A brief history of the Amish people from their break with the Catholic Protestant Churches when differences in basic beliefs led them down another path to the martyrdom of followers to the splitting into two churches, the Mennonite and the Amish. Up to present day. I have always known that Amish jams, jellies, butters, breads and cheeses were the most delicious to be purchased. Now I can enjoy making some of those fragrant breads, not to mention cookies, pastries, cakes, and pies for myself. Every time I review a cookbook my family gets to reap the rewards or disasters, as the case may be.
