For Steve Riley, it’s time to make a decision that will change his life forever.

All he did was go looking for an elusive author. All he wanted was the story of a lifetime. As a features journalist for a large paper, Steve thought he’d get the scoop. But a flash flood in a tiny little mountain town traps him with Diana Frazier, a woman whose many fractures in life have left her quiet and withdrawn in her mountain home. As Steve continues to secretly search for author Nick Roberts, he draws some shocking conclusions, the greatest of which is that the woman he’s found is the one he’s been looking for his whole life. When the bridge is repaired and the floodwaters are gone, Steve has to decide if the life he’s started there is worth foregoing the one he’s worked his whole life to build. He can’t just walk away, or at least that’s what he thinks. It all comes down to one photo, and Steve has to make a choice between following the path he thought he wanted to travel and going down a new one that will lead straight to the “happily ever after” of his own story.

The Celtic Fan is an unusual contemporary romance that follows Steve’s tale, but with a bonus: Portions of Nick Roberts’ book appear at the end of every chapter, a post-WWII romance of an injured Scot-Irish American soldier and the young Jewish girl who steals his heart. It’s a poignant reminder that not all stories have a happy ending.

About the Author

Deanndra Hall lives in far western Kentucky with her partner of 30+ years and three crazy little dogs. She spent years writing advertising copy, marketing materials, educational texts, and business correspondence, and designing business forms and doing graphics design. After reading a very popular erotic romance book, her partner said, "You can write better than this!" She decided to try her hand at a novel. In the process, she fell in love with her funny, smart, loving, sexy characters and the things they got into, and the novel became a series.

Deanndra enjoys all kinds of music, kayaking, working out at the local gym, reading, and spending time with friends and family, as well as working in the fiber and textile arts. And chocolate's always high on her list of favorite things!

The Celtic Fan by Deanndra Hall was a fantastic read. The story in this book is amazing with fantastic characters, drama, humor and sizzle. Ms Hall has impressed me with this well written book and I look forward to reading more from this author. The Celtic Fan is a complete book, not a cliff-hanger. I won a copy of this book from DayReader Reviews.

This book is so emotionally profound, not just Steve and Diane's story but also Bill and Claire's story as well. The story within a story was so well done. I was completely immersed and could not put it down. The two stories paralleled each other and yet both stories took different roads. I was amazed and awed by Deanndra Hall's creativity and her ability to cause such extreme emotions. The ability to draw the kind of physical and emotional response that she got from me is an amazing gift. I was an utter mess when I finished this book. It was absolutely beautiful. Both stories contained within these pages were written in a way to make your heart bleed and cry for the characters or rejoice with them. The two stories entwined perfectly and I can't imagine it done better. I did feel Diane got pretty personal fast but then she was awful lonely. When a person is lonely and needing company, craving the sound of someone else voice, who knows what they will do when they finally get it. I still wouldn't change a thing. This book will remain with me for a long time and I will reflect on it many times. I will be recommending The Celtic Fan to as many as will listen.

Man, Deanndra Hall does NOT disappoint you! I read the Me, You & Us series, and I am in love with this author! I will definitely be looking out for more of her work. The Celtic Fan is such a touching book. It was definitely different, but I loved it. I loved how everything “fell” into place. It was really about being older, finding love, learning how to keep love from miles apart. It is about soul searching, building who you are again, and how to keep your feet on solid ground. I also loved how you was reading about the characters, but you was also reading about “The Celtic Fan” at the end of each chapter. Having this at the end of each chapter didn’t over do the book either, it actually molded the book, and it linked everything together. Steve, a journalist, and one of the four friends on an adventure to find Nick Roberts, stumbles upon Diana. Diana lives by herself, off a beaten path, but Steve finds she has a lot of secrets. I really loved reading about the two stories in one, so to speak. I can not wait to read another book by Deanndra Hall!

