The King of Love and Other Fairy Tales

This is a bilingual volume of twelve fairy tales collected by ethnologist Giuseppe Pitre and edited and translated by Marina Cocuzza and Lorna Watson. The tales, mostly from the western part of the island, are narrated by Sicilians in the ancient oral tradtion of the island. The facing translation and the linguistic and cultural explanations about the background of the tales make this volume especially valuable in the discovery of Sicilian culture.
