About the Author

Elizabeth Gill was born in Newcastle upon Tyne, in England, and was brought up in a tiny village near Durham, where it has been known to snow in July, as her father owned a steelworks there. She spent a year in upstate New York at Emma Willard School and has been writing since the age of twenty-five. She is the author of absorbing sagas including The Singing Winds, Far from My Father's House, and The Road to Berry Edge.
