Watching snowflakes settle on the Eiffel Tower, Rachel Smithson’s cosy English village feels very far way – as, thankfully, does her commitment-phobic ex, probably already kissing someone else under the mistletoe. But Rachel hasn’t come to Paris to mope she’s come to bake. Hard.
Because the search for Paris’s next patisserie apprentice is about to begin! And super-chef judge Henri Salernes is an infamously tough cookie. But Rachel isn’t about to let her confidence (or pastry) crumble. She’s got one week, mounds of melt-in-the-mouth macaroons and towers of perfect profiteroles to prove that she really is a star baker.
As well as clouds of flour, and wafts of chocolate and cinnamon, there’s definitely a touch of Christmas magic in the air… Rachel hasn’t come to Paris looking for a fairy-tale romance, but the city of love might gift-wrap her one anyway…
Not even a dusting of icing sugar could make The Parisian Christmas Bake Off a more perfect Christmas treat!

Title: The Parisian Christmas Bake-Off Author: Jenny Oliver Published: 10-22-2013 Publisher: Harlequin UK / Carina Pages: 352 Genre: Romance Women's Fiction; Saga's ISBN: 9781472073761 ASIN: B00G2DLN82 Reviewer: DelAnne Reviewed For: NetGalley My Rating: 4 1/2 . Rachel Smithson will be spending Christmas in Paris, France this year; leaving her ex a small English Village behind to participate in a competition to become Paris' next patisserie apprentice. Henri Salernes is judging the competition and known for being brutal on competitors. With one week to prove herself. Rachel will make towers of Profiterole to rival the snow dusted Eiffel Tower and the lightest most delicious Tarte tropézienne Salernes has ever tasted in his life. And if she has been an especially good girl this year she will find romance wrapped in a red ribbon under her tree. From the opening to the end you are drawn in to the story with Jenny Oliver's descriptive writing. You can smell the cinnamon in the air a feel the crisp, cold air on you skin. Add in the defined, multi dimensional characters and a well thought out plot and you have a wonderful story to warm your heart and lift your spirits. With the contentious romance that slowly develops between Henri and Rachel. It takes them a while to realize that their strong wills and differences are what makes them perfect for one another as much as the respect and attraction. With a touch of humor here and a bit of with there and The Parisian Christmas Bake off Comes to life. My rating is 4 1/2 out of 5 stars.
