The Forgotten Sisters was a good conclusion to the Princess Academy series. At first I was a little disappointed that the setting a and characters changed so much, but I quickly grew to like the new additions and location. Miri once again proves herself to be resourceful and smart when it comes to sticky situations. She manages to win over important people and negotiate successfully with others. The book ended on a happy note, leaving me satisfied that all was right (or headed in that direction) with her world. This is a good series for middle grade and young adult readers, both girls and boys. It has plenty of action while delivering deeper themes throughout the story. Content: clean Source: I received a digital galley of this book in exchange for an honest review.

It is a good book but the first two were the best. Some things r so common in other books like wen miri "fainted like a lady" in order to trick som traders. The whole plot is common. Three sisters tryong to turn from rags to riches.......if u read it u wood understand. The ending was great with the scene bout queen sabet

U think this is gonna happen but the total opposite does. Also peder and miri r sooo cute together. Shannon hsle really describes the whole book well along with complete description on characers. I do say though you must read them in order. :)

4.5 Stars I enjoy Shannon Hale's original fairy tale Princess Academy Series.  She creates a world and characters that I just love. The books do need to be read in order, Princess Academy, Princess Academy: Palace of Stone, and this third book, Princess Academy: The Forgotten Sisters.  The first book introduces this fairy tale, the characters, the setting, and the relationships we see throughout the series.  The second book continues the story with the characters facing more mature conflict and seeing their relationships grow. In this third book, Miri, the main character, evolves even further as she is forced in to a situation that pushes her out of her comfort zone.  As she works through physical, emotional and mental difficulties, she becomes a heroine like she's never been before.  I am impressed with how she cares for others, rises above her fears, faces adventures, solves mysteries and "saves the day".  I do feel at times that the story drags a bit.  I want it to move a little faster at points, but those are few. I really enjoy seeing the relationships grow in this story.  In the first book we learn about young friendships and growing romance.  Now that the characters are older and have faced life outside their small village, the relationships, both friendship and romantic, grow.  With the introduction of these three "forgotten sisters", we see new friendships grow as well. I love this series and recommend it.  It is clean, engaging, adventurous, and has a bit of young romance too. Warnings: None I would let my 14 and 17 year old daughters read this book and I think they would like it.

This was a good final installment to the Princess Academy series. Miri can finally go back to her beloved home and family. On the day of her departure, the King calls her back for an important mission: to train the King's "cousins" to become potential brides to the neighboring country, Stora. Reluctantly, Miri accepts. The girls live in a swamp, scavenge for food, and mistrust everyone. Miri has got her work cut out for her. With the help of those around her, she uncovers a plot, earns respect, escapes prison, and saves the royal family. This isn't the best book of the series, but it still has the same wit, fun and adventures as the others. Highly recommended.

The first novel in this series, PRINCESS ACADEMY, came out when I was still in high school. I'm several years out of college now, and I still love these characters and this world just as much now as I did then. Maybe more. Miri and her friends had come a long way from the class of girls chosen as potential princesses, and the trials they face have grown even larger in scale. Time and again, these girls must rely on the strength of their friendships, their love of their homeland, and the lessons they've learned at the princess academy to keep themselves and their nation safe. My absolute favorite thing about THE FORGOTTEN SISTERS is the strength of its female friendships. There's so much support where there could be rivalry, and modesty where there could be pride. The focus of the story is on the damage that's done when a nation ignores its female voices--not on the petty disagreements or small, unhealed wounds between mothers and daughters and sisters and friends. This is a girl power series if ever I've seen one, and we need a thousand more series like it. We need Miri's logic and poise, Britta's gracious leadership, and Astrid's strength. We need boys like Steffan and Peder, who respond to the opinions of everyone around them--male or female--with courtesy and respect. Most of all, we need to know that a world in which progress can be made and people can listen and learn from each other is possible, and Shannon Hale has created a perfect one within the pages of these books. Absolutely, 100% recommend.