This book is really 2 stories in one. 4 friends take a trip each year Russ, Jim, Michael, and Steve. Sometimes they are a bust and sometimes they are fantastic. This year they are going to try to find the author Nick Roberts. Nick Roberts wrote a novel that the public loved but no one knows anything about him. There are no pictures or interviews of him. The guys get his address and are determined to find him and meet him. They all pack up and drive the couple of hours to where the address is. They have a plan but just like most years they don’t exactly follow them. Russ plans to say that he invited the rest of the guys up with him for a guy’s weekend while he looks for a place to live and his job is transferring him to the area. Russ and Steve meet with the realtor. She shows them all around town and they ask about the creek road, where Nick Roberts is supposed to live. Russ winds up with a date with the realtor. The next day Russ doesn’t arrive home till that morning so Steve decides he will go see what he can find out all by his self. He packs a back pack with some water, granola bars, extra socks, etc and goes hiking. He walks all the way down the path and finds the house he is looking for. He noticed all the way the all the houses where on the left side of the road and they all had bridges crossing the creek for the owners to get across the creek. He goes up the hill past the last house and then crosses the creek and comes back down to make it look more like he was actually out hiking. While on his way back down he hears some music, then as he gets closer he hears singing. Steve was trying to be careful but wound up falling. The woman made it seem as if she had a gun to the back of Steve’s head. The woman’s name is Diane Frazier. After confirming that Steve wasn’t going to hurt her she invited him in the house. The house where Nick Roberts is supposed to live. Could she be his wife? Is she Nick Roberts? The other story in the book is the story Nick Roberts wrote. I really liked this book. These guys set out to find the famous person and instead get something totally different. They all are single and aren’t really looking for a relationship. They are just looking to get laid. Steve finds something he didn’t even know he was missing. He had been burned bad in the past but there is just something about Diane that drew him in. He knew he was in trouble the minute he saw her. Jim also finds something he wasn’t looking for on this trip. The novel that Nick Roberts wrote that was woven into this story was wonderful. It was about a soldier who has returned home wounded and the Jewish girl he falls in love with. They are kept apart by her father. Her father was be as judgmental as people were to his people and refused to see it. He forbade them to date because he wasn’t Jewish. It mattered not that they loved each other and he wanted to do things the right way. This book was emotional at times. It shows you that love can come when you least expect it. The struggle love can sometimes be and how it is always worth it. I love Deanndra Hall. I have read several books by her and always love them. She is a wonderful author. Looking forward to reading more books by her. I was given this book in return for an honest review.

Delightful! Favorite Quotes: “My next relationship needed to be recently released from a convent for having been celibate too long.  My kinda woman.” “His mother had hated her until she found out the girl was Catholic; then she could walk on water and turn it into wine.” “I want you to tell me you’ll love me forever, and promise that won’t change.” My Review: I unequivocally love this story.  Deanndra Hall is beyond talented and has managed to write a book within a book, so we are actually reading two books at the same time… and they are both stellar, and enthralling, and all absorbing.  Her books are always well-written and richly detailed, but this one transported me with two unique stories.  While I cannot decide whose story I liked best; Steven and Diana’s or Bill and Claire’s, I definitely wanted more of each.

Two stories dovetailing throughout, with similar premises, different times, and hopefully different outcomes. As Steve Riley and his friends take off in search for the reclusive author of the newest runaway bestselling book, he encounters a situation that makes his reassess his life. Priorities and his future have to be evaluated. This interesting story deals with mature and lasting love affair and the consequences of the choices we make. As our couples fall deeper in love, life's obstacles present themselves. Some are insurmountable it seems, only to become a matter of priority in retrospect. Sometimes being together with the person you love is more important than family ties, money in the bank, or even your career. This is a passionate love story. With her usual classy style, Deanndra Hall weaves a romance that blazes the pages. Read the Message from the author. This is her first attempt at a full novel. After years of her manuscript being lost amongst the technological minutia, she was able to find this story and regale us with its beauty.

This is yet another Great book from Deanndra. I have not read all her books yet, but so far all of the ones I have read have be AWESOME. This book is a little different from her other books but don't let that stop you from reading this book. This is two stories in one book, and it will take a bit of time to follow but you will be glad you kept reading, as after you hit that sweet spot, you are good to go and want to finish reading till the end. Lots of emotions happening throughout the stories so make sure you have some tissues as you will need them. This is a great book to take on a trip, to the beach or just sitting by the pool, and or in your warm cozy bed. Heroes, love, twists and surprises throughout the story. A must read.

This book really has two beautiful love stories. Both have twists and turns and some surprises. When your read this book you will need a bunch of hankies! I laughed too but mostly cried. Deanndra has a way in building her characters so you really feel you know them. I love that. This book has stayed in my mind for a couple of days and nights, which they say is a sign of a good book. Also, this book is based around my corner of the world, right here in the good ole south, thanks Deanndra. Any of Deanndra books are awesome reads, you won't be disappointed!

his is an amazing story and one that needs to be read. If you have read other books by Deanndra be aware this is not like those at all. This story is actually two stories in one book going on at the same time but this does not distract from the brilliance of the story. I was awed how well the two stories weaved together perfectly. I am just simply loved this book and hated ever time I had to put it down. This is one that I will be reading again as it is one of those you can read again and again

I’ll admit I was prejudice going in to read this book. I became a fan of Deanndra Hall from the first book that I read. This book did not disappoint. I found it to be sweet, hot, touching, and at times a little quirky. The characters were brought to life in a way that few books can hope to achieve. I like the fact that at some points in the story you are reading a book within a book. Yes the characters are a tad older than most romance stories, but in context with the story, it only added to the awesomeness. Deanndra has a way of drawing a reader in until she is done with them. They are her willing book slaves until her story has been told. It is rare to find a storyteller that can capture your attention and hold it throughout the telling. I will happily be her slave for every book she puts out. I would give this story a 10, but they only allow 5. The emotions in this book are something that I feel everyone has experienced at least once in their life. You can feel the insecurities and heartbreak right along with the characters. Read this book, and you will feel like you have made new friends.
