The Caprian Prince
I have no desire to marry for the sake of the crown. So when my father arranged a betrothal, I begged him to allow me to choose a bride instead. He agreed under his conditions. I am to choose a suitable bride—meaning, royalty, or nobility—no plebeian. And as King stuck in his old ways, he also gets to choose candidates as my possible bride-to-be. So before my coronation draws near, my friends decided to get me out of Capria and take a trip to New York for my bachelor party, if you will. It's a good thing I'm not as famous as Prince William or Prince Harry. I wouldn't have been able to escape my dull yet demanding life as the prince for a week and just be...me—an ordinary man, living an ordinary life: no crown, no titles, and no kingdom to look after. I don't believe in love at first sight, but on our last day in the Big Apple, I saw her behind the glass window. She was dancing gracefully, and my breath caught in my throat. It was just my luck to find a woman attractive, but a glass window separates us, and time was not on my side. We exchanged smiles and went about my day. Just when I thought I would never see her again, I bumped into her at a restaurant that night. We locked eyes. There was something about her that drew me in and the feeling I've never felt before. I decided to extend my holiday to get to know her against my best friend's advice. A few weeks of getting acquainted and threatening phone calls from my father, it was time for me to go back home. I didn't want to leave her, but I have duties to uphold as the crown prince. But that farewell wasn't the end. Our story had just begun. I was so sure she was the one, but then she threw me a curveball after one blissful night. It shouldn't have mattered, but being in my position, it was a deal-breaker. It started with a glance, then a smile, and sealed with a kiss. Love should overcome anything, but you know the saying goes—nothing worthwhile comes easy.

About the Author

Originally from the Philippines, I moved to the United States at the age of twelve. I now reside in New Jersey with my hubby, Billy of eighteen years (and counting), and our two girls, Kai & Sami.

In my spare time, I enjoy reading romance novels. Some of my favorite authors are TL Swan ("The Italian," "The Stopover"), KI Lynn (Breach Series—looove this series), and Penelope Bloom (Objects of Attraction Book), Louise Bay ("Duke of Manhattan," "The British Knight"), just to name a few. I enjoy arts & crafts, listening to music, watching movies, a little R & R every now and then, and occasionally a drink or two with good friends and good food. I love food.

My story as an author began with two characters in my head—Liam & Ellie. I wanted to write their story but had no idea where to begin. Their story had been brewing for some time, and I wasn't sure if putting pen to paper would be good enough. I drafted the first few chapters and had a handful of people read them. With a few constructive criticisms and a little faith in myself, I was able to finish Liam & Ellie's story. It took nearly a year to complete this book—from choosing the right font down to choosing the right company to self-publish. I could only hope that anyone who reads Liam and Ellie's story will enjoy taking this journey with them as much as I enjoyed writing their story and giving them life.

Happy reading.
