6 out of 5 I-HOPE-IT-NEVER-ENDS stars!!! “Real life is messy. People hurt each other, even when they love each other. All you can do is deal with it.” *cue standing ovation* WOW! Just wow!!! Cassia, I’m in awe! The Way We Rise (Book #3 of The Story of Us series) is the perfect conclusion to such a phenomenal trilogy! What a beautiful ending with an epic, mother of all epilogues! You never cease to amaze me time after time! Secrets will be revealed and then some! Can Rory and Houston’s relationship handle the truth and its repercussions? This heartfelt and emotional read is about impermanence, acceptance, friendship, hope, love and happy beginnings. I cried, laughed, swooned, cried even more and my heart skipped a beat at a particular scene which nearly killed me! (Side note: Cassia, how could you?! Some of us have weak hearts! LOL!) “You see, in real life, there are no happy endings, because real life, real love, has no ending.” Fret not! We will find out what happens to all of our favorite characters (and Tessa…) that we have grown so attached to over the last two books. That’s the magic of Cassia’s masterful storytelling — she keeps it real by creating well-developed characters, realistic plots, and most importantly, the life lessons imparted will resonate with every reader. She is truly an amazing author and I love this book and series tremendously! The Story of Us series will stay with me for a very long time to come and I’ll always hold these quotes close to my heart. “You can’t erase love.” “No friendship, no love.” Thank you, Cassia, for yet another unforgettable love story! ♥

"you can't erase love" That there sums up the entire series. Love is not always easy but it is always there. Nothing proved that more than this series. Cassia can paint a picture like no other with her books. You feel the emotions and take the journey with the characters. Houston and Rory's journey may have had some bumps and forks in the road but they managed to make it through. My favorite part of this book was the epic epilogue. It was probably her best one yet. Thank goodness "you can't erase love."

Cassia Leo’s The Story of Us is one of those series that takes you on a journey. It is not one which you just read and then move on to the next. You will fall in love with her characters from the first book and will want them even more as you go from book to book. In The Way We Rise, Rory and Houston’s journey comes to an end. We have followed their tumultuous relationship and have suffered their mistakes and enjoyed their good moments. We have been cheering for them even when their actions make us want to whack them in the head. Their struggles have made us cry and their triumphs had us screaming and laughing with happiness. Their journey has not been an easy one and at this point, we are more than ready to see if they finally reach their HEA. Houston and Rory have a love that has transcended. They have been through so much and nothing short of them walking hand in hand into the sunset would be acceptable, but are they ready? Are they willing to fight for that happiness that has eluded them for so long? At the end of book 2, we were left with our hearts in our throats, wondering what would happen with Rory and Houston. In The Way We Rise, Houston has determined that it will be best for him and Rory to start from the beginning, leaving all their struggles in the past, and starting off as friends. Getting to know each other without the heavy load of mistakes will allow them to realize what they want from their relationship… at least that’s what he thinks. Will Rory agree? This book was a perfect ending to such a wonderful series. The elements of love and friendship that were interwoven in every action solidified the significance each person has on each other. Houston is not perfect. He has many flaws, but one of them is not the love he has for Rory. He is willing to do anything to make sure their story has a happy ending this time around. Rory is confused, but she knows her feelings for Houston are true and nothing can stop her from trying to reach that happiness. This is a story of second chances, with characters so real you will fall in love with them. They are funny, broken, passionate, and determined to set right the world around them. Every character in the story serves a purpose and the story wouldn’t be complete without them. Rory and Houston wouldn’t be complete without them. We have been on this rollercoaster that has been Rory and Houston’s love from the beginning and the ride has been an emotional one. Twists and turns along the way have made it exciting and the anticipation for a happy ending has kept us on our toes. Secrets are revealed and truths are discovered. Once again, Cassia has given us a story to withstand time. What a fantastic job and what an emotionally rewarding story. And if ever an epilogue left you with a very sweet and satisfying taste, then this is the one. What a perfectly executed job, Cassia!

