I really enjoyed this age gap/forbidden romance. Cassidy and Greg's romance features plenty of hot and steamy scenes and a lot of complications. It was incredibly easy to get into this book and to feel the attraction and its pull between these two characters. So this book really delivers in this area but it did fall disappointingly short in the emotional department. I would have loved to see a much deeper and detailed emotional storyline because there was the potential for so much intense, raw, powerful and pain filled drama that was simply never touched on and explored. To me this is just a tragic loss. Also the book is told in only Cassidy's POV and that too was limiting. Regardless, this book was a very entertaining and deliciously steamy read and I definitely plan on reading future books in this series.

This is my first Nikki Sloane book and I absolutely loved it. I am a sucker for a good older/younger story and then you add the ex-boyfriend father as the new love interests. Oh yea, you have my interest peaked. I did have a little issue in the middle when Greg has a choice to make. Cassidy acts more like an adult then Greg does. But in the end, he grows up and makes the right decision. This is a good age gap story that I could not put down. Cassidy and Greg are a great couple when they finally slow down and become a team. Preston has a lot of growing up to do. But most men at that age do unless they are forced to. I enjoyed this book and will be reading more of Nikki's books in the future.

Watch out, you pearl clutchers! The Doctor is a deliciously yummy read, a perfect guilty pleasure for those of us who like to indulge in naughty, taboo reads. This well-written and explicit romance comes from the #QueenOfTaboo (well, she does have a banned book to her credit) and it doesn’t disappoint! I loved the age gap between the main characters; Dr. Lowe was old enough to be Cassidy’s father, gasp! Not to mention who hasn’t indulged in a little fantasy starring a hot doctor? Yeah, I’m thinking of Dr. McDreamy and Dr. McSteamy combined. This is a fun poolside read, or a ‘sit in a corner and hide out read’, wherever your idea of a perfect place to lounge while reading; I recommend a house call from Dr. Lowe, or as I like to call him, Dr. McDaddy! Cassidy and Preston had dated for three years, while in high school and college, and she was feeling they’ve grown complacent in their relationship. Now that they’re both home for summer break she doesn’t know why Preston is more interested in playing video games with his friends, and spending time with them, rather than her. She’d always been too mature for her age and realizes Preston needs to grow up and stop being the spoiled young man he’s always been. Something had shifted between them, he’d grown distant in the last year, and they seemed worlds apart. When he showed no sympathy over her grandmother’s death, not even showing up for the funeral, Cassidy decides to call an end to the relationship. “I mourned the death of our relationship. I missed the guy I’d loved, but knew he was never coming back.” It’s a good thing Preston’s father, the single and handsome Dr. Greg Lowe, is there to offer an understanding ear and comfort her. It soon evolves into much more when Cassidy and Dr. Lowe begin to play out their fantasies. They agree it will be just a summer fling and keep it a secret between just the two of them. “I wasn’t invisible—he made it sound like my presence was everything. It was something I hadn’t had in a long time, was desperate to hear, and it meant even more coming from him.” Father and son have a strained and distant relationship, due to choices Greg made when he was younger and impacted Preston’s childhood; something he’s still paying for years later. So when things begin to heat up between Greg and Cassidy, and they realize this could be more than a summer fling, he knows Preston will never forgive him for getting involved with her. Greg needs to end things before they take a turn for the worst, and everyone involved is hurt beyond repair. In between the raunchy and erotic sexscapades there’s a wickedly good story, with funny and sometimes angsty lines that had me either swallowing a knot in my throat or laughing out loud. “You doctors sure fall into the stereotype of loving golf. So much conversation about ‘playing the back nine.’ I pretended they were using a euphemism for an*l just to keep it interesting.”

4.5 salacious stars The Doctor by Nikki Sloane sizzled and popped with heat and sexual awareness from the very first encounter between these two forbidden love characters. Cassiday is in her first year of college and dating her boyfriend of three years. Now, during summer break, Preston has become distant and Cassiday breaks it off, and turns to another man for solace. Nothing really wrong with that, except the other man is much older and Preston’s dad to boot. Greg, a 40 year old trauma surgeon should have known better, but the temptation that Cassiday has provided is more than he can resist. This was a hot, steamy story that made me quiver in all the right places. Greg is like having your very own ‘McSteamy’ and McDreamy’ rolled into one. He knows what he wants and given the chance, he takes no prisoners. It’s a no holds barred rush of all kinds of dirty fantasies and fulfillment. If you want to test you kindle’s melting point not to mention your own, then One Click this raunchy tale of taboo lust today. Your BOB will thank you for it. LOL

Wow! I just finished the book, and so many things are going off inside my head. First of all, this story is awesome!! I am so glad to get another Nikki Sloane book. Hot alpha doctor, (who happens to be her ex-boyfriend’s father), feisty figurative girl next door, some naughty secrets, some very naughty not-so-secrets going on, lots of gasping, and I couldn’t put this book down. Ok, I put it down once to go to bed last night, but then I came right back to it today. I don’t want to say too much about this book, because anything can be kind of a spoiler, and I think readers should go in not knowing much. Know that I got so many feels with this book. I was squirming for a good part of it; also laughing, almost crying, cursing and yelling some, and swooning. Come on, it’s Nikki! Did I mention there’s a hot doctor? Yeah, there is.
