I loved this book, Cathy does an incredible job telling her story growing up and the sexual abuse she experienced with her stepfather and the verbal abuse with her stepmother. She is an advocate to eliminate sexual abuse tragedies. She discusses the six attributes used to initiate healing while reducing the occurrence of depression, anxiety and PTSD. The book is very informative, inspiring and empowering! Break the silence, move through trauma and heal the pain.
I came across this book years ago when I was in the middle of healing from sexual abuse. It's well written, easy to understand, and I found it very helpful. It helped me to understand my reactions, retrain my automatic thoughts and enjoy intimacy again. Out of all of the books I read during my healing (and I read many) this was one of the best. Thank you Wendy Maltz!
