Overview

Love heals even the deepest wounds...

The wounded werewolf...
After being held in captivity by scientists for months, Colin Fraser needs rest and recuperation. The Scottish Highlands offer him the perfect place to get much-needed distance from the world and repair the bond with his inner beast.

The selkie's search...
Unna Mikkelsen is being urged to mate with a selkie man she doesn't care for. But she'll never forget how, as a young girl, she saw her mother taken by a fisherman. Knowing she must make her peace with the world above the waves, she leaves the deep for dry land--even though this means she's putting herself into danger.

The power of immortal love...
When Colin notices Unna in the pub, he realizes there's more to her than meets the eye. But he fights his feelings for her--how can a wolf as broken as he is have a relationship? Little does he know Unna will need him when her pelt is stolen by a fisherman, causing her to relive her childhood trauma. Or how much he'll need her too, because only her love can heal his wounds...

Book 5 in this series. This book deals with Colin and Unna, none of these stories end, they mostly finish with a bit of a cliff hanger. The reads are good leave you with the question "what is next", so waiting for the next.

Stay calm, be human, and keep it together. 5 GOLF SEALS Wolf and Selkie and idiots galore! What a HOWL of a story! This is the second Selkie book I have read in the last while and I LOVE it!! Such a BARKING good TAIL! While this one is a little more solemn almost, it still has some humor, definitely some heat, as well as healing, friendships, trust issues, Mates, enemies, family... well, you get the idea! But the one part I truly loved is the very sweet romance that cautiously develops between the Selkie & the Wolf!! I love the fact that .... AAARRGH! I can't tell you without giving too much away!! I can say that I love the fact that Sarah has brought a Selkie into the fold, so to speak! And everything that Colin & Unna go through?!? And what happens to Unna not once, not twice, but a few times?!? Let's just say that she escaped by the skin of her well.. skin! :-) With each story that Sarah writes in this series, with each new character created or given their story, with each new/different species, each book is entertaining and a book I eagerly devour! But when you step back and look at the books from a series perspective, as a whole, WOW!! You really see just how each story brings its own dynamic, enrichment and depth to the series, how the series keeps moving forward and how each book breathes fresh, exciting & new "life" by way of the storylines, friends, Mates all while still following the overall series storyline! LOVE IT!!! This all howls "READ ME NOW" and is only made PAWSSIBLE, only works together because of one reason - Sarah Makela is one FURRIFICALLY talented author!! I cannot wait for the next book, and the next one and so, and so on... I wholeheartedly give my Seal of approval to The Selkie Who Loved A Wolf! :-)

Great story Colin fraser had a hard life but when he was kidnapped and tossed into a cage thing got really bad. He didn't think he was going to live. After being freed he and hid wolf are trying to recover and reconnect. So he came to Scottish Highlands. Unna Mikkelsen is being forced to take a mate she doesn't want so her father can have his way since he is king. But she dreams of a true love mate, the her dad had with her mom his first wife. On land both meet ! And wow I love the characters, the action and the author puts a little extra in each story to build off on for the next book. I love it, Book given for an honest review and I honestly loved it.

2 people who are hurting from their past come together to try and heal. Another excellent story from the author and 1 that will tug at your heart strings. I received an advanced copy of this book for an honest review. This is book 5 from the Cry Wolf series by the author.

Helping each other to heal Colin Fraser takes off to the Scottish Highland to try and reconnect with his wolf after being caged like a lab rate for months. Leaving his sister behind in the care of his pack Alpha. His whole world had turned upside down and he doesn’t want to turn into a rouge. Unna Mikkelsen is a Selkie shifter being urged to mate with a man she doesn’t love or want. But before she does she want to go to the mainland to prove to herself she’s not a victim like her mother who was taken by someone who stole her pelt. Never to be seen again. But her greatest fear happens when her pelt gets stolen and she turns to Colin for help. This story has lots of action and adventure that keeps you guessing what will happen next. Well written and very entertaining self-contained story.

HEARTWARMING, CAPTIVATING AND DELIGHTFULLY ENTERTAINING !!! Title: The Selkie Who Loved A Wolf Series: Cry Wolf Designation: Book Five os Series, Standalone Novella with HFN Author: Sarah Makela Genre: Paranormal/Fantasy Shapeshifter/Witch Romance My Rating: FIVE CAPTIVATING STARS***** I've been a huge Sarah Makela fan for several years and fell head over heels in love with the Cry Wolf Series after reading Makela's first offering of this collection, The Witch Who Cried Wolf. I've found Makela's stories to always be imaginative, original, well crafted and well edited with exciting, unique storylines, heartwarming romance and beautiful covers. And this book is no exception. Sarah Makela has continued the thrilling adventure with The Selkie Who Loved A Wolf, the fifth release of the Cry Wolf Series. The narrative is beautifully written in the first person with alternating his and her points of view. The dialogue is engaging and flows effortlessly. But my favorite element of all Makela's stories has to be her wonderful cast of unusual and captivating characters and in this story we have as the two protagonists, Connor Fraser, a handsome Scottish wolf shifter we met in an earlier book of the series and lovely Unna Mikkelsen, a Selkie hailing from the seas off the coast of Scottish Highlands. A Selkie? Oh yes! As I said, always unusual and distinctive, and we all love to hear about the folklore and legends of old surrounding selkies. Makela has done her research and does a remarkable job of bringing the legends to life in the pages of this book and I loved it! Makela has woven in sufficient amounts of the backstory for the reader so that this release can be read as a standalone but I highly recommend reading the previously released four books in the Cry Wolf Series. Each book brings a new couple and a new romance but quite often, several of our favorite characters from the earlier books of the series reappear in each subsequent release. I've read them all and enjoyed every single one! So, what did I love about this book? Everything! What didn't I like? Not a darn thing! Would I recommend this book? You bet and I am but only for adult readers since it does contain some dreamy love scenes. Will I read this author again? Absolutely! Just as soon as she releases her next book. And just for the record, I did receive a complimentary copy of this book in exchange for an honest review but I've been a diehard Sarah Makela fan long before I became a member of her review team. In fact, I loved her work so much, I actually contacted her and asked (more like begged and pleaded) if I could review for her. If you haven't tried her work yet, I highly recommend her Hacked Investigations Series, a science fiction/cyberpunk/fantasy collection, and Beneath the Broken Moon, a dystopian supernatural shapeshifter/vampire romantic thriller serial. Again, as I said earlier, unique, original and always imaginative!
