Life was tough for one insecure teen but when a zombie apocalypse changes the world Avery steps up to become the kick-ass leader that was always buried deep inside them.
Labelled as "weird" and "different" by their peers, Avery had struggled to find acceptance in their small town high school. But despite the social isolation, Avery had always found solace in their love for science fiction and horror movies.
So when a parasitic virus sweeps across the world, turning humans into mindless hosts for the infected, Avery is oddly prepared. They had always imagined what it would be like to survive a zombie apocalypse, and now that is actually happening, Avery has found purpose in their life and is determined to make it through.
But surviving in a world overrun by zombies is no easy task. The military has been called in to contain the virus, but their efforts have only resulted in the destruction of entire towns and cities. Avery knows that they must find a way out before it is too late.
Luckily, Avery isn't a lone survivor. They had always looked up to River, a popular student at their school, and when the virus hit, River is one of four other survivors, thanks to Avery. The five teen survivors must join together as they fight for their lives.
The fast bonding team consists of Avery and four other students, all from Avery's school, each with their own unique strengths and weaknesses. There is Charlotte, a computer science whiz with a kind heart, Ryan, former captain of the school football team with a tough exterior, his best friend and sidekick Chad and finally, River, the charismatic and popular friend who inspires the group to keep going even when things seemed hopeless.
Avery takes charge of the group, using courage gained from their own life experience and survival tips from horror movies to guide them through the dangerous landscape of the zombie-infested world. They led the group through abandoned cities and towns, scavenging for supplies and fighting off zombies and gangs of scavengers along the way.
But even with Avery's leadership and River's charisma, the group is constantly on the brink of collapse. The world has become a dark and dangerous place, and sometimes seems like there was no end in sight. But Avery refuses to give up. They believe that there are still good people out there, and they are determined to find them.
And so, the group continue on their journey, facing obstacles and challenges at every turn. But through it all, they remain united, driven by a fierce determination to survive and to find a new world where they can finally be free to live without fear.
