Ridgwell Cullum (1867-1943) was the pen name of British adventure writer Sidney Groves Burghard. He joined a gold rush in South Africa at age 17 and was involved in the Boer War. He eventually moved to another Gold Rush in the Yukon, north-west Canada, and spent time in America cattle-ranching in Montana. Most of his stories are set in the wild west of the USA or Canada.
