Let there be n doubt every single star on this rating has been earned by this author. As the stories and escapades of Justice Sarah Wilde continues we get to know more about her and her high school years right before everything literally went up in smoke. Things that leave her and the council spinning to control the outcome, the exposure and the harm to innocents. Of course that's not the only thing that sends them in reaction mode. With natural disasters and connected under attack the last thing she needs to deal with is Burning Man and her High School reunion and that includes blast from the past. Don't trust anyone has never been truer as the Shadow Council shows their hand and she finds out just how betrayed she was and how much of her past was orchestrated. Oh and I'm just going to say this new man Mr. Magician has become definitely is keeping her off kilter and well us too. Loving this series!! I was so excited when I saw it appear I pushed everything else to the side. It's refreshing to know there are authors out there that you can always depend on to consistently provide reads that will keep you pumped up all the way from the beginning to the end. I love that these characters are always evolving not giving you the opportunity to get bored or for the tale to become redundant. Absolutely a fan.

A superb book that shows the further development of the wonderful characters while entrenching the readers to every word and wanting more. This series has the true making of being the next big Twilight series and would make a great TV series or movie. This is a must-read book.

There is so much to love about this book. Nazi treasures, favourite characters, a high school reunion, and Sara and the Magician walking the path of true love. Anything else is a spoiler! You will love it - buy it!

The Wayward Star is the fifth book in the Wilde Justice series and each book in the series keeps getting better! The book begins with Sara and Nigel Friedman recovering some Nazi artifacts at a fancy party in the Swiss Alps. Meanwhile, back at the Justice Library, Sara is receiving a lot more mail than usual. One item in particular piques Nikki's interests since it's an invitation for Sara to attend her ten year high school reunion, which is being held in Vegas. Sara has no interest in going, but of course it ends up being related to their recent issues and so not only does she have to go, but several members of the Arcana council attend as well. The Shadow Court is also active and the breadth of their activities is much deeper than originally thought. I really enjoyed this book! At first I wasn't too sure about the high school reunion aspect, but I ended up liking it. I also really enjoyed the interactions between Sara and Armaeus as they fall back in love with each other after he lost all his memories of her. I loved her realization that this has put them on equal footing, which was a big moment of growth for her. Nikki is her usual awesome self and Brody is great too. I'm really hoping for something awesome to happen to Brody in future books, he's definitely earned it. I really love this series and I enjoyed this book! Finally I received an ARC of the book in exchange for an honest review. It's a book I would have purchased on my own anyway and in no way influenced my opinion. I love this series and highly recommend it!

Jenn Stark's The Shadow Court, is the Fifth installment in the authors Wilde Justice series. One should have some familiarity of The Shadow Court before jumping into this book since they are connected. Tarot Card reading, artifact hunting, Justice of the Arcana Council, Sara Wilde is tasked with taking out the most dangerous magic-wielding criminals on the planet. But, since the discovery of The Shadow Court, Sara and the Arcana Council are now playing 150 years worth of catch-up. Which means that Sara is as busy as a porta potty at a chili eating contest trying to find answers. Other Key Characters: Nikki Dawes, Sara's BFF, Fashionista, ex-cop; LVMPD Detective Brody Rooks who has known Sara for over 10 years; Eshe, High Priestess of the Arcana Council; Lainie Grant blinded by pure magic, apprentice seer to Eshe; Armaeus Bertrand, Magician of the Arcana Council who lost all memories of Sara; Simon, tech wizard & Fool of the Arcana Council; Aleksander Kreios, The Devil of the Council; Viktor Dal, Emperor of the Council who nobody is sure if they can trust him or not considering his past history. As the story opens, Sara and Nigel Friedman are briefly back together after Sara accepts an invitation from an excessively rich psychic power couple Count Augustine Odermatts and his wife. Sara & Nigel are here searching for two things: Nazi artifact cubes that are radioactive. If triggered, they could create a metaphysical blast that would see untold numbers of Contecteds loose their abilities. According to Simon, a high number of connecteds are assembling storehouses of magical gadgets. Plus, there's a virtual who's who of connected glitterati at this party which means the Shadow Court may be here as well. If Sara can suss out the Shadow Courts allies, rivals, and nemesis, then maybe the Arcane Council has a fighting chance of taking them down. If Sara, as the face of the Council, can find allies from secretive ancient families who have been targeted by the Shadow Court for elimination but are now reaching out to the Arcane Council for help, they could stop their diabolical attempt at ridding the world of those who the Court believes are insignificant to hold magic. This story also spotlights Burning Man. For those like me who didn't know, Burning Man is an event held annually in the western US at Black Rock City, a temporary city erected in the Black Rock Desert of northwest Nevada, approximately 100 miles north-northeast of Reno. Sara is temporarily reunited with someone who she met as a 17-year old runaway after her foster mother was killed. It's all part of a larger, much grander scheme that the Shadow Court apparently has for Sara which goes back to when Sara helped find missing people with her tarot cards. If that weren't enough stress, Sara receives an invitation to her 10 year H.S. reunion. This feels like the perfect storm for Sara since none of her former classmates know anything about this new Sara who once was Sariah Pelter. Sara knows that if she doesn't attend, innocent people will be killed. It's clear as day that the Shadow Court is playing a game with Sara. They are showing off all the cards they are holding in an attempt to bring her down, or bring her to their side. As some of you might remember, most of this current trouble began when Sara awakened old, dormant magic while fighting the Gods who tried to break through the barrier keeping them from entering Earth. Although it hasn't been mentioned much lately, demons

