About the Author

Hillsdale College was founded in 1844 by men and women who proclaimed themselves "grateful to God for the inestimable blessings resulting from the prevalence of civil and religious liberty and intelligent piety in the land," and who believed that "the diffusion of sound learning is essential to the perpetuity of these blessings."

With that same mission guiding it today, Hillsdale College has built a national reputation through its maintenance of a classical core curriculum and its principled refusal to accept any federal or state taxpayer subsidies. It also conducts a large outreach effort that promotes civil and religious liberty, including a monthly speech digest, Imprimis, with a current circulation of over two million.

Unless people understand the principles upon which our country was founded, they will believe the politicians and end up with unsustainable and unsconstituntional programs such as Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, Welfare, Food Stamps, and unconstitutional and unelected agencies and departments that spend billions of money that would otherwise be in our pockets such as the Dept of Energy, EPA, Dept of Education, Dept of Health and Human Services, etc

This book has the most important documents you will ever read. At a time when the Democratic Party was to fundementally change our country and move it in a direction that the Founder's warned against it is a must read.

I have not read the book because frankly I am a little confused about this NOOK setup. I thought I was purchasing the book to use at home but found out it was in my NOOK. I will purchase the book from a local store and use it for my studies.
