Overview

The Golden Dynasty by Kristen Ashley

Circe Quinn, the office manager of her father's moving company, goes to sleep at home and wakes up in a corral filled with women wearing sacrificial virgin attire - and she's one of them. She figures (rightly) this is not good and soon finds out that she's not having a wild dream, she's living a frightening nightmare where she's been transported to a barren land populated by a primitive people. Then, in short order, she is installed very unwillingly on her white throne of horns as their Queen.

Dax Lahn is the king of Suh Tunak, the Horde of the nation of Korwahk. With one look at Circe, he knows she will be his bride and together they will start the Golden Dynasty of legend.

Circe and Lahn are separated by language, culture and the small fact she's from a parallel universe and has no idea how she got there or how to get home. But facing challenge after challenge, Circe finds her footing as Queen of the brutal Korwahk Horde and wife to its King. Then she makes friends. Then she finds herself falling in love with this primitive land, its people and especially their savage leader.

About the Author

Kristen Ashley grew up in Indiana, but has lived in Colorado and the West Country of England. Thus she has been blessed to have friends and family around the globe. Her posse is loopy (to say the least), but loopy is good when you want to write. Kristen was raised in a house with a large and multi-generational family. They lived on a very small farm in a small town in the heartland and existed amongst the strains of Glenn Miller, The Everly Brothers, REO Speedwagon and Whitesnake (and the wardrobes that matched).
Needless to say, growing up in a house full of music, clothes and love was a good way to grow up. And as she keeps growing up, it keeps getting better.

I finished this book 24 hours ago and it is still preoccupying my mind. It's very apparant K.A. is a Game of Thrones fan; least the first season with Khal Drogo and the Khalisi. At least that was my favorite storyline from that show. Totally hot, savage, alpha male. K.A. is the queen of writing the hottest males.

There are shades of Game of Thrones here, but the book was great! It had great character development, and while the sex was great, there was a storyline that made sense. World building was excellent.

I enjoyed this a lot more than I thought I would. I'm not much of a fantasy reader, but this was "normal enough" that I could enjoy the story. I did have a problem with the heroine in this book... She got over stuff really easily.. Things I think would scar a woman for life. But overall I enjoyed the read.

I love all her books and this one is no exception. Her writing is kick a** and the detailed descriptions of everything brings her books to life and makes reading them easy and fun!!! ****On a side note. This book does have rape and some violence in it even though it is a romance novel. Please do not purchase this book and leave a bad review because of this. The writing is superb and the story is awesome! If you can not handle reading this type of book then i would suggest you skip this one.

Great novel with Mega-Alpha male heroes. My only complaint might be the ammount of clothing descriptions.

Why did I wait so long to meet Dax? I’ve heard time after time about him, but his hotness cannot be conveyed. It must be experienced. The heat and alpha factors are off the charts. Dax is definitely on my top book boyfriends list. Many readers picture Jason Momoa as their Dax Lahn and use pictures of him as Khal Drogo for inspiration. That’s a pretty good way to think of him in my opinion because there are similarities in looks and behaviors. Warning, he is not for everyone. Where he comes from women aren’t equal to men so this story does reflect that. Rape and such do happen.

Another good book by Kristen Ashley, but there are parts surrounding the wife hunt that were a little difficult to read. Turns out well though, but not the best start to the couple's love life.

Much darker than the first in this series. And KA developed an entire language to go with the world building. Not sure but this may be my top pick of what has become one of my favorite series. An unusual plot even for this unique series. And since it's KA, of course the hero is a very hot alpha! Love this series.

The fantasyland series by KA is fab-u-lous. It could not have been written any different and been told any better. KA's imagination is something to behold.

I've read the whole series now and have to say that the first book is my favorite! I have read this one several times. The rest of the series is good (some parts dragged on a bit), but this book is the best! Hope you give this book a try, you won't be disappointed!
