the supernatural community looking for love. They come to us with the understanding that anyone they meet is just as serious about forever as they are. We are not a procurement agency. If that's what you're looking for I'd recommend trying a one eight-hundred number."
There was no mistaking the mockery that flared in his eyes. "Do I look like I'm in need of such a hotline?"
No. The damn man probably walked into a bar, snapped his fingers, and had women willing to follow him anywhere.
The supernatural community had an advantage over humans when it came to physical beauty. Hell, most of her girlfriends were mated to men that rivaled gods, and the wolf before her was no different. Kieran could easily have walked into any modeling agency in the world and wound up on a magazine cover. His auburn hair curled around his ears, with a cowlick falling across his forehead that her fingers itched to brush away. Equally dark eyes focused on her with a sharp awareness that told her Kieran wasn't a man who missed much.
He had the full lips and high cheekbones many women would envy — not that anything about him was the least bit feminine. Especially not when one's gaze dropped below the breathtaking face.
As a species, wolves tended to be larger and more muscular than many of the other races, and this alpha was no exception. His black T-shirt stretched across a massive chest she wished she could run her fingers over. Thank God his leather jacket hid a more detailed view or she wouldn't have been able to form a single sentence about work. There was only so much one witch could take, after all.
Long legs encased in dark-washed denim folded beneath her desk, and Chloe had fought the urge more than once to shift her own legs to brush against his. Were they standing, she doubted she'd reach much higher than his shoulder. The thought sent a shiver of awareness down her spine. Given her own height, few men could make her feel small.
But his striking looks only made his request that she set him up with a temporary girlfriend all the more bizarre. Surely a man like Kieran needed no help finding a lover.
"I regret that we are unable to help you, Mr. Clearwater. Now if you please, I have another appointment to get to."
Instead of looking chagrined or taking her hint to leave, Kieran leaned forward. "Do you know much about wolves?"
Chloe blinked. "I'm well versed in all the species we represent."
"Then you know all about the mating moon."
When her hesitation gave her away, his knowing smile widened.
"The mating moon," he instructed, filling in the gaps in her knowledge, "occurs one night a year, when newly coupled wolves go before the clan and make their intentions to one another clear. Once they've made their announcement, pairs are considered mated."
"Like a wolf wedding," she mused.
"Precisely. Some couples are together for years, lifetimes even, but without an announcement on a mating moon they are not recognized as truly mated."
"Interesting custom, but I don't see where Fated Match fits in."
"This year's mating moon is a month away."
Chloe met his dark gaze. "So?"
"So, my pack is pressuring me to participate."
She shrugged. "Congratulations."
A low growl rumbled from his throat, raising the hairs on the back of her neck. "I have no desire for a mate. Managing one of the largest wolf packs on the East Coast is enough of a hassle without throwing a woman into the mix."
"Then again I say, you are in the wrong building."
"What I need," he continued, ignoring her interruption, "is a decoy. My pack wants to see that I'm committed to someone, that I'm not spinning out into lone wolf territory, which would leave them vulnerable to an enemy clan. Unfortunately, tensions are naturally high around the mating moon, and as pack creatures, that heightened unease has started to cause ripples through my community. I need a woman who will pretend to be my lover to get me through the mating moon so that my pack doesn't start questioning our security or my leadership."
Chloe's jaw dropped.
"As long as she's not a wolf, I can use the excuse of our cultural differences to avoid any announcement," Kieran said. "We'll part ways after the danger is past, a tragic case of insurmountable barriers tearing us apart."
"And you came here because ...?"
He shrugged. "I can't use any of the women among my current acquaintances, or the charade would never hold up. I need a stranger who will play a part and then disappear. You are a dating agency. Surely you can find a woman to fit my needs."
"You want to buy a temporary lover."
His sharp eyes flicked to her. "I want to buy a temporary girlfriend. I have no need to pay for sex. Write that into the contract if you wish. Along with an ironclad non-disclosure agreement."
"This is so not happening," she replied. "You need to leave."
