Jane Taylor was born in London on September 23rd 1783. She and her sisters were part of a large literary family. She is of course most famous for ‘The Star’, a poem which we now all know by its first line ‘Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star’. However she was rather more accomplished than that poem might state.
