4 STARS There is plenty of drama, mystery, suspense, action. The plot starts right out in a action, suspense and violent scene. It hardly slows down from the beginning. This is the fourth book of the Appaloosa Pass Ranch series. While I have not read all four books, I was able to pick up the story fine. I would have liked to have read all four books. Marshal Chase Crockett goes to meet a informant who is in trouble and runs into a gunfight and sees another witness who was his former lover. His baby has been kidnapped. April Landis is supposed to be in WITSEC and nine months pregnant. Her cover was blown and their baby taken. They want April's brother Quentin who is also in the program and money. April and Quentin are going to testify against a cop killer Tony Crossman. He is in jail waiting his trial. He is the chief suspect but not the only one. April can;t even trust her brother. As some good suspects that you are not sure who is pulling the strings till the end. I like Delores Fossen's stories and look forward to reading more from her. I was given The Marshal's Justice to read for free from NetGalley and Harlequin. In return I agreed to give a honest review;

Title: The Marshall's Justice - Appaloosa Pass Ranch 4 Author: Delores Fossen Published: 4-19-16 Publisher: Harlequin Intrige Pages:224 Genre: Mystery, Thrillers & Suspense Sub Genre: Western; Series; Kidnapping; Romance ISBN: 9780373699025 ASIN: B015MNNJ1Q Reviewer: DelAnne Reviewed For: NetGalley My Rating: 5 Stars . To say the drama starts from the very opening lines is like saying Shakespeare was a little known author of antiquated plays. From the very beginning of "The Marshall's Justice" you are pulled into the story and it holds you to the very last page. U.S. Marshall Chase Crocket is in the middle of an ambush trying to save himself when suddenly he comes across his former lover, April Landis The mother of his supposed unborn child and part of the witness protection program. When Chase kills the shooter in self-defense April falls apart. April, tells his daughter, Bailey was born early and has been kidnapped by someone looking for her brother, Quintin, a man of questionable ethics and moral who may be responsible for the danger April, their daughter and now Chase find themselves in. Now they are hunting for leads to find Bailey and who is behind the kidnapping before he succeeds in killing them all. If you have never read any of Delores Fossen's novel then you are in for such a treat. She has taken a intricate story of love, distrust, danger and suppressed passions to build a novel that will capture the attention of readers. Her well plotted and executed story will hold them through every twist and turn till the very end. You will dread the end of the story and want to start all over again, but the good news is although this is part of a series it can be read as a stand-alone book. Also there are three previous novels already in the series to enjoy, each are as wonderful as "The Marshall's Justice". My rating is 5 out of 5 stars.

Fossen hits the ground running with this one and doesn’t let up until the very end. Suspense and danger run high as old lovers come together in a most intriguing manner. Every aspect of the setting is intricately crafting, allowing the suspense and action of the tale to happen naturally. I love the way that Fossen develops the lives of the characters as the scenery comes to life in a vivid manner. I enjoyed getting to know the main characters as they came together for a greater good, and faced their combined past. Explosive suspense and breathtaking danger rule the day as Fossen takes readers on a trip in this unique second chance romance. Readers will enjoy every minute as they find themselves embroiled in the mystery being solved. Please note that I received a complimentary copy of this work in exchange for an honest review.

Loved this story, the intensity, danger, constant fear and uncertainty, the threats that kept coming, the tangled web of lies, deceit, and murder. The story is so well written, it has a seamless flow in it, I was over half way through the story, and I took a deep breath, since I felt I had been holding it, since the moment I started the explosive tale. What made it even more intriguing, if possible, was the relationship between April and Chase, because nothing was sure or certain about it, except the attraction they had for each other, and the connection they had through their baby girl, and the love they felt for her. But future together, or what that future would hold, and where it would happen, it all was a puzzle to be solved, and gave the story even more spice. Incredible suspense, that kept me on the edge, literally holding my breath, mixed with family drama, and fragile romance, make this story one of my favorites from Delores Fossen, and that's saying a lot! ~ Five Spoons