Kieran heaved a long sigh. "Then, my apologies, but you've wasted enough of my time." He stood, his chair scraping against the tiled floor.
He crossed to her door and stepped out into the hall.
"Who is in charge of this agency?" he bellowed.
Chloe gasped, surging to her feet.
"You cannot simply roar your way into getting what you want!" she declared, tugging him by the arm back into her office. Glancing down the hall she saw shocked faces looking their way from the agency's waiting room. "Did you misplace your manners along with your sense when you came in here?"
Amusement colored his expression as he stared down at her. "You might be cute, little witch, but I'm a busy man. I need your supervisor immediately."
Chloe's brain was still trying to catch up with the unexpected compliment when Vivian appeared in the doorway.
"I believe someone was trying to get my attention," the siren said.
Her tough as nails boss was not usually a figure that inspired comfort, but at the moment, Chloe didn't think she'd ever been happier to see the slender woman. Like most of her race, she possessed a beauty that would drive men to their doom. Long silver hair cascaded to her waist, though today it was pulled back into a tight braid. As always, Vivian chose clothes of silver and white to cover her lithe form. Designer, of course. The image she presented was as striking as it was ethereal. There was a reason sirens were much sought after.
Of course, desired or not, you still had to be careful about their voices. Chloe had once made the mistake of taking Vivian to karaoke and she, along with the rest of the bar, had spent the remainder of the night worshiping the ground her boss walked on.
But even though Vivian was driven to succeed no matter the cost, the woman still had some tightly held morals, and Kieran buying a woman would cross all her lines.
"Vivian Sands," she said to Kieran, holding out her hand.
Vivian's eyes widened at the easily recognizable name. Chloe tried not to flinch at the accusation in her blue gaze when it turned her way. A client of Kieran's standing should have been passed along to Vivian herself, but she'd been busy and Chloe had made the call to handle the intake herself.
Not a mistake she'd repeat again.
"I've come to your agency with a unique set of requirements," Kieran said. Before Chloe could jump in, he laid out the same information he'd just finished telling her.
Chloe listened to the story once more, still having a hard time believing he wanted them to find some poor woman to be his beard for the next month.
"I've already told him it's out of the question," Chloe said when he finished.
Vivian nodded. "I'm inclined to agree. This agency has been matching mates since 1704. We have a reputation to uphold, and this sort of request goes against our mission. Now, should you wish to locate your mate for real, we'd be more than happy to assist you."
Instead of looking discouraged, Kieran merely took a piece of paper from the inside pocket of his jacket and handed it to Vivian.
Chloe leaned closer to her boss as she unfolded the offering.
"That's a lot of zeros," she breathed as she stared at the check.
"I am serious when I say I want to avoid being mated to someone of my pack's choosing, and that's the way tensions are headed," Kieran said. "That check represents your agency's payment. On top of that amount, I'm happy to pay whatever the woman you find for me wishes, to compensate her for her time and trouble."
Vivian's eyes had not left the substantial check. Chloe could almost hear her able mind whirling through all the possibilities.
"Not enough?" Kieran asked silkily. "I'm happy to write one for whatever fee you require, if you can ensure absolute secrecy and a top notch candidate."
"Vivian," Chloe hissed.
The siren blinked and glanced her way. "Please excuse us for a moment, Mr. Clearwater, while I confer with my associate." Grabbing her arm, Vivian steered them both down the hall and into her personal office.
Chloe didn't bother to glance at the icy wonderland she'd just entered. The office was easily thrice the size of hers, decorated in silver from the shimmering wallpaper to the massive metal desk to the trimmings on all the colorless furniture.
"You cannot be considering this," Chloe said.
Vivian sighed. "I agree it's an unorthodox request, but this is serious money here." She waved the check.
"We do an excellent business. We don't need his bribery."
"Normally I'd toss him out but you know I've been considering expansion for a while now."
