A wonderful new read from Ava Miles! "The Gate to Everything" is the first book in a new series by Ava Miles. The "Once Upon a Dare" series is a spin-off from the "Dare Valley" series dealing with Blake Cunningham's football brothers. This first installment in the new series was fantastic! This book focuses on quarterback Jordan Dean and his childhood sweetheart, Grace Kincaid. Jordan and Grace have always been the "golden couple". They've been together through thick and thin with Jordan's career in football and Grace's career as a chef. As Jordan's gotten more and more famous, Grace is having a harder time dealing with the by-product of that fame, the paparazzi and tabloid journalism. Eventually, it becomes too much for Grace, she breaks it off with Jordan, and flees to Italy. Months go by and when Grace returns from Italy, she meets with Jordan to tell him that she's pregnant. This is when the story really takes off as it has both of them dealing with still being in love with each other, but her still having a hard time with his popularity. Him wanting to keep her and their baby safe but stymied on how to do it. It's a fabulous story line that moves along at a decent pace, neither too slow or too fast. While both characters are richly complex and well-rounded, I definitely connected more with Grace at the beginning, probably because I'm introverted and not comfortable in the spotlight either. I wasn't so sure about Jordan at first, but as the book went on, I grew to love him even more than Grace. He cares so deeply and yet, like many men, he's so afraid of being vulnerable in front of Grace. Yet, it's only by being vulnerable that he and Grace connect at a deeper level. It's a great romance on top of being a wonderful insider's look at what fame and the spotlight must feel like to some spouses of sports stars, male or female. I loved the ending and I'm looking forward to the next one in this series! Pick it up and read it. It's a great feel-good story!

