When it comes to weight loss or maintaining a healthy weight, the one thing that I know after struggling with my weight for years since the birth of my first child is that one size does not fit all. So I have learned to pull my information from a couple of different places and created a plan that works for me to help me lose weight. My problem is that despite my recent weight loss of over 11 pounds, I still love to eat and love trying new recipes. That is why I have become such an ardent fan of Lisa Lillien and the Hungry Girl. With every new cookbook, Lisa delivers real food for real people. With her new diet cookbook, Lisa delivers again providing not just recipes for people who want to lose weight but for anyone that loves a good meal without all of the calories. You can really choose any three meals and any three snacks from the 200 recipes that you will be dying to try. You should know that I was up early trying her Strawberry Banana Pancakes out of curiosity. I never felt so satisfied with any breakfast. Next on my agenda is to try the Chicken Pesto Bowl and the Mock Vodka Chicken Pasta. For lunch, I might even try Cioppino à la HG. This cookbook is definitely a must have if you are already a fan of Hungry Girl or just love making good food. Speaking of making good food, do you know the difference between baking soda and baking powder? Or how long raw eggs will last in your refrigerator? What is resting time? What is even the proper temperature to cook chicken? Thank you to whoever recommended Conquer Your Kitchen from Chef Jai Scovers. I have been afraid to use to my slow cooker until I read that book. Since then, I haven't stopped. I made some beef short ribs and the meat fell off the bone. It is just what I needed. Not mention the food storage charts. Now I know what all the hype was about! Who knew that you could freeze eggs! I am also amazed by how the trick to get rid off burnt food on pots. Enough of my babbling, thanks again! Buy Conquer Your Kitchen or even borrow this book if you have to, but get it!
