The Taming of the Bachelor by Jane Porter

Dillon Sheenan refuses to be tamed...

After three years running the family ranch, sexy thirty-year-old Dillon Sheenan has a one way plane ticket out of Montana. He's eager to put small town life, with its emphasis on brides, babies, and families, behind him as he's certainly not interested in being a dad, or even ready to settle down.

Beautiful single mom, Paige Joffe, juggles a lot, between running Main Street Diner and coping with her money-pit of a Victorian on Bramble Lane. She doesn't have time for anything but taking care of the loves of her life, Addison and Tyler, and working to pay down bills. But one date–and an incredibly hot kiss–with Dillon Sheenan wakes her up and makes her dream again.

Until she finds out Dillon's already bought his ticket out of town...

Is Dillon about to break the heart of the only woman he's ever loved?

Good sweet story except didn' t like the ending. Epilogue too rushed. Also, needed better editing!!

This is a good book, like the others. But, the spelling and grammar are atrocious, like the others. Evidently no one proof read or spell checked any of the books. This really detracts from the continuity, not good. Stories have been cute, but short

Another hit for the Sheenan's! Dillon is the baby of the family and we have been waiting for his was certainly worth the wait! We know he is hot and sexy, but we really get to know him in this book and find out why he is as he is, why he is so very set in his ways. He knows exactly what he wants.....maybe! well he certainly knows exactly what he doesn't want, what he can never have......well he thought he didn't and couldn't.....but can he?! Does he? Paige as awesome, she is feisty and smart, but not in your face and bitchy, she loves her kids, loves her diner and is completely unaware of what she is missing and what she really needs until one 5 minute flirty chat with Dillon. From that moment forward the flood gates are opened and her imagination and libido are working overtime, can she bring them under control for more than 5 minutes at a time so she can make the best decisions for herself and her kids.

Dillion has liked Paige Joffe for years; however, he feels he’s out of her league. Paige thinks Dillion is gorgeous but what would a man like him want with a woman with two kids? The night of the bachelor auction, they end up at her diner. After talk and sharing a very hungry kiss, Paige and Dillon end up at her place. As quickly as Dillon heats up, he turns cold and leaves. With Dillon leaving in a few days it doesn’t pay to start a relationship and he doesn’t want to do that to Paige. It doesn’t take long for Paige to realize she is in love with Dillon. He has moved his life to Texas. Can they work things out or is their relationship over before it has begun? I can’t get enough of the Sheenan stories! Once again, Jane has pulled me into Marrietta and made me feel like I am part of the town. These books will be on my “read often” list!!

Dillon Sheenan did what was right a few years ago and left his emerging company in order to go home to Montana and run his family's ranch while his father was ill. One of his brothers has stepped up to take over the ranch now, so Dillon is excited to be able to go back to Texas, where he intends to salvage what is left of his company. Paige Joffe is a woman he's greatly admired, and he is determined not to get attached to her right before he leaves. Aside from his move, he doesn't want to be a family man. As Dillon and Paige realize the other is just as strongly attracted, and as their feelings grow, they have to re-evaluate the direction of their lives. This was a very sweet story. I thought both Dillon and Paige were great, and her children added a great deal to the story. The storyline was interesting, and I enjoyed the way everything was resolved. I thought it was a great contemporary romance! Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for providing a copy of this book in return for an honest review.

Wow! What an emotional story. Dillon has had a rocky few years since leaving Texas and his company to return home to Marietta. Things are finally on track for him, he is leaving for Texas in two days- when sexy, Paige sat down next to him. I really enjoyed this latest story of the Taming of the Sheenan's series, from the previous characters- even busybody Carol to the newest additions! I received a free copy in exchange for an honest review.

(This review is based on ARC e-book provided via NetGalley in exchange for an honest, unbiased opinion.) An enjoyable but mostly predictable Montana small town romance featuring an “on and off again” love connection between Dillon Sheenan, who has no interest in marriage or raising a family, and Paige Joffe, local diner owner and widow with two young children. Dillon, the youngest Sheenan brother, is just days away from cutting ties to the family ranch/hometown and returning to the corporate world in Texas. His only regret is the attraction/pull he has always felt towards Paige. She, in turn, begins to realize how much she would like him to be a part of her family’s life. If you read the author’s book synopsis, you pretty much get the whole storyline. What is missing is the witty banter, chemistry, and emotional drama of this couple as they try to determine if they could have a future together. Though Dillion was upfront he was not marriage material and wanted to leave, his actions often spoke differently. The “yo-yo” effect was frustrating at times, with Paige, in my opinion, taking the brunt of this angst-filled relationship. By the end, I definitely started to feel sorry for her. In fact, I would have liked to have seen more groveling by Dillon to make up for it. Found myself wanting her to be seen on dates by Dillon or at least told she may have moved on. As I did enjoy the author’s writing story and am intrigued by the secondary characters, I am interested in reading the complete series. Jane Porter has caught my attention, and I hope to read more of her books. Taming the Sheenans: Book #4, Pages: 185, standalone, HEA, no cheating, only a couple steamy scenes

Dillon Sheenan came back to work the family ranch and care for his ailing father. Now that everything is resolved. He wants to leave Marietta and reclaim his life and business in Austin. Only one thing keeps bothering him. He's attracted to Paige Joffe who runs the Main Street Diner. He desires her, but he won't get involved with this single mother. He knows that he can't be a good father to her children. Why can't he keep away from her? Dillon is trouble. He's smart and stubborn. He had a difficult childhood growing up without a mother and a father never had time for his boys. He won't repeat that mistake. Paige is widowed. She has two young children and her own business to keep her busy. There is no time to indulge her fantasy about Dillon. The problem is these two are strongly attracted to each other. Does any romance stand a chance? This is an entertaining and emotional story filled with strong and compelling characters. I loved the intense fiery attraction between Dillon and Paige. Their connection is amazing. It was easy to be pulled into their story. I wanted them to be able to put the past behind them and take a chance on a future together. Jane Porter did a wonderful job bring these characters to life. Their romance was filled with passion and tenderness. I do love Marietta Montana and the people who live there. The Taming of the Bachelor was a stand out story that I read in one sitting.