THE GATEWAY TO EVERYTHING is book one in the brand new Once Upon A Dare series by Ava Miles. It is the first book in a series based on the group of football players that we met in a previous Dare Valley book. This book follows the relationship of quarterback Jordan Dean and his long-time love, chef Grace Kincaid. We can see here how celebrities are harrased because of the publicity a picture or information of their public life will give magazines or TV programs. Jordan and Grace need to live their relationship between the glamour of fame in Jordan's life and the simplicity and quietness of Grace's. Jordan's life was lived completely in the media’s view so Grace's life was also continuously scrutinized. The press was cruel. Grace was a private woman and dealing with the public scrutiny was not easy. She and Jordan loved each other, but Grace became more unhappy and distant, while Jordan was enjoying his fame and public life. The inevitable happened and their long relationship ended. Soon after their break up, Grace discovers she is pregnant. Before they had broken up, Jordan had secretly built a replica of a yellow house Grace had always loved so she could be near her restaurant and he could be near his team. He convinces Grace to move into the house and he will live next door with a yellow gate separating them. That way he can be a part of the baby’s life. He still loves Graces and hopes she will give him a second chance. This story is a sample on how the press can be so cruel, and the lengths some will go to to get the picture they want, alarming and shocking. Not to mention how it affect the people the press are stalking. Through it all, Jordan is still in love with Grace, and is determined to fight to keep her with him. He loves her enough to give up the career he has always dreamed of to prove to her that she is more important than anything to him. The Gate to Everything is for anyone who knows what it is like to love someone so much that you know it is best for both of you to end the relationship. This was true for Grace when she ended her longtime relationship with pro football player Jordan. She knew it was time to pursue her dreams of having a family, and Jordan was on the road to big success in the NFL. This was all true until their lifestyles changed because of Ella, born almost 9 months after the end of their relationship. Jordan continues to fight for a forever with Grace because of their continued great love for one another, despite late night feeds, a fussy baby, and budding full time careers. However, Grace is not sure Jordan can sacrifice football for family and that’s what their final decision of a “happily every after” is all about. Ava is great writer, but this particular story just didn't grab me. I continued to put the book down. Grace and Jordan are good people that are put into a complicated situation with finding out they're to become parents after breaking up. They still love each other and want to do what's best for their child, but I felt there were too many decisions that were made based on Grace's hormones and hurt feelings. Again, this is not a bad story, it just wasn't one of my favorites that have been put out there. Very much looking forward to the next adventures in Dare Valley and Dare River. received an eBook copy from the publisher for the purpose of an honest review. xcellent start to a new series by Ava Miles! I really enjoyed Grace and Jordan's story. It is heartfelt, fun and there are some very "real" moments in this book. I laughed, I cried and I had a hard time putting it down! One of my favorite things about Ava's books is the appearance of people who have appeared in previous books! I loved getting a glimpse of some of them in this book and look forward to someday reading their stories too! I received an eBook copy from the publisher for the purpose of an honest review. Anything is possible, even navigating the difficulties of a long term failed relationship between two people who love each other, but seem to have very different ideas about happiness. Ava Miles’ Once Upon a Dare series begins in earnest with The Gate to Everything. Jordan and Grace were able to overcome various obstacles in order to come to terms with how they truly feel about each other and how they envisioned a future together. It was especially risky because they were a high profile couple since Jordan was starting quarterback for the Atlanta football team, and they had an unexpected baby on the way. Each Ava Miles novel highlights different themes in relationships. In The Gate to Everything, Grace is an atypical football girlfriend since she’s invested in her own career as a chef, even as she loves Jordan. At first, Grace fears not being glamorous enough for Jordan, thanks to ongoing negative reports in the paparazzi press who called her “(Jordan) Dean’s Dull Girlfriend,” as well as harshly criticized her style and her anatomy—and what woman can’t relate to that? A few short months later, Grace discovers she’s pregnant, shares the news with Jordan, and soon afterward, they’re living on the same property in a replica of Grace’s dream house he’d built in anticipation of proposing to her. They’re able to share parenting duties, even though they live separately and due to Jordan’s fame, they’re constantly under public scrutiny. Relationships won’t work without mutual trust and respect, and the strong desire to do what’s right for individuals and as a couple. Jordan and Grace learned to become truly intimate by sharing their fears and doing their best to work on them, which is the ultimate ingredient in fostering, nurturing, and strengthening relationships because they wanted to do right, not just for themselves, but for their beautiful baby girl, Ella. Of course that always requires work, and so it’s a good thing that neither Jordan and Grace were afraid of that. Some people decide to marry because they’ve been a couple for so long, and it’s believed to be the “natural” thing to do. Others marry because there’s a baby on the way. Neither Jordan nor Grace chose to follow those rules since they truly loved each other and knew each person deserved the best, even if that meant they couldn’t be together as a couple. Fortunately, they were able to prove that real love can only be achieved through true intimacy, and that’s the only way to stroll together happily through The Gate to Everything. The Gate to Everything by Ava Miles I absolutely loved this book. I especially liked Jordan Dean and Grace Kincaid. They made a perfect couple, but Grace couldn't overcome Jordan's football success. When Grace told Jordan he was going to be a father he stepped up and did all he could for her and the baby. It was so awesome that he built a duplicate of her dream home in Atlanta next to a house he built for himself. I'm so happy they decided to live together and try to make a go of it. I was in tears throughout the book reading about Grace's struggle. I was very happy they decided to get married as they each wanted it so bad. Thank you Ava for a very wonderful and touching book. Review for The Gate to Everything This is the story of Grace and Jordan. They have been dating prior to Jordan becoming a big football star and all Grace wanted was to get married. Jordan wasn’t ready for that, he kept wanting to do more, accomplish more before he got married. Grace had enough and called it quits even though they loved each other. Grace then finds out she is pregnant months later and she calls Jordan. They then decide to co-parent as Grace doesn’t want Jordan to marry her now because she thinks it is because of the baby. It’s not, Jordan realizes what he has lost and loves Grace fiercely and wants her back. This is a story of two friends who work their way back to each other. I find Grace reluctant and scared to get back together with Jordan. I really liked the character of Jordan. He is growing up, becoming more understanding with Grace and shows a maturity with Grace being pregnant and following her wishes. The gate between their houses plays a minor, although an important part in the story. Ava really creates strong characters you can identify with. I also liked the jobs of the characters – chef and quarterback. Two of my favorite things – food and football! I really enjoyed this book and look forward to more stories from Ava! I received an eBook copy from the publisher for the purpose of an honest review. I was not compensated for this review; all conclusions are my own.

