The Defendant is about a young boy Daniel who shoots a man who was raping his mother. Goes on and discuss how this effects Daniel and his family. The Defendant also discusses the issues of gun safety in the community. Chase Barrington is Detective Sergeant at Watervale Police Station, and his boss is Commander Riley Munro. Incidentally is Josie Munro brother which cause Chase some sleepless nights. Readers will have a laugh about the way Riley finds out about Chase and Josie. Josie Munro is the local Child Psychologist in Watervale who was called in by Riley to help Daniel sort out what happened. Due to Daniel and his brother Jason need emergency accommodations until their family arrives they ended up with Josie. However, The Defendant continues to entwine the young boys forcing Chase Barrington and Josie Munro to cross paths again after they broke up in High School. I recommend this book.