"The West Coast office?" Chloe asked, brightening. If Fated Match expanded to other locations, Vivian would have to move with them to ensure the offices were each started up and managed properly. That would leave their New York agency without a leader, and as the longest-standing employee on record, Chloe would be perfect for the job.
"That caught your interest," Vivian said. "That money could help fund our new office ... leaving this one open for new management."
The trap snapped shut around her. The siren was nothing if not ruthless when it came to getting what she wanted, and she saw no problem with dangling people's hopes and dreams before them like carrots to ensure the behavior she desired.
"We'll write up the contract," Vivian continued. "Make it magically binding. You can do that easily enough. All participants will be sworn to silence and there will be no chance of our reputation being tarnished. Plus, once completed, we'll have the capital to grow our business."
"I still think it's a terrible idea."
"Enough to give up your dreams of running this office?"
Chloe hesitated. She didn't like Kieran using his wealth to force them to serve up some woman to him on a platter. But did she object enough to jeopardize her life's goal?
"This city is full of women who will jump at the chance to be a powerful man's arm candy for a few weeks for fair compensation. We can add a no sex clause to the contract if you feel strongly enough about it. Make sure everything is above board and fairly handled," Vivian said. "Think of the opportunity, Chloe."
She was. Oh, how she was.
"If I agree to this," she said, not even believing the words were coming out of her mouth, "you will sign a contract as well, naming me as the acting manager of this office upon the opening of a subsequent Fated Match location. This agency will be mine."
"Under my brand umbrella," Vivian agreed. "We'll have to work out the breakdown of profits and what percentage will be owed to me."
The siren inclined her head. "You have a deal. Make Kieran happy and New York is yours."
Chloe arched a brow. "You don't want to oversee this yourself?"
"You'll be just as invested as I, and I need the time to put all the wheels in motion to move on. I hear Seattle might be a good place to set up shop."
She chewed her lip, thinking about the beautiful alpha in her office. All she had to do was find him a gold-digger that met his specification. She already had a few names she could put on the list.
"Fine," she capitulated. "I'll do it."
A cool smile crossed Vivian's face. "Excellent. As long as we do well by Kieran, he'll do well by us. And really, how hard is it to keep one werewolf happy?"CHAPTER 2
"You are impossible to please."
Kieran merely grinned as he reached for the file Chloe had tossed onto the desk between them. "I just know what I want," he replied.
The words were true enough. He'd never been one to take second best. He decided on a target and pursued his goal until it reached fruition. The tactic had served him well in both his professional and private life, and he saw no reason to change now.
Not even for the witch fuming before him.
He supposed he should give her credit for doing her best. She had, after all, come up with a handful of potential candidates to introduce him to. They'd made each one sign a non-disclosure agreement before explaining his plan, and much to his matchmaker's obvious annoyance, not one of the women he'd met had been put off by the proposed ruse. And why would they be? In his experience, few women would turn down an all expenses paid girlfriend vacation and a month spent on his arm.
"Hopefully your candidate today will be a more viable option than your previous attempts," he said, flipping open the file to stare at a photo of an icy blonde beauty.
"Your dreamboat quotient takes a serious beating every time we speak," Chloe grumbled.

In book 3 of the Fated Match series, Chloe Donovan, a witch and matchmaker, is coerced into pretending to be the mate of wolf alpha, Kieran Clearwater. His pack grows restless because their leader has alone for a long time so Kieran devises the subterfuge to make them back off. Chloe has no interest in being his pretend lover, but her boss, Vivian, a siren who has a way of convincing everyone to do what she wants, makes it clear she has to take one for the team. Fated Mates brings together supernaturals of all species which sets up some interesting cross species dynamics. They have been losing business to the internet so Chloe feels pressed into going along with the charade to help draw more of the supernatural community back. Having the Alpha werewolf of the East coast as a client would be a big asset. Chloe finds herself falling for Kieran; however, because of a previous relationship gone bad, he has issues with love and commitment. I enjoyed this story quite a bit including Chloe and Kieran’s ostensibly fake courtship. I did find Kieran’s stubbornness irritating at times, but then those who are basically immortal can get a bit set in their ways. The variety of supernaturals such as vampires, witches, werewolves, sirens, harpies etc. create fun match ups; however, you don’t have to be a paranormal fan to enjoy this story. The mix of supernatural species presents an interesting social commentary on getting along with others who are essentially different. It’s a well told tale showing the desire for love and family is intrinsic to everyone despite their inherent differences.
