I liked that I have not read any of the other books in this series and wasn't lost. I also liked that she kept you on the edge of your seat trying to figure out what comes next. They are searching for the fountain of youth. but finding different treasure maps. It was very action packed which I liked. I also thought that it was neat that it was a lady pirate cause for some reason we usually think as man as pirates. I also liked that parrot I thought it was cute how he would chime in and say different things smart bird. I also liked the little boy and how he knew what everyone wanted/needed before they would tell him. I liked how she wrapped the book up with love and faith.

Just keeps getting better! Just when you think you've read the best that MaryLu Tyndall can write, she goes and writes one even better! The Legacy of the King's Pirates series just gets better and better....they really should be turned into movies. The Reckless is, in a word, WOW. This book has so much to offer....romance, adventure, intrigue, pirates, familiar characters, visions of the spiritual realm and tears. Yes, tears. I found it hard to get through the last chapter of this wonderful book, because I couldn't see past the tears welling up in my eyes. Captain Reena Charlisse Hyde and Frederick Carlton will set your heart on such an adventure, you won't want to step back into reality. Mutiny, treasure maps to the Fountain of Youth....and so much more! I won't give away any more info....you must read it for yourself! That being said: If you long for an adventure upon the high seas, to feel the touch of God in a story that will have you touching your hand to your heart, then you MUST read The Reckless, by MaryLu Tyndall. While you're at it, grab the entire series!

Be sure to get your sea legs on, mateys, for yer about to go on another exhilarating high seas adventure straight from the quill of MaryLu Tyndall! 'The Reckless' is indeed a whimsical journey complete with swashbuckling pirates, nefarious villains, and an action-packed treasure hunt set against the backdrop of the gorgeous turquoise waters of the Caribbean. Reena Hyde, although an infamous pirate captain, is not so unlike many young ladies of today. Tough as nails, yet vulnerable, with her sights set on things below...her beauty, wealth, and using her feminine wiles on the man of her choice—not caring a whit about her soul. The charming and hunky, Frederick Kent, is a changed man by God's grace. Having been conceived in violence and an ex-pirate, he often lets his past define him...never feeling quite good enough for God's love. Will he be able to withstand his worst temptation yet, in the form of the beautiful Reena? I love how Tyndall delves deeply into the hearts and minds of her characters, exposing satan's tactics and lies, while weaving an exciting, intricate plot surrounding them. Excitement, romance, and pirates—what could be better? And be sure to hold on to yer tricorns because a tumultuous, seafaring wind will be blowing some surprises your way! Another wonderful pirate book by MaryLu Tyndal. You will fall in love with Abraham and Michael. It is a great story of redemption, spiritual warfare, and the love of God, family, and others. Don’t fret if you are a little confused at first, you will soon be caught up in Reena and Frederick’s struggles (both separately and together). I absolutely loved the conversation between Abraham and Frederick when Frederick is trying to figure out why he is on a pirate ship. It really spoke to me as I have also experienced trying to figure out what God could possibly want with me in a particular place. The phrase, “Dere’s always a deeper purpose wit’ God.” is amazing and blessedly true. If you love God and pirate tales you won't want to miss this book. MaryLu Tyndall’s latest release The Reckless captures the reader from the very first page and carries him/her through to the very end. Chockfull of relatable characters, swashbuckling pirates, and grand adventures, The Reckless tells the story of Captain Reena Hyde and Captain Frederick Carlton. Reena and Frederick used to be the couple, but when Frederick rededicated his life to God, he found it hard to be around Reena. Now, she wants him back by her side to help her find the Fountain of Youth. But will these two be able to reconcile their differences? Will they find all that they seek? I loved this book. Having read the others in this series, it was fun to get to hear about the lives of previous characters. But what I enjoyed most—aside from the pirate adventures, romance, and suspenseful action—was the realness of Ms. Tyndall’s characters. Reena and Frederick embody the struggle of real people—people who doubt, question, and love God. I could not put it down once I got started! If you like pirates, adventure, romance, suspense, and great books, you’ll love The Reckless! If I had to give The Reckless a rating, I would award it 5 out of 5 stars. *Disclaimer: I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author and was under no obligation to post a review. Being the best female pirate isn’t enough for Captain Reena Charlisse. She has two goals she’s determined to achieve—find the Fountain of Youth and find the love of her life. The only problem . . . she might have to sacrifice one for the other. Leaving his pirate life behind, Fredrick Carlton has chosen to follow God and walk away from the only woman he’s ever loved. Knowing he needs to put as much distance between Reena and himself, Fredrick boards a Royal Navy ship where he can preach the Word of God to the men on board. But joining the Royal Navy doesn’t stop Reena’s pursuit. She “liberates” Frederick from his ship, which labels him a deserter. Wanting to set the record straight, Fredrick demands Reena take him to Kingston, Jamaica where he can plead his case. Reena agrees to take him back, but not before she finds the elusive Fountain of Youth. Fredrick battles the feelings he still has for Reena, knowing he cannot serve God and live the life they once shared. But Reena is convinced if Fredrick co-captains her ship long enough, he will once again be lured by the adventures and excitement of sailing the high seas as the pirates they are. And when she finds the Fountain of Youth, they will be able to live their love for eternity. As always, I couldn’t wait for another installment in the Legacy of the King’s Pirates series. With each generation the adventure grows. Though the story was focused on Reena, I enjoyed the character of Fredrick “Freddy” more. In fact, Reena was downright irritating at times with her self-centered behavior. She insisted she loved Freddy, and wanted to recapture what they once shared, but her obsession with the Fountain of Youth and her lust for eternal youth, constantly derailed her promise to return Freddy to Kingston. On the other hand, I sympathized with Freddy. Even though he felt the pull to his former life, and knew pirate blood ran through his veins, his devotion to God helped him set his course to what was good, and right, and pure. Nevertheless, even with my frustration with Reena, I loved the story. I loved the characters. I loved the adventure. Marylu Tyndall paints scenes that are so vivid—you smell the salt air, feel the roll of the ship’s deck beneath your feet, and imagine the juggle foliage that is the perfect setting for Reena and Freddy to reignite the relationship they once shared. Reckless is the perfect blend of romance, adventure, and redemption. The only reason that prevents me from giving RECKLESS 5-stars, is the pacing. The back and forth between Reena and Freddy became a little redundant. But other than that, I thoroughly enjoyed it. MaryLu is a wonderful story teller. This 6th book in the Legacy of the Kings Pirates Series is another great adventure of faith and romance. The characters have such personality you feel as if you know them. MaryLu has a great gift to take historical events and create a story around them. You can hardly put this book down once you start because the excitement never stops. But what I love best is the way MaryLu weaves God’s message of salvation in and around her characters. It always flows beautifully through the story and is never preachy. She incorporates spiritual realities in understandable and believable ways. If you haven’t read the first five books in this series you’re in for some sensational reading. You will not be disappointed. I will be purchasing some books to give to my family and friends. This is a great way to share your Christian faith.

