It was an accident, looking at my husband’s phone when he had a text. Just a split second of time, and all my worst fears were confirmed. My life, my marriage, my husband—is it all a lie?
When I stumble into a circus-act of people—all juggling their own broken hearts, tightrope walking their own bitter ironies—I face the hardest question of all: Who am I? Everyone sacrifices for their loved ones. Everyone gives up their dreams…right?
As my husband rescues me from an act gone bad, I can’t help but wonder what he’s given up and if our sacrifices made our love or broke it.

Most Helpful Customer Reviews
"The Sacrifice" is a compelling story that echoes two themes. One, how situations in life aren't always what they seem; the other, putting those we love before ourselves. Red L. Jameson grabs a reader's attention with the novella's first line, "I didn't mean to look." This is a tale of how two people got from here to there, and contemplate the aspect of if they had gotten to where they wanted to go. Over the years, I've read several of Ms. Jameson's works, and have always found her characters well-developed and intriguing. "The Sacrifice" Mabel and Harrison are no different. Since the story is from Mabel's point-of-view, she comes off as the dominant character. Yet, Harrison is equally interesting, and the prospect of digging deeper into what made him tick fascinated this reader. Keep in mind that while the theme and the characters are captivating, this is an erotic novel. Mabel and Harrison are very “adventurous.” But, along with the sex goes a mesmerizing love story worth reading for those who enjoy lovers who belong together. ***I received a copy of this book in exchange for an unbiased and honest review.***
