Overview

The Ground Rules by Roya Carmen

1. Don't sleep around.

2. Don't kiss and tell.

3. Be nice.

4. Don't text or call.

5. Don't fall in love.

The rules were simple...until they weren't.

I have everything I ever thought I could want: a nice home, a job I love, two beautiful girls, and my husband, Gabe - my high school sweetheart who still rocks my world. If you ask anyone to describe me they would say, "Oh, Mirella? She's such a nice girl." And that's true...until a mysterious, peculiar man and his beautiful wife enter our lives.

Weston and Bridget Hanson are no ordinary couple-they're stunning, enigmatic, and sexy as hell. During the course of one unexpected evening, my ordinary world is turned upside down. How could it not be when Weston and Bridget propose the unthinkable? And when the unthinkable is so very tempting, giving in becomes inevitable.

It sounds so logical and simple. Just five rules and we can all have what we desire. But the heart doesn't follow rules, and now passion, jealousy, and confusion threaten to tear everything apart.

I really enjoyed this series. It was well written and each book was over 230 pages. It kept me interested until the end. I will read more from this author.

Reviewed by Francesca and posted at Under The Covers Book Blog Wow! I am pleasantly shocked at how much I enjoyed this. Why shocked? Because it tests my comfort levels to deal with all this emotional tangled mess. There are a lot of blurred lines here and I would normally throw this out the window because I can’t take it but it’s a testament to a great author that instead of doing that I’m drawn and compelled to know how this will end. And I honestly don’t know what outcome I prefer. So if you’ve read the first book you know the arrangement between Gabe/Mirella and Weston/Bridgette had come to an end because feelings were starting to get involved. But it was abrupt and too many things were left open. When Weston reaches out and pushes (mighty hard) for a new arrangement, I was both thrilled and heartbroken. I wanted to see these two couples heal from what they’d done but I also wanted to explore this new side of Weston that we were glimpsing. And that is exactly what THE GROUND RULES REWRITTEN is about. Yes, the arrangement is back, but this was so different than the first. If anything, it’s only left me more torn about the whole situation. My emotions were a mess! This is told again from Mirella’s POV and we get to see more of her interactions with her husband as well as with Weston. Let me just say this. Both Gabe and Weston are amazing and Mirella has off the charts chemistry with both. The sex scenes were killer and then when you get the jealousy involved and maybe let one watch…. *dies* This was an all-nighter read for me. I thought I would just start this up at 10pm for a bit before I went to bed and I was compelled to read more until I finished it in the wee hours of the morning. It was unputdownable. Yeah, I made that word up. I must warn you this ends in a cliffhanger… and it leaves me DYING for the next book!

Mirella and Gabe have been married for 18 years, have been together since high school. On one date night they meet Weston and Bridget, and you can tell they are well off. From their expense clothes to their demeanor. When Weston propositions Mirella, she is surprised. But she is finding it hard to not be attracted to him and Bridget seems to want Gabe. Can Mirella and Gabe follow through without destroying their marriage? Will any of the four break the five ground rules? This was a really good story that for me seemed a little slow at times but the storyline was great.
