Reading this book, and following the conversation in it of Master and student, was like taking a journey, inward. The book is beautifully written, lucid and deeply insightful. It gives us a way of understanding how to strive to live a life of 'effortless focus,' and balance, in the midst of our busy daily lives; I will be reading this book many times!

In the times of information overload and pile of lifeless facts, this book touched my heart with its aliveness of wisdom. Being a yoga instructor, I have witnessed students walking into class with an innate longing to connect with themselves. However, the packaged understanding of yoga and meditation often clouds the cry of heart's longing and coerces one into what is "supposed" to be done. Daaji empathically demystifies yoga and meditation in a manner which simple, practical and logical. The book is in form of student and teacher dialogue between Joshua and Daaji. In Joshua's questions I could find voice to my own fundamental questions. Questions which, I may not even have let myself be consciously aware of but nevertheless feeling their weight silently nagging my heart for answers. I am grateful to gain answers and feel the paradigm shift in my attitude towards not only meditation but life in general. This is a book to read and validate the wisdom through one's own personal experience.

Read to Meditate! I read this book a couple of times and it really is transformative in nature. Set in an interactive revelatory style between the Master and a Disciple it elucidates how meditation can transform one's life using the Heart as an instrument. Beginners and advanced practitioners will be treated alike. Read and Enjoy!

I have been exposed to the practice of meditation from my childhood. It was a complex topic even though in the eastern philosophy, it has been practiced for many centuries. Now in the current day of stress and fast life, meditation provides scientific benefits and helps one calm themselves. In this book, the co-author Joshua Pollock in a conversational style with the global guide of Heartfulness Kamlesh D. Patel clearly articulates on why to meditate, how to meditate and what meditation provides. With an easy, simple conversational style, this is a breezy yet very deeply insightful read.

After a long time, a book in this genre appealed so much to me! The conversational dialog between the teacher and the disciple makes for a very interesting reading. The concept of meditation has been simplified and demystified in this book. After my first reading, I decided to underline some of the paragraphs that have so much packed into them....It's a good idea to read this at your own pace and ruminate over the dialog...that helped me enjoy this book even more...Cheers!

This book is one of the best additions to my book collection, book is a conversation emanating from the heart of a teacher and guiding the disciple effortlessly . It was hard to keep this book down once I started reading. In today's internet driven, violence ridden society the method prescribed helps humanity connect through the heart and spread love.

A gripping book for anyone looking for answers to the commonplace questions we have in life- our restless minds and how to make it focus better, being our best selves, overcoming obstacles, love, fulfillment, inner growth. As I read the book, answers and insights unfolded before me in an effortless way as the flow of the book which is in the form of a dialogue between a guru and disciple make it easy to comprehend but interesting at the same time. This is a book that I plan to re-read as every sentence provides wisdom that I can apply to my daily life. Kudos to the authors and heartfelt gratitude for sharing these conversations and insights with us! A must read for anyone looking to better themselves and delving into the world of meditation and realization.

Books in this genre are mostly too theoretical and somehow don’t quite resonate with me for that reason. But here the personal experiences of the authors Kamlesh Patel and Joshua Pollock, put a fresh spin on things and make it instantly relatable. I like the way the book builds up as we slowly progress through it. And the use of ample examples clarify concepts like meditation, thoughts, consciousness and many more. For example, here’s a short excerpt talking about thoughts while meditating -- “Thoughts and emotions are like waves on the surface of the ocean. They may disturb the sailor who stays upon the surface, but not the whale, which swims in the depths. In deep meditation, we sink into those depths. Even when a gale blows, it remains above the surface, and we remain unaffected.” The conversation sometimes does not flow seamlessly, with repetition of statements like "I asked" and "Daaji said", but great book overall.

This is the first time, that I ever came across something called 'Cleaning',which not only helps us get rid of unwanted thoughts from their roots in the subconscious mind but also help us prevent them from being created in the first place. I have read many self -help books in the past but none of them had practical exercises that are designed to cleanse our subconscious mind. The author is a brillaint spiritual scientist and his co-author does an excellent job of bringing out his teacher's brilliance by asking him questions that plague all of us in our daily lives. A must read for anyone that is looking to transform from the inside!

I really liked this book for its simplicity in explaining seemingly-complex concepts. It also reveals new paradigm on many aspects of meditation. I have been meditating for a while now, but sometimes stumble when explaining meditation to others. The abstract concepts are to be experienced than understood, however for many, understanding is the first step to exploring and experiencing. So, I was pleasantly surprised to see how the conversations in the book naturally distills all aspects of meditation and other unique elements of Heartfulness practice. I would recommend the book to anyone, whether s/he is interested in meditation or not, practices or not, adept or new. Each one for sure is going to take away a valuable lesson or a life-changing experience.

I recommend this book for all those who want to understand the nuances of meditation before starting the practise. Through this book, Kamlesh Patel & Joshua Pollock have demystified the subject of spirituality. What is commonly perceived to be a very difficult topic is made easy to appreciate, absorb, and assimilate in daily life. The book explains the practise of the inner search in simple terms with a step by step approach to progressively awaken the spirit of inner inquiry in the aspirant . It is written in easy conversational style, deeply in consonance with ancient Indian practises, where knowledge is often passed on by the teacher to the seeker in the form of questions and answers. In this way the seeker is encouraged to think deeply on the topics outlined in the book. A must read book for all sincere aspirants of spirituality.

I have read several books on spirituality, philosophy or mysticism like Autobiography of a Yogi, The Way of the Sufi, In Search of the Miraculous, The Way of Zen, Apprenticed to a Himalayan Master, Tao Te Ching and many more. They have all been amazing accounts of authors' own experiences or their way of thinking. Not only I enjoyed reading them, but I was also able to summon their teaching in my own life at occasions. However, when I went through The Heratfulness Way I realized what I was missing so far was to have a simple and practical way to enable myself to have such experiences that I admired from others. The book is filled with dialogues between Joshua and Kamlesh (Daaji) which are like pearls of wisdom scattered throughout the book. Through this medium of inquiry, I realized we also keep questioning our beliefs and understanding and see them in a better light. It helps in bringing more clarify and getting rid of biases that we may have accumulated consciously or subconsciously. And as they say, reading a book alone cannot transform us. When we put Heartfulness Way into practice, we realize how simple it is, especially with the aid of Yogic Transmission and we start moving forward on the path of our own experiences.

In English: There are so many levels to this book. If you are interested in delving into your inner self and general growth within your inner self- this book is for you. I love the idea mentioned in the beginning that everyone is already knowledgeable and skilled at meditation (when we spend a lot of time obsessing over things - we are meditating!). Yet, in this approach to meditation we learn to ennoble this act by focusing our attention on our hearts and the feeling of “light in our heart.” My 78 year mom, a U.S. immigrant from the Dominican Republic was able to try and actively practice heartfulness meditation and received a lot of benefit from it. There is so much more to learn from this book. Read it slowly, there is a lot to digest.