This author is a very good story teller, and an amazing writer. I will certainly continue to read her books .
I wish the ending wasnt the endings. Id love to know what happens after they get together a little more. It feels so incomplete on all the stories.
Loved every second of it
Well done hope we can find out what happens to then if lisette will be trouble for then at all
I'm buying another by the author
Story is simple love story but very well written. Loved it.
The Alpha's Temporary Mate was such a funny and romantic book to read. Davies uses the same concept of what one would typically find in a contemporary book, but twists it by using supernatural beings. I found it to be refreshing and enjoyable to read. Fated Match is dedicated to match supernatural beings together no matter what they are, and one of these people in charge of that is Chloe Donovan, a witch who takes pride of the work that she does to find the perfect match of her clients. So when one of her newest clients, Kieran Clearwater, walks to her office and demands her to find him a fake girlfriend, Chloe immediately refuses. But being the wealthy alpha that he is, Kieran is willing to compensate her and the company for the favor. With nothing to lose, Chloe accepts his offer, but that soon proves to be a difficult task when he refuses her options for what he wants. Instead he is immediately drawn to her and the way she is towards him that he asks her to be his fake girlfriend instead. As the mating moon approaches, Kieran introduces Chloe to his pack members and that is when things start to change in the story. Both Kieran and Chloe begin to get to know each other and their pasts that takes their chemistry to the next level. It is evident that Kieran doesn't do relationships, but the way Chloe reacts towards him makes him notice her more. No one has ever stood up to him, and when she does everything starts to change for him. The man in him questions his new feelings for her, but his wolf is ready to claim her as his, and that is what soon begins to scare him. But the minute his past shows up, he has to make a choice of whether moving on is the right thing for him and Chloe or if his duty as the alpha is greater than his growing love for her. As I mentioned before the idea is not new, but it does makes it refreshing to read in a somewhat different perspective. Chloe is definitely a strong character in the book, she has fought to be where she is that she is not one to give up easily. Her job and the people that she works with are her only family, yet she longs to belong to someone, to have her own mate. When she starts working for Kieran, he is the one that opens her eyes to the idea, but soon their attraction starts to turn into something more, which makes things difficult for her. Whereas for Kieran, his pasts has haunted him for a very long time, and when he meets Chloe he finally sees what he has been looking for all along. Although the characters have flaws, they do grow somewhat throughout the book. We don't get a drastic change, and I really don't think it needed it. Though I have to say that there were scenes that could have been executed a lot better. For one, the ending sweet and to the point, but I really think that the book needed something else to tie everything together (an epilogue...). Overall, the story worked for me and if you are looking for a supernatural story with a twist then I would highly recommend giving this book a try. :) ***ARC provided by Entangled Publishing/Covet in exchange for an honest review.***
I got a kick out of this. Our hero, werewolf alpha and millionaire playboy Kieran Clearwater, is everything his titles suggest. He is overbearing, opinionated and determined. His money has purchased everything he needs or desired until now. The pack elders are pushing him to pick a mate. To that end he figures if he is dating they will back off. So by throwing money at the situation he ends up with a feisty witch who refuses to kowtow and resents his using their mate finding services for a temporary hook up. What neither expects is to develop feelings for the other but when it happens watch out. Sparks are going to fly. The Alpha's Temporary Mate is a well thought out fun read that will keep you smiling throughout. Although it is part of a series it can be read standalone just fine. I really enjoyed reading this book. The witchling and her wolf. I was simply entertained with the way Chloe would go toe to toe with Kieran. She wouldn't back down to his alphaness and even "swept" him off his feet a time or two. The magic versus Braun - loved it! They were quite humorous with their banter and quite sizzling in their physical moments. The way they were written was very nicely done. She soothed his wolf and he made her feel beautiful and like she belonged. It was a very funny, sweet, hot, friendly, sexy read. Chloe's friend Jessica was a hoot, but a tremendous friend. Vivian, although icy, was intriguing. I hope we get their stories one day. I received this book in exchange for an honest review from the publisher.
