The Unyielding by Shelly Laurenston

“As usual, Laurenston’s story is outrageously bawdy, her characters are unabashedly foul-mouthed and unrestrained, and her comedic timing is on point. The blend of screwball romance, mythological mayhem, and all-out action is as enjoyable as ever.”
Publishers Weekly
Stieg Engstrom, Angriest Viking Ever, has got big problems. The human Viking Clans of earth are in danger of being obliterated—along with the rest of the world—and the only one who may be able to save them is a super pain-in-the-ass Crow. Most people annoy Stieg, but this is the one woman he really can’t stand . . .
Erin Amsel loves being a Crow! Why wouldn’t she when the other Viking Clans are so hilariously arrogant and humorless? She’s not about to let all that come to an end! She just didn’t expect to be shoulder to shoulder in battle with Stieg. Then again, he’s so easy to torment—and also kind of cute.
With the future of the world riding on them, Stieg knows he’ll have to put aside his desperate need to kiss the smirk right off Erin’s face. Wait. What? He didn’t mean that—did he? No! They have one goal: To conquer the idiots. Because nothing bugs Stieg more than when idiots win. If only he can keep himself from suddenly acting like one . . .
“No one does the weird and wacky better than Laurenston!”
RT Book Reviews, 4.5 Stars Top Pick

Excellent read! Laurenston's signature laugh-out-loud humor is in every page. Good plot, building on previous series entries and setting the stage for the next. (Oh PLEASE hurry up and release the next one!) I have to admit that Laurenston is one of my favorite authors. And I really can't get enough. In fact, I'm going back to reread the other two Crows books, the original Crows book featuring the Tri-state Crows, The Pride stories, the Pack ones, and all the rest of her shifter stories. I can certainly use the laughter!

Girl crushing on S.Laurenston . I spit out soda, choked on chips, and grossed out at the graphic stench. It was the best. I loved it. It was 330 pages of wow. I need friends like the Crows, they dish it out and take it. In a word.....Superawesometastic!!

From the first book she has you in thralled. They are funny, quick witted and just enough romance. This was by far the best one; I laughed so hard I cried! Erin has always been my favorite but this book was everything I hoped for her story. Thank you Shelly for this series. Keep it up.

Shelley Laurenston always gets it right. This book kept me on the edge of my seat, it was and excellent addition to the series. The odd pairing of Erin Amsel and Steig was brilliant and made for great laughs to lighten up the action. I would recommend this book, I already have multiple times. Worth every star.

Call of the Crows is something special. This whole series while having the great writing style of Shelly Laurenston, it has at the same time its own uniqe flavor. Actually all the series from her have this exciting combination. Please keep writting.

I loved it, she's such an instigator. Like the characters you live her or hate her and yet she's loyal, etc and can't help respecting her for it

Review: THE UNYIELDING (Call Of Crows) by Shelly Laurenston Publication Date: March 28, 2017 Genre: Paranormal Romance Reviewed by: Reading in Pajamas/ Donna Rated: 4.5 Stars I truly enjoyed this installment in the Call of Crows! The rapid-fire dialogue and action was so much fun. I wasn’t sure I would warm up to Erin at first, but she is a hoot! She vocalized all those little responses that most of us keep in our heads. Thankfully she had Stieg to keep her in line….right…poor guy had his hands full. There wasn’t a lot of romance going on, but it didn’t matter. It was a fun fast ride that I hated to see end. Laurenston sure has a way with the pithy comments and entertaining action. *Review copy provided by Kensington in exchange for an honest review.

Unyielding by Shelly Laurenston Call of Crows #3 I believe that this is a book better read after having read the previous books in the series. This was my first book by this author so my review reflects that fact. There were many entities and ideas to remember and juggle while reading this action-packed and sometimes steamy book. The fantasy world is well created, populated with intriguing characters, has an explicit mythology, has a well-defined evil to thwart and a whole lot more going on. I had trouble getting into the story and then following it (perhaps since I have not read previous books). That said, I am sure that those who love paranormal-fantasy-romance-Viking mythology starring a quirky strong immortal female character that falls for a nice hunky immortal male will truly love this book. I am rating this in two ways: For me: 3 Stars For someone really into this genre: 4-5 Stars