Cassia Leo could not have written a more perfect conclusion to The Story of Us Series. The Way We Rise was everything I’d come to love about Rory and Houston’s story and then some. This book embodies devastating heartbreak and unimaginable pain, ferocious love and unwavering hope. Cassia Leo has captured the delicate beauty that is falling in love and the even more fragile triumph that is nurturing it. The final book in Houston and Rory’s journey was raw, honest, and emotionally gripping. This book explored the challenge of making the rewrites necessary to adapt to life’s unmatched ability to stray from the planed storyline while maintaining hope for a happily ever after. The Way We Rise is touching, smart, and utterly breathtaking; every bit the ending Houston and Rory deserved. In the first two books Houston’s sole focus has been on getting Rory back, but in this book we get to see a more mature and sympathetic man. Houston recognized the enormity of the events that had unfolded since he and Rory were reunited and he finally accepted the emotional significance of them. How he handles these challenges and the decisions he makes in their wake revealed so much about this character to the reader. Rory’s chance to grow as a character required her to face her family and eventually herself. Cassia Leo wrote Rory with a genuine vulnerability and understandable hesitancy that kept me feeling her struggle as she faced down the harsh realities of her world. Rory and Houston have a palpable connection that never fades. No matter what these two face, their undeniable chemistry and stunning connection continues to shine through, giving this series a magical quality that kept me enchanted. Authentic to the tone of this series, The Way We Rise was not without several unexpected twists. Rory and Houston’s story unraveled in some ways I had desperately hoped for and in others I couldn’t have guessed. I loved that even after everything our characters had already been through, The Way We Rise still managed to surprise me. Emotionally, this book hit me hard. I found myself crying happy tears at even the smallest moments of joy, feeling deeply relieved to find glimpses of light amongst the darkness. I found this feeling to be the true measure of success in terms of this book, its demonstration of how deeply I had connected with the characters and events in the first two books. The Way We Rise was deeply satisfying, not only providing resolution to our couple’s journey but also delivering an exciting and comforting look into the future in the epilogue. Cassia Leo has truly outdone herself with this book and the entire series, leaving me with a book hangover it’ll be hard to relieve.

The Way We Rise is the incredibly epic conclusion to Rory & Houston's story...and it's what made every painful moment absolutely worth it. It picks up right after The Way We Break's incredible ending and definitely answers THE question from The Way We Break. We get more of Hallie's story that is so incredibly important to so many choices that have been made along the way. No spoilers here - but you HAVE to read this series. It's so intense and incredible and....just wow. This series is an absolute masterpiece!

My husband asked me what I was so engrossed in reading last night and I told him the end of a three book series. That is a simple answer but doesn't due justice to the amazing story I just read. I was so touched by this story it made me laugh, cry and just fall in love with the characters. The best part was how real it was I feel like I just read my best friends story. There are so many wonderful parts in this book. I fell in love with Houston & Rory in book one and this book cemented them forever in my heart

he Way We Rise is the final conclusion to The Story of Us Series by the very talented Cassia Leo. Let me tell you Cassia Leo has done it yet again with this fantastic book! Houston and Rory's journey is one that you will want to read until the very end. This book starts off where the second book left us. The first page grabs you and hooks you into the story. I will give absolutely nothing away. However, I will say this...Houston and Rory's love is a roller coaster of emotion with lots of twist and turns along the way. In this third and final book, all your questions will be answered and you will find out if Houston and Rory can withstand the truths and secrets or if they are better separated. So take the journey and find out for yourself if love can withstand the test of time, or will it slowly wither away overtime. I highly recommend The Story of Us Series. An absolutely fantastic read!!! Five fantastic stars!!

This was the perfect ending to the series, as usual Cassia has written an amazing story that wraps up all loose ends and ties it all together in a nice neat bow, even throwing in a few heart stopping moments just to make sure you are still paying attention. As per my review from the first book, Hallie is still my favourite and this book only made me love her even more. Rory and Houston, not only grow as a couple but individually they become better people and together they can conquer anything I cannot wait to see what Cassia releases next

The Way We Rise is a great conclusion to the Story of Us series. Rory and Houston seem to have found their way back to each other only for Houston to suggest they try being friends. They have made mistakes and kept secrets, so Houston wants to take a different approach. They need to come to terms with the event that originally pushed them together and broke them. Their family and friends play key roles as secondary characters. The Way We Rise is emotional, with plenty of drama, angst, heat, and heart. The Way We Rise should only be read after reading The Way We Fall and The Way We Break. 4.5 stars *I received a copy in exchange for an honest review.