Chloe Donovan has been coerced into being playboy pack alpha Kieran Clearwater's "girlfriend" at his pack's annual retreat. His pack has been riding him for some time to find a mate, and what better way to get them off his back than bring a potential candidate to the week long retreat? Kieran is in for a surprise when his wolf decides he wants Chloe as his mate. He's sworn off the whole "mate" thing due to a broken heart from many years ago. However, that doesn't stop him from attempting to pursue Chloe relentlessly. Chloe sees that Kieran is a danger, having always believed in a HEA. She knows that's one thing Kieran will never give her, but she's finding it harder and harder to resist his charms. Throw in a lover from the past and some very unhappy elders, and discover a wonderful love story with plenty of laughs and just enough angst to make things real. *****I was given this book in exchange for an honest review as posted on raesrockinreviews.blogspot.com***** 5 STARS!! The Alpha's Temporary Mate is riveting. I was compelled to read from the first page, and literally couldn't put it down! I am in the firm belief that this book (and series for that matter) should come with a Warning Label: Read at your own risk: you will not be able to complete even the simplest task after starting this book, due to the sheer and utter greatness that comes from needing to know what happens and the adoration of even the smallest of characters. A shifter romance with a happy ending, is the third installment of the Fated Match series by Victoria Davies and can be read as a stand alone. Chloe is a witch who was left to her own devices from a very young age. Growing up without a family or a coven she has had to fight to survive at every moment and learn about all of her abilities on her own. Growing up in the era of WWII she is relatively young still for an immortal but has built her life with the desire to make matches, because every single one counts for something. Kieran Clearwater, alpha of one of the biggest most powerful packs in the continent, is on the verge of an arranged mating if he can't put off the Seniors in his pack just passed this Mating Moon, his resolve is to hire someone from Fated Match to impersonate his lover until passed the moon where they can part with "irreconcilable differences" only no one seems to fit what he needs, except maybe a feisty witch who settles his wolf-- but the question remains can the ruse pass all suspicions?? I have to say, I read this book before reading the others, I am a huge fan of shifter romances and this series very quickly made it to the top of my must-read list! It is one of those, that even though the blurb says is an HEA, you find yourself shaking with hope that it is true-- the back of the book wouldn't lie to you, would it?? Victoria Davies has most definitely made a fan-girl out of me, I was swept away and left enraptured from the first page-- with characters well put to paper that you can't help but fall in-love with, and a story line that will enthrall you..... sigh, you just must must read it.
Purr-fectly delicious Witch and matchmaker, Chloe Donovan is wonderful at her job and she makes sure she puts the right paranormal with their right mate. But when alpha and millionaire playboy Kieran Clearwater barges into her office she thinks she may be outgunned. Kieran has no reason to get a mate but because his pack is demanding he get one, he decides to hire a matchmaker and get a fake girlfriend and into the picture comes Chloe. Chloe does not want to be a part of the debacle and wants not to be a part and he has to pretty much coerce her into this. The sparks between them is so hot ; Chloe fights and will not let Kieran keep her bowed down. She is a witch and she is not wanting to get into shifter politics and thinks this is a horrible trick to play on his pack. Kieran wants her nose out of his pack’s business and just wants her to do what he tells her. The two clash on just about everything except the passion that is rising between them. Kieran is all alpha –he doesn’t like his word being questioned –the passions between them continue to rise as Kieran state she can be his “pretend girlfriend”. We, as the reader, can see the vivid scenery painted by the author and can feel the emotions pouring through the story as tensions rise ; Passions and Humor are on the page as well as sadness from Chloe as she believes Kieran doesn’t and will never love her. There were times I cried for her when I felt her pain. I really could place myself in her shoes. Will Kieran do the right thing and fight for Chloe? Because as we read we can all tell Chloe IS his mate, not fake as he keeps telling her. You will have to read and find out. I also have to say, I love the supporting cast of characters and I hope Chloe’s siren boss gets her own book next. This was a phenomenal paranormal romance book. My Rating: 4.5 stars **** ***A gifted copy was provided by the publisher for my honest review****
** I was given an ARC by Publisher for my honest review *** This is one of the best PNR I have read in such a long time!!! I love how the characters are such opposites of each other. How the big bad alpha is so righteous in what he believes and wants. All I can say to that is "Oh how the mighty fall". The story had such good feel reading, the romance build up between the characters was just awesome. I love the fact the Kieran was not all he man and just about the sex but fought the attraction between him and Chloe. I loved that Chloe decided to to take a chance and fight for this relationship between them. I definitely will be reading more of this author's books in this series. I can not wait to meet the other supporting characters in this book in stories of their own.
