Heller has appeared on Dr. Oz, CBS This Morning, the Today Show, and is the go-to expert on health for Prevention, Health.com, and the HuffingtonPost. She has her own show on SiriusXM’s Doctor Radio, “The Samantha Heller Health & Nutrition Show.” As a senior clinical nutritionist at NYU Langone Medical Center’s Center for Musculoskeletal Care and Sports Performance Center, Heller works with patients and athletes to optimize health and performance. This is an excellent, fun, informative book that gives you a step by step guide to a healthier life. Heller's approach is not extreme and offers a lot of flexibility. She integrates mind-body ideas with a mostly vegan diet and includes pretty easy recipes. She covers many issues that we all need to work on, like being negative about ourselves, in the Space Cleanses and Mindful Moments. I feel like she actually cares about people. I am learning a lot of really good ways to have a more balanced mind and body. I highly recommend The Only Cleanse!
I gave this book as a gift to two friends who are athletic and have tried every gimmick out there. It totally worked for both of them and they think I'm brilliant. Actually, it's just really easy to do and it uses your own body chemistry to help you feel healthy and strong. Even if you're a couch potato, maybe especially if you are a couch potato, this detox will help you feel better about yourself and your body. Tomato & watermelon salad and the peanut sesame noodles were my favorites.
