Unfortunately, I couldn't force myself past page 60. Imagine an innocent virgin trying to imagine the most explicit seed acts while referring to his rounded posterior...

Predictable outcome, a good read nonetheless.

Elijah Watson, Marquis of Ridgefield, comes from a notorious family. Because of this, he’s determined to live above the reproach of society. Samantha Pengarden is an illegitimate daughter of an infamous Madame. Where Elijah wants to live a respectable life, Samantha has a bit more of a scandalous mindset. When Elijah first meets Samantha, he thinks he’s found a kindred spirit in his quest to have a normal life. It doesn’t take him long to figure out that he was wrong. This book was about two people who come from dysfunctional families way before it was mainstream. Their meeting is happenstance when they both need someone that will understand, From their first meeting, there’s a mutual attraction. What starts from there, grows into a closeness and eventually love that helps them both heal. This was a great book. I highly recommend. **I voluntarily read and reviewed this book

Absolutely wonderful sweet, clean romance. From the first chapter you get brought into the world of Eli and Sam. The characters come to life and the troubles will definitely pull at your heart strings. There are twists and turns that I didn't see coming and the story line is magnificent. There is a little heat without getting dirty that sets the mood just right for these two. I applaud the author for her fantastic use of this story line and the way she developed these characters. I can't wait to see what comes next from her!!!

A charming love story that stands out from other historical romances. This is an unusual story of a family that is very uncommon for the times they live in and how they live their lives within societies bounds. The main heroine Samantha cracks me up in a good way. This woman is very feisty and certainly does want to do things that push the bounds of society and could cause the downfall of her whole family. But I enjoyed what she did because it opened Eli to another type of life than what he was used to with his grandfather. Eli on the other hand grew the most from his interaction with Samantha. He learned to open himself up and laugh again. The lessons he taught Samantha were lessons all of us could use in our lives at one time or another. Also, his character is stellar without coming across as soft sided. Secondary characters, White's betting book and the men who signed the bet adds the needed spark to this story to keep it more entertaining. I will be interested in reading the next book to the series as Samantha's who family is very entertaining and interesting. I give this book 4 STARS and recommend it for anyone who wants a very enjoyable read. Received an advance reader copy in exchange for a fair review.

The Mistress Enchants Her Marquis by Christina McKnight is an entertaining read. Ms McKnight has given us a well-written book loaded with fantastic, lovable characters. Eli and Samantha's story is loaded with drama, humor and sexy bits. This book captured my attention at the first page and kept me hostage until the end. I enjoyed The Mistress Enchants Her Marquis and look forward to reading more from Christina McKnight soon. The Mistress Enchants Her Marquis is part of the Craven House Series but can easily be read as a standalone. This is a complete book, not a cliff-hanger. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book that I won from the author.

What a delightful book. Sam is attending her twin sister's wedding. She has no interest in all of the activities and heads out for a long walk. During a rainstorm, she meets Elijah, who delivers her back to the host of the wedding. Sam comes from a scandalous family, but is accepted by society. She is strong, quick witted and finds herself attracted to Eli, who is also attending the wedding and attending to business while there. Both Sam and Eli have experienced heartache with parents. They find friendship and comfort, but Eli also makes Sam's heart sing. I love that Ms. McKnight has delivered a book with a strong heroine and a shy and reserved hero. We have met many of the characters in her other books, yet this can easily be read as a stand alone. I do enjoy how they all connect together. Ms. McKnight is one of my favorite authors, This book, like others, is so enjoyable to read. She weaves wonderful tales that leave me wanting more! I received an ARC of this book. The choice to read and review it was all mine.

The Mistress Enchants Her Marquis by Christina McKnight is an enchanting Regency Romance. Book 2 in the "Craven House" series, it can be read as a stand alone. See, The Thief Steals Her Earl". However, I feel to better understand the family issues, you may wish to read Book 1, as well. Well written with well-developed and engaging and likeable characters. The storyline is utterly fascinating, entertaining as well as interesting and easy to read. Elijah Watson, Marquis of Ridgefeld, is the son of a notorious woman. He has spent most of his life outside of London, traveling with his beloved grandfather. He has had an unconventional upbringing, which has left him longing for a traditional family life, and putting down roots. Miss Samantha Pengarden,is the illegitimate daughter of London’s disreputable Craven House Madame, she is rebellious, reckless and filled with inner turmoil. Her shy twin sister is getting married in a few days, which has thrown her into turmoil, feeling adrift and lonely. Then her blackguard of a father, appears at her sister's wedding throwing her further into turmoil. How dare he show up after all these years! Her and Elijah meets and is instantly attracted to each other. In Samantra, Elijah sees the woman he wishes to marry. What follows is heart-wretching as well as heartwarming. They strike up a friendship. When Elijah finds Samantha's name on White’s betting book, as his mistress, he is infuriated. He pulls the page out and is determined to protect her reputation. As these two young friends come to terms with their past, their disappointments, their mothers, they begin to form a bond. Sam heals Elijah's fractured turmoil as does he to Sam. These characters are longing for family, love, roots and a HEA. Ms. McKnight never fails to delight my reading experience with her charm, warmth, her charactizations and her detail for emotionally charged stories. Once again, Ms. McKnight captured my heart and held my attention throughout her fantastic story. What a fantastic reading experience! I enjoyed watching, Sam and Elijah's relationship mature and develop into a growing respectful, cherished and forever love. Powerful and compelling! Easy to read and to love. Ms. McKnight has become a favorite Regency Romance author of mine. A must read for fans of complicated characters and Regency Romance. I can hardly wait to read more from this deliciously wicked "Craven House" series. Well worth reading!! Well done, Christina McKnight!! Born into scandal, Elijah has a lot to live down to. However, this Marquis is determined to live a life beyond repute. His rep is on the upswing but can his heart withstand the turbulence headed his way? Ms. McKnight is known for her unconventional heroines and she stays true to form with Samantha. Samantha is a lost soul looking for a bit of affection and instead lands in the middle of scandal. A pistol through and through, she never backs down from a challenge, despite the heartache she endures along the way. The Mistress Enchants Her Marquis is an explosion of color, scandal, sensuality and emotion that comes alive with every new character and each flip of the page. Falling in love with these exquisite characters isn't a possibility, but a fact.