This was a first read for me by Victoria Davies. Even though this book is part of a series, you will not be lost if just starting the series with this one like I did. It can be read as a standalone. I thought that Victoria Davies did a really good job of incorporating all types of supernatural and shifters. This book is full of all types of paranormal. Chloe works at an agency that specializes in matching the fated up to who they think will be good for them. Chloe has always taken pride in her work and considers herself one of the better ones in her field. When Kieran walks in, he throws Chloe for a loop. Chloe has never had a client that she could not find a match for, but Kieran has no interest in any of the women that Chloe suggests to him. So, as a last resort, Chloe agrees to be his date and that is all it is, a pretend date. Kieran is trying to calm his pack and their worries about his love life after a tragic loss for him. He thinks that if they see him with someone, they will all think that he is ready to love again and move on. Chloe never expected things to be as awkward with Kieran as they are when they start going places together. Kieran obviously is not ready for a relationship and has no interest in a relationship with Chloe. Kieran plays hard to get and hard to get along with for awhile. Once things begin to heat up between them, Chloe thinks that this is finally the break she needs, but that is not the case. Will Kieran ever get over his last love and move on? Will Chloe be able to stand him long enough to get through the bad parts with him to establish a good relationship with him? You need to read this one for yourself to find out! Such a great read that will keep you turning the pages as fast as you can. Thanks for a great read and look forward to more from you Victoria Davies!!
*ARC provided by Entangled Publishing in exchange for an honest review* The Alpha's Temporary Mate is Chloe, a lonely witch who works for a supernatural matchmaking agency. Kiernan is the Alpha wolf who has been burned by love but now needs a fake girlfriend for a month. Kiernan likes her spirit and decides Chloe is exactly what he needs. For business reasons, Chloe reluctantly agrees to the charade. This is a fun, sexy romance with likable characters and I really enjoyed it.
Chloe, a witch, works at the dating agency Fated Match. FM is for supernaturals looking for their fated mates. Kieran is a wealthy playboy werewolf who is definitely not looking for a long-term commitment. But he needs a fake mate for his pack's retreat, because his pack has been on his back about finding his mate and strengthening the pack. Chloe is against providing a fake mate for Kieran. What's worse is that she's coerced into becoming the fake mate herself. Although Chloe wants to keep their relationship professional so she doesn't get her heartbroken when the charade is over, sparks fly between them. They are soon falling for each other. But Kieran is still not relationship material, the elders of the pack are skeptical witch-haters, and Kieran's past haunts them. Heartbreak seems inevitable. ... What I loved about this book is that it made me cry. A lot. It really tugged at my heart before I got to the satisfying ending. Kudos to Victoria Davies for engaging my emotions so thoroughly. This book is the third in the Fated Mates series, and although I have not read books one or two, this in no way diminished my enjoyment. This is the story of Chloe, a witch who has grown up alone, and Kieran, the alpha Wolf burned by love in his past. Chloe tries to see the good in people, although when her and Kieran first meet, she has trouble finding any good with his attitude. Kieran thinks he knows what he needs to placate his pack, whilst not tying himself down with a mate he doesn't want. This is a well-told, well-paced story full of romance and sensuality. Our main female is prepared to stand up and fight for what she believes in, her best friend will tell her what she needs to hear, not just what she wants to hear. Kieran may be slow catching up with his wolf, but he stands firm once a decision is made. This book was perfect for the romantic in me and I loved every moment of it. Highly recommended. * I received this book from Entangled Publishing / NetGalley in return for a fair and honest review. * Merissa Archaeolibrarian - I Dig Good Books!