The Taming of The Bachelor is an easy read, well paced book.  The romance is not easy, there are many bumps in the road for Paige and Dillon.   Paige has found her place in Marietta, but Dillon has no plans to stay.  Widowed with two children, Paige doesn't want a fly by night relationship.  Dillon doesn't do permanent and has no desire for a committed relationship, but he can't keep Paige out of his mind.  Their mutual attraction is palpable and they feel a connection, but anything more than a fling is out of the question. As Paige and Dillon came together, then apart, the struggle was heart felt and I could feel it and the hurt that was bound to happen despite having no expectations.  I liked both of these characters, and liked watching Dillon's character grow in the short span of The Taming of The Bachelor.  He has a big heart, bigger than he'll admit to, and his actions speak louder than his words.  I could feel the conflict both of them experienced as this relationship took unexpected turns, and I felt a lot of hope for both of these characters who are struggling with past hurts. It was a lot of fun being back in Marietta and seeing some characters I feel like I've got to know through other books.  The Taming of The Bachelor can definitely be read as a stand alone though. Jane does a great job of writing realistic characters with real feelings that I can care about. I'd recommend The Taming of The Bachelor to any romance reader looking for a quick, smooth read with a lot of feeling.

If you ever lost faith in love, this story will bring it back. When Dillon Sheenan moved back to Marietta to take care of his sick father and help on the ranch, he gave up everything. He gave up his life in Austin along with the company that he worked so hard to build. After weeks of negotiations, his company has finally convinced him to come back. Paige Joffe moved to Marietta after losing her husband during a mountain climbing accident. She works hard as the owner of Main Street Diner and raising two kids on her own. When she lost her husband, it tested her faith. She wasn’t sure what she believed in anymore. What started out as simple flirting between Paige and Dillon, while talking at Grey’s Saloon, brings them closer together. But Dillon insists he doesn’t want a relationship. He really doesn’t want one with a woman with kids. Kids are not in his plans. Women in Marietta tended to want to settle down. That was not in Dillon’s plans either. Plus, he’s leaving town in a few days. Maybe once he was back in Austin he could finally let the silly crush on Paige go. The night of the bachelor auction, Dillon drove Paige home. He really wanted to stay. But he fought the urge. He didn’t want to hurt her. When Dillon left for Austin, Paige couldn’t get him out of her mind. How will she be able to change his mind and make him see they can have a future? This is another one of those wonderfully written stories that you can’t get out of your head after you finish reading it.

I loved this story. It resonated with me so deeply, cause sometimes life is about broken plumbing, furnace that isn't working, people might have disappointed us, work is not going the way we want, and we take on a responsibility that we are not so excited about. Life is hard work, battle, and struggles. And we lose our faith, and it is hard to see God and hope in the midst of all the effort everyday life takes. That's what Paige and Dillon are struggling with, that and the attraction towards each other. And the way Dillon pined after Paige for three years, is rather adorable. And the guts Paige has, to go after what she wanted, is so admirable. Their journey is real, raw, and heartbreaking at times. But there is also humor, joy, laughter, and moments of pure pleasure and passion. And even though life is a hard road, as long as you show up, are present and show love, it is enough. You don't have to be perfect, just forgiving and loving. As you can see, I am so inspired by this story. There are deep feelings, fear of failure, rejection, but also admiration, adoration, love, success, and harmony. Sometimes we are so afraid to fail, not be perfect, like Dillon as a father, that we don't see the great job we are already doing in that role. The connection Dillon had with Paige's kids is heart melting. This love story is beautiful, life like, real, and honest. The characters are strong, genuine, and true. At the end of my notes I had written 'love, joy, hope, faith', because this story is filled with all that ~ Five Spoons!

This book will leave you smiling well after the book has ended. What's not to love the Sheenans and Marietta Montana. Dillon had returned to Marietta when his father's health was deteriorating three years ago, but now it is time to return to Austin Texas for his job. Paige, is a single mom and owner of the local diner. Dillon is not looking to get involved with a single mom, that is one thing he does not want is children. Things don't always turn out the way you have your life planned. Let you heart lead the way! I so loved these two characters. Paige was so strong, and did not like asking for help or depending on other people. Dillon has a bigger heart for family that he even knew. I highly recommend this story of Dillon and Paige. I received this book from netgalley for an honest review.

Sometimes, love is all about timing. Sometimes, timing gets in the way. In this story, Paige and Dillon must figure out if they can go the distance for love, ignore all the obstacles and excuses, and let love, and their hearts fulfill their destiny. It's a long road, and each must concede a little, but in the end, it's worth it. Love wins! A family is formed. And, that makes a fabulous romance!  This is a fabulous and well-written story of a slow burning love, kindled with grit and determination, flaring into the love of a lifetime! I was provided a copy by the publisher in exchange for my honest opinion!
