All Izzy wants is for something interesting to happen in her sleepy little town. But her wish becomes all too real when a mysterious song floats through the woods and lures her little sister Hen into the forest...where she vanishes. A frantic search leads to a strange hole in the ground that Izzy enters. But on the other side, she discovers that the hole was not a hole, this place is not Earth, and Hen is not lost. She's been stolen away to the land of Faerie, and it's up to Izzy to bring her home.
But inside Faerie, trouble is brewing-and Izzy is in way over her head. A ragtag group of outlaw Changelings offer to help, but she must decide whether a boulder that comes to life, a girl who looks like a ghost, and a boy who is also a stag can help her save Hen before it's too late.

This was a very enchanting and fairytale like story. With wonderful characters, this story kept you turning the pages. I loved Lug and even Morvanna. Full of excitement, friendship and dreams of a child. A must read for all lovers of fairies.
"The Changelings" brings fairytales to life. Izzy has always loved to read fairytales. When her family moves to a new town, she is interested in the "witch" next door, Marian. She and her sister, Hen, are spying on her before they have a fight (they get caught because Hen is too loud). Later, Hen is taken into the woods following some music. Izzy tries to follow her but fails to stop her before it is too late. Upon talking to Marian, she learns that the fairy tales she has read are real and that Hen was taken by Peter Piper, who exchanges human children with changelings. However, no changeling took Hen's place. Izzy goes on a quest into the fairy realm to find her sister. Along the way, she learns that changelings are disappearing and that the new queen Morvanna is up to no good. She travels to Avhalon for the apple festival where humans are adopted by fairies and finally finds where her sister is- and also learns about Morvanna's evil plots. It's up to Izzy and her new friends to save the changelings and the fairy realm. The book is well written and a lot of fun. I think it's an older middle grade novel, as there are some scary and (light) thriller elements as Izzy and company encounter some scary creatures and their lives are at stake. For older middle grade readers who love fairytales, I think this will definitely be a win. It's a fast moving story with lots to keep their attention all the way to the fantastic end (that you won't see coming). Please note that I received this book from the publisher through netgalley in exchange for my honest review.
