When Shawn Stankavage, son of former NFL quarterback Scott Stankavage, tore his ACL after an undefeated junior season of high school football, his hopes for becoming the big-time college QB he d always dreamed of becoming seemed irrevocably dashed. When Scott grew helpless watching Shawn son struggle with the physical, mental and emotional anguish of his injury, as well as the non-existent interest from college recruiters, Scott decided to call in Steve Wilson, his former Denver Broncos teammate, college head coach and known quarterback guru, for help. And as Wilson mentored Shawn with the same highly technical football knowledge and life lessons that he d used to develop other standout QBs, including Indianapolis Colts offensive coordinator Pep Hamilton, Scott realized that Coach Wilson s teachings were about so much more than Xs and Os. The QB Mentor is about leadership and faith, parenting and perseverance. And it is wisdom applicable to every reader, football players and non-athletes alike from injured quarterbacks trying to make a college roster, to men and women acting as QB of their own lives, families and businesses.

This is a must read for any aspiring football player or any man that has put on shoulder pads. It is a story about players at all levels, mentor, father, son and coach. Shawn has a nose for the game with incredible genes. His mother an Olympic athlete and his father an NFL player. It tells the story of the trials and tribulations of a young athlete that "never quits" to attain his dreams, even after being sidelined with an ACL injury and his father's battle with Leukemia. Inspiring and motivational!