Great addition to the Fated Match series! This is another story in the Fated Match series, this time focussing on Chloe, a witch who has worked for the agency with Vivian Sands for more than fifty years. The agency tries to help supernatural beings to find their soul mate and has been operating since 1704. In all those years they haven’t had a request quite like that of Kieran Clearwater, alpha werewolf of the Clearwater pack. He wants someone to pretend to be his girlfriend to help stop members of his pack trying to get him to mate at the approaching Mating moon. He will pay highly for the right candidate but isn’t actually looking for a mate as he had a very bad experience a few centuries ago. After rejecting an assortment of possible candidates for the role, Kieran suggests that instead of looking for other female candidates, Chloe should be the one. With trepidation she agrees, after creating a magically binding contract. That’s when the fun really starts as the two endeavour to ignore the building attraction between them….. Sometimes the best laid plans can have unexpected results! This is a delicious paranormal romance, a great addition to this series and a story I really enjoyed. It ha some familiar characters in it from the earlier novels but could also be read as a standalone. The characters are well developed, believable in their own ways, with a variety of histories which directly impact on their ability to form relationships. Chloe is feisty, fearless and not afraid to stand up to Kieran. He’s not used to females not wanting him for his position, power and money – Chloe definitely intrigues him and is a great counterpart for him. The interactions with friends and pack members are superbly portrayed enhancing the whole story. I’ll definitely be looking out for further stories in this series and. by this author in future! Thanks to the Author, publisher and NetGalley, too, for letting me read an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.
The Alpha's Temporary Mate, Victoria Davies Review from Jeannie Zelos book reviews Genre: Romance, Sci-fi and Fantasy. I really enjoyed this – I loved the first two novels, and its one of those easy to read, fun series that you can just relax with. This time it’s Chloe who’s the main subject, put in a difficult position by Alpha werewolf Kieran. He wants a temporary girlfriend, one that will fool his pack and get them off his back about settling down. That’s something he’s not prepared to do. Chloe needs this to go right, he’s offering big money and if she can land him she’s promised the office managers job, as her boss will use his funds to open the next Fated Match. They don’t do temporary though, they’re all about finding Mates, but the money he’s offering persuades Chloe's boss to do this as a one off, so long as the other person involved is clear its not permanent too. So far though all the people Chloe comes up with get rejected by him, while his wolf is telling him Chloe would be good. She reluctantly agrees to do it – its only a few weeks but involves living with him, and going on the annual pack retreat. She’s a witch, so that would be the perfect breakup reason for the pack, in fact it’s a win win – or is it? I love the way it played out, how we learned more about both Kieran and Chloe, how we met briefly the characters from earlier books, and how the friends on both sides needed them to be very convincing to pull it off. As Kieran says though she can’t flinch when he kisses her in public, so they need to practice...and that turns out to be the catalyst for much more emotion than either of them bargained for. Its a cute story, with some smouldering sensual scenes and some great humour. I did hope for a bit more jealousy from the pack females, who naturally would resent Chloe but what there was worked well. When it all fell apart I was so upset for Chloe – and I need that, need the sad bit. Its another good addition to the series, and one to read when you want a light novel to relax with and entertain you, not a deep dark drama that needs all your attention and concentration. There’s a place for both in my reading lists, it depends on my mood what I want to read. Stars: Five, a great addition to the series.
