Thinking of Samson is a collection of short stories written over a period of two decades. They represent the wide variation of interests of the author, from materials that could be labeled “gay fiction,” to other narratives where the subject does not appear in any form. There is a deep mystery in many of these tales and an attention to the spiritual lives of the characters. Most of the tales are set in past time, from as far back as the early Twentieth Century, to the present. The reader is enveloped in an unusual world of angels and demons, of characters with human flaws and human perfection. The stories focus on human relationships and worlds where characters are not only pursing sex but also, searching for love.
