The Secret's Out by Lila Rose

Moving to Melbourne for university, Josie Alexander knew the transition would be hard. She didn't realise just how difficult it'd be until things turn ugly. Damaged by a past that leaves her struggling with physical contact, her brave move to start afresh, soon turns into a nightmare.

Afraid and vulnerable, Josie's fragile independence threatens to unravel around her. That is until the two men who refuse to leave her thoughts show up in Melbourne.

Caden Adams, "Pick" to his biker brethren, has had a hard life. His only light is Josie, who he loses when she leaves Ballarat for Melbourne. Dealing with day to day life without his heart is hard, especially with the darkness threatening to consume him. When MC President, Talon, informs him that Josie's in trouble, he's determined to make sure he's there to protect her. Only, he won't be doing it alone.

Eli "Billy the Kid" Walker has never experienced love, not even from those who should have cared the most. Only Josie and Caden have ever come close to infiltrating his hardened heart. With Josie gone, he pushes Caden away, unwilling to take a risk, even if it's something he wants.

When given with the opportunity to prove to each other how they really feel, will they all be able to have the courage to fight for what their hearts desire? Above all else, will they survive the fallout when their secret's out?

My original opinion of Pick was that he belonged in the ground after betraying his brothers and club, after all that's what any normal club would have done, but I've come to realize that Talon's club doesn't really stick to normal club rules, so if he feels that Pick redeemed himself, then so be it. We'll move on.... I found it rather intriguing that the most damaged character, Josie, ended up in the most unconventional relationship ever, a It seemed to work for all three parties so more power to them, it was hot, it was sexy, it was oh so very exciting to read those scenes and Josie really did come into her own. The best part of this book was the fact that Julian and Deanna are absent and when tragedy strikes a beloved character, those two annoying characters are totally subdued and the cheesy name calling they are known for is absent as yay! Overall, this was a very good and interesting read with an enjoyable storyline. This new chapter of the Hawks looks to be a real page turner. SR

Another good read. I am just happy I read it at home all by myself. Chapter 19 & 20 had me sobbing my heart out, so not something you want to do in a restaurant or at work, etc. Looking forward to the next book in this series!

4 star I was pulled right into this story. The story has laughs, pain, abuse, shame, grief, and heartbreak. This is Josie, Caden (Pick), and Eli (Billy the kid)’s story. They all have a horrible past. Josie is attending school in a different town. Caden and Eli both want her but she could not choose between them. They are both send to her school when they find out that a few guys are bothering her. They know she wants them but can she choose? Can Josie chose between the two men or does she hope to have them both? Can she even try having a relationship with her past? What happens if she is just too damaged to even try? Can they all come together and heal each other. Or will she be left without either of them? Or will the man both want to share her also? I loved these characters and also the side characters. I felt I was able to connect with the characters and the story was a great read. I recommend this book.
