About the Author

I love to write and it feels like I've been doing it forever, making up stories in my head. Reading has always been my first love and I realized at an early age that a good story stays with you for a long time. Not so much the words but the sense of time and place. With so many worlds chasing through my head, I write a lot of genres; romance, suspense, young adult and urban fantasy.

I live in Australia with my partner, my children and a house full of animals.

Really enjoyed this book but could use some editing

It was an amusing romance with a strong young woman trying to make life better for her family after several severe losses. Yet strong young women are frowned upon by society, therefore she finds a way around it and works things to her benefit only to have fate step in and take everything out of her hands! Love can be found in the most unexpected poeple!

Wife-hunting meets husband-hunting during the Napoleonic War. Standard Regency parties, etc., but a forthright couple of females are a refreshing change, as was the author's refusal to turn love scenes into TMI about sexual practices. Thank Goodness for that! Only flaws are using "throws" for "throes" and similar mistakes. I mention that example because it seems to be used so frequently in a variety of contexts. KL

Oh what a book!  It totally restored my faith in romance! I had so much fun reading this book and really and truly enjoyed it!  The characters were wonderful - the female lead reminded me of me - outspoken and forthright, and well, forever getting in trouble over it!  This is the second Kate Harper book I've picked up and I'll be getting more, she has a way of drawing me in and welcoming me to be a part of the adventure!