I have loved MaryLu Tyndall’s books since I read the Red Siren a few years back. The Reckless is a part of my favorite series by Tyndall: Legacy of the King’s Pirates. There were so many things I loved about this book. I love the adventure, the romance, and the family support and commitment that is shown throughout the story. The story is appropriately entitled The Reckless as you will soon discover as you start reading this story. You will see distinct differences in the main characters. The story shows you how one changed life can impact so many others. Forgiveness is an overarching theme in this story: forgiveness from self, others, and God. There are deep elements and yet many lighthearted and fun moments, too! As always, I didn’t want to put the book down until I was done! And now I will wait (impatiently) for another book by MaryLu Tyndall! Lastly, if you haven’t read all the other books in the Legacy of the King’s Pirates series, I encourage you to check them all out! The Reckless is the newest installment in MaryLu's Legacy of the King's Pirates. This series has long been a favorite of mine, and the Reckless does not disappoint. While I have always love Merrick and Charlisse, Kent and Isobel's story has always been my favorite. I have long waited to see the next chapter in their life. What a pleasure to see their son, Freddy, now grown and making his own mistakes. The dynamic between Freddy and Reena is fantastic. MaryLu skillfully writes their story in a way that keeps you on the edge of your seat. Just when you think the danger is passed the next chapter begins. This book has it all...sword fights, rescues, mutiny, treasure, etc. Everything you would expect from a pirate novel. I highly recommend picking up the whole series! You will be transported immediately to the clear turquiose water of the Carribean, and who could ask for more?

In this 6th book in MaryLu Tyndall's 'Legacy of the King's Pirates' series, we see the daughter and son of folks we met in previous books. Reena wants to find the Fountain of Youth and is willing to forge ahead no matter the danger. Frederick has found Christ and wants no more of pirating. But he is still drawn to her. She wants nothing to do with Christ, only can think of drinking of waters that will keep her perpetually young. He knows the Living Water. MaryLu Tyndall does a pirate tale well indeed. She makes you feel as if you are on the high seas, riding the waves as the captain shouts orders to his crew. And the spiritual message is strong, which is what I love. Recommended. *I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author and was under no obligation to post a review. Adventure on the high-seas is calling! Ms. Tyndall has penned a wonderful story of pirates, danger, mutiny, treasure maps and the search for the Fountain of Youth. She has filled the story with an eclectic cast of characters that will entertain her readers on this adventurous tale on the high-seas. It is the spiritual warfare that surrounds her characters that takes center stage in this story, presenting her readers with a thought-provoking theme. In whom/what do we place our trust? What is it we seek the most? On what do we place the most value? I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book from the author/publisher. I was not required to write a review. All opinions expressed are my own. What an adventure! From the first page, the characters hooked me in and wouldn’t let me go. I love MaryLu Tundall's pirate adventures, and this one did not disappoint. Though j will admit, I got very annoyed with the characters at first, but they definitely grew on me, and I really loved their character development throughout the entire series. First there’s Reena, bold, fierce, a strong pirate captain with a kind heart who's more than happy to rescue someone at the same time as stealing a fortune in treasure. She’s got an adventurous spirit and yearns for complete freedom that she believes the sea will provide. Then there’s Freddy, a man who's trying to be good, but finds it really difficult when the one woman he loved won't just let him be. The sparks fly the minute they say ‘hello' and don’t let up until the very end, and it was so fun to watch these two reconnect. Throw in an invaluable treasure, evil pirates, and a bit of spiritual warfare along with deep messages of faith, acceptance, and forgiveness and you’ve got the recipe for an awesome tale that I highly recommend.