I have just finished reading “The Gate to Everything” a second time. Ava has yet again reached deeply into the lives of her characters, delivering what we have come to expect from her books – something moving. This is a truly wonderful story about the challenges of love, life, children and relationships. Life sure is tough some times and Ava knows, clearly, it’s how you meet the tough times that make you strong. Ava’s characters are real and honest; her writing clearly comes from the heart. Thanks for another great read … can’t wait for what’s next. I received an eBook copy from the publisher for the purpose of an honest review. A beautiful beginning to a new series! Jordan Dean is football's rock-star quarterback, enjoying the life of money, parties, and fame. Grace Kincaid, his long-time girlfriend, is having a hard time dealing with his well as the wait for a proposal. Grace decides to end things with Jordan...then discovers she is pregnant with his child! As a surprise for Grace, Jordan had re-created her dream home on the same property where he was building a new home for himself. He entices her to live there raise their daughter so he could be close to them. The gate between their houses becomes his gate to everything. Ms. Miles has created a terrific new series featuring the Once Upon A Dare buddies introduced in "The Bridge To A Better Life". I love how she ties all her series together, while keeping them very much in their own "world". I highly recommend this book! This is the first book in Ava's new series. We met the Once Upon a Dare guys in The Bridge to a Better Life. The feelings this bring to me is heartbreak and hope. It's so heartbreaking watching Jordan and Grace two people who love one another so strongly lose their way. They are given a gift and the hope of a second chance. Will all the issues that broke them apart repeat? Or will these two find the strength their love gives them to grab a loving future together. I can't wait for more from the Once Upon a Dare series. I truly enjoy when the all get together. Always get a good laugh out of me while reading those parts. This one took me on an emotional roller coaster, but the end makes it all worth it for what Grace and Jordan go through. My heart felt happy after reading this one.

This book is the first book in the Once Upon a Dare series which is about a group of young men who all did football camp in Dare Valley together and their friendship and lives now that they are famous football players. Grace and Jordan have known each other since they were little kids. They developed their relationship from friends at a young age to a couple. Jordan has developed into a famous football quarterback and Grace is moving her way up as a top chef in a 5 star restaurant. As Jordan finally gets more successful with football his fame keeps growing and becomes a lot for Grace to take on. As things keep going Grace feels like the plans she had of her and Jordan getting married and living in the little yellow house her dad and Jordan built together years ago is disappearing. She sees Jordan’s fame as something that has become insane and she can’t deal with anymore. Grace decided they are done and they break up right before Christmas. As fate would have it now that they are not together anymore Grace finds out she is pregnant with his bay. As Jordan and Grace try to deal with the issues of fame and who that has affected them and their relationship. Can they figure things out and become a real family? I loved this book. It gives a great insight to living the life of fame and what it can do to your family. I really felt bad for both of them and cannot imagine all of the people every day who have to deal with the craziness. I do feel like Grace’s character was a little without a backbone through most of the story and that is a little frustrating but I think that was the idea of her coming from a small town. That being said I still loved the book and the outcome. This is a great story. I have not found a book Ava Miles has don’t that I haven’t loved. I can’t wait for the next Once Upon Dare book with Sam. "I received an eBook copy from the publisher for the purpose of an honest review. This is one of those books that you can't help falling in love with the characters and the story itself. Our two main characters are from the same hometown and have been dating for awhile, all on the premise that they would get married, at least on Grace's side. Jordan is at his peak as a NFL quarterback and wants to enjoy the moment. When a surprise happens, it is their goal to try and get along, on Grace's part but Jordan has suddenly discovered he wants more. This story quickly gets the reader involved and is wonderfully written and emotionally charged. Well done, Ava. Again. I received an eBook copy from the publisher for the purpose of an honest review. Jordan and Grace have been together for a long time. Grace wants to get married, Jordan does too, but not just yet. Since Jordan is a big football star, he get lots of publicity and the press isn't very kind to her. They think she is dull and that Jordan can do better. Jordan just shrugs it off, but Grace can't. So, she breaks it off with him. Several months later, Grace tells Jordan that she is pregnant. He misses Grace and still loves her, but can they get through the negative publicity. That has changed. It has only gotten worse since he won the Super Bowl. Can they raise their daughter, stay safe and be together with the press hounding them constantly? They both need to re-evaluate their lives.

I love Ava Miles' heartfelt romances! Grace and Jordan's love story left me breathless and coming back for more! Grace and Jordan have known each other forever. They thought they had found their happily ever after, but lately things were more strained and difficult in their relationship than happy. Grace was finding being in the limelight that came with Jordan's sport career extremely difficult and waiting for him to ask her to marry him was taking forever. She didn't want to wait forever because she saw them settling down and having children soon. Jordan didn't see a reason to settle down so soon because he knew that he was only going to have his career a few more years and having a family could wait. He also thought Grace's issue with the media was at times blown out of proportion even if he didn't approve of them being disrespectful towards her. Just as they are getting used to being apart for the first time in years Grace drops a bombshell on Jordan that he can't ignore even if he wanted to. This news makes Jordan all in and as far as he's concerned there is no going back. Can he make it work? Can he have it all...a career, a marriage and a family? Or is he going to have to give up on something that he loves? I loved this story and I can't wait to read more books in this series! I was given an ARC for an honest review. All conclusions are mine and mine alone.