I recieved this ARC in exchange for my honest review. I love the direction the Wilde Justice series has taken. While I loved Immortal Vegas, I feel that the character development and plot twists are better in this one. I was taken on an emotional roller coaster, laughing, crying, and everything in between. I love the small sub plots that are completed in each book. The cameos by characters from the previous series always tickle me, too. I quite enjoyed Tesla's dialogue, The Syx's part, and Eshe's greater role in this story. The direction Dal and the Magician are taking is brilliant. Over the course of both series, I feel as though I know the characters, they've become my friends and nemeses, and I'm fully invested. I can't wait for the next book in the series!

Great continuation of the story as Sara becomes more comfortable in her role as Justice. The author has also chosen to re-introduce the Magician who seems to have a more human element as opposed to the God-like complex from the beginning.........can't wait to read more about Sara and Armaeus' next adventure as they explore their newfound relationship. I liked that some of the characters from the earlier books were brought back into the story and I hope to see more in the coming books. Well done, Ms. Stark!

This is the 5th book in the Wild Justice series and it continues to grow the picture of all the characters by going in on the past. It's a fast story with sharp turns and it keeps you captured. It is a fascinating story that makes you wonder what is out there and for you to long for more. I simply love it!

The adventure continues! I sat thinking about this book after I finished it for some time, trying to discover just why these stories are just so very good. I think it's because Jenn Stark respects her readers. She doesn't lead us by the nose through the stories. She allows us the space to try and guess what is happening, builds the mystery and the tension. This story is no different. Unlike the other's though, this one does make me want to sit in her kitchen and bring her coffee until she gives me the next part of the story.. A deep breath before we are off again. This romance with the Magician is just epic. It's deep and confusing and the tension is delicious! He's as much a mystery as the rest of the story! And someday, I would love to read a story about Nikki and the Devil... Just sayin... I did receive an ARC of this story for review. Jenn's the only author I do this for...so worth it!

Another exciting book in the series. The story continues have more twists and turns--- showing process with solving issues that pop up, and leads you into the next book of the series>>>>leaving you wanting the next part of the story. This book also explains some of Sara's history, which helps develop the readers understanding of the characters. Good, quick read...waiting for more.

Jenn Stark nailed this one. I want to mention that Stark has a great sense of humor that you rarely see noticed in her reviews. Outside of all the fast-paced action and multifaceted characters, this author is funny...laugh out lout funny at times. Each book obviously has some twists but the one she threw us in The Hallowed Knight knocked us readers flat! The Wayward Star is starting to build us back up and I can't wait to see how she works things out in the upcoming books. WRITE FASTER!!!