They were each one's Gate To Everything, July 8, 2016 By sugmadsdream Grace and Jordan had been together from childhood. They had each followed their dreams and reached their goals. But their love had not proved to be strong enough to weather the stresses of Jordan's celebrity status. Add to the mix that Jordan isn't sure how much to commit to Grace and the fact that she is unexpectedly pregnant. The result is an on-again-off-again romance complicated by a third party, their baby girl. This book spins you around and jerks you back. I was not sure whether to cry for them or smack them upside their heads and tell them to grow up. The one saving point was that they were very loving, concerned parents, even if they weren't convinced they should stay together. I was frustrated at times with the characters, but I was sucked in from the start and couldn't put it down. I know you will love it, too. What a great beginning to a new series.

Ava has done it again another great book that I couldn't put down. This is the first book in a new series of books based on a group of football players that have been mentioned in the previous Dare Valley book, there are also glimpses of previous main characters from the Dare Valley Series. This book is about quarterback Jordan Dean and his long-time girlfriend Grace Kincaid, when his football career takes off Grace feels that they are drifting apart not helped by the cruel press making her feel she isn't good enough for Jordan. Grace wants the little Yellow house in their hometown and a family he wants to party and play football. Grace finally calls an end to their relationship she finds herself pregnant but unwilling to step back into that lifestyle she agrees to co-parent with Jordan and moves in next door to him. Jordan realises that Grace and the baby are the most important people in his life and does everything he can to win her back and show her that he can change. I really enjoyed this book and am looking forward to the next book in the series. "I received an eBook copy from the publisher for the purpose of an honest review. Ava Mile's writing just gets better and better. When I read a new book from her, I think that it is the best book she has ever written but when she releases another book, the new book seems to be even better. I especially love her Dare River series and now Once Upon A Dare series. The titles themselves are so meaningful and each book in these series teaches us such powerful lessons and touches the heart deeply. Jordan has overtaken John Parker (from The Chocolate Garden) to be the ultimate hero in my heart. Yes, he did make mistakes but I really love how he changed. I was really touched by all that he tried to do for Grace and I think he more than compensated for all the stupid mistakes he had made. Grace, on the other hand, like most of Ava Mile's heroines, is one stubborn woman. Although I can understand that she was just trying to protect her heart, I was really exasperated with her many a times. I'm glad Jordan managed to touch her heart in the end. ** I received an ARC provided by the author in exchange for a honest review

The insights provided by Ava Miles with each new book she writes are thought-provoking. In this book the celebrity status and its effect on family is a key element defining the characters. The somewhat immature aspect of each character and how they handle their personal and public lives will keep you reading to see "what happens." I enjoy the details that define each. I wait eagerly for the next new book to see more of the richly-woven texture of the intertwined characters. As always, this is a "must read." This book is about Jordan and Grace, two people who love each other but have trouble handling a relationship with Jordan’s fame as a quarterback. Grace doesn’t like the way the media makes her feel, so she breaks up with Jordan. When she discovers she is pregnant and tells Jordan, they decide to live close to each other and raise their baby together. Each realizes that they need to put work into their relationship to make it work which they both want to happen. I received an eBook copy from the publisher for the purpose of an honest review. Grace's biological clock is ticking. She is going to be 33 soon. She had always imagined that her and Jordan Dean, the winning quarterback for the Atlanta Rebels, wold be married with a baby and living in her dream home in Deadwood, SD. Instead she is at another lavish party feeling as dull as the media describes her. Grace is an award winning chef and has never felt so insecure. She is listening to her mom on the phone tell her that her dream house has been sold. She has to make a decision about her future. When Jordan finds her on the balcony watching the party, she tells him that she needs to break up with him because neither one of them are happy. They are growing into two different people who are too far apart in what they want. There is no way for either of them to know they will be brought back together in a big way! Ava Miles new Once Upon A Dare series starts out with a bang. As she weaves Grace and Jordan's story, you begin to see her real talent for making her characters real. I want to go to Marcello's and have dinner. Ava shows how Grace and Jordan grow and overcome their fears together. Grace who is so successful and sure as a chef is unsure and afraid in her personal life. Jordan is decisive and confident on the football field is still harboring insecurities from his childhood. This was an enthralling journey with Jordan and Grace. I love Ava Miles'Dare Valley series but the Once Upon A Dare series is opening up new areas of pleasure and knowledge for this football fan!
