This Time Around by Mark A. Roeder

This Time Around follows Jordan and Ralph as they become involved in a struggle with Reverend Wellerson, a TV evangelist, over the fate of gay youth centers. Wellerson is willing to stop at nothing to crush gay rights and who better to halt his evil plans than the most famous rock star in the entire world? While battling Wellerson, Jordan seeks to come to terms with his own past and learn more about the father he never knew. The situation turns deadly when an assassin is hired and death becomes a real possibility for Jordan and those around him. Jordan is forced to face his own fears and doubts and the battle within becomes more dangerous than the battle without. Will Jordan be able to turn from the path of destruction, or is he doomed to follow in the footsteps of his father? This time around, things will be different.

This Time Around is the continuing story of the rock group Phantom and it's members. The very likable Jordan, Ross and Keiran. Jordan and his Boy friend Ralph are the central characters. I found that I couldn't put this book down until I read it to the end. I did take bathroom and food breaks. I hope when you read this you have a box of tissues handy. This is gay fantasy at it's best. Near the end of the book, I had so many tears in my eyes, that I had to wait twenty minutes before I could read the last chapter. For me to tell you what effected me in such a way, would spoil the book for you. I do however suggest that you read Do You Know I Love , also by Mark A Roeder, because This Time Around is A sequel to that book. It is GREAT as well. I might add that you read all the books in the Gay Youth Chronciles first, because some of the charaters in those are here too. It will enrich your enjoyment of This Time Around. I want to thank Mark A Roeder for writing such wonderful books, for gay youths and those of us who are a little beyond our youth. I am listing the books that make up the gay youth chronicles below for your reference. I have listed them in the order they should be read, but they all stand alone so if you want to read one or two it's fine. I can garuantee if you read one, you are going to want to read them all.

Out of all of the novels from The Gay Youth Chronicles this one is by far the best. All of Mark A. Roeder's books deal with real gay issues but this one takes it to the extreme. The in depth emotion in this novel will take you from sad tears to happiness and love in a matter of moments. It's a great and fast read for anyone. Whether gay or straight, man or woman this novel will steal your heart and run with it.

like many mark a. roeder's novel it is very touching. expresses what is really happening in the world about homosexuals. if you have read his other novels this really ties up to what happen to some of the characters in the previous novels.

This latest title in Mark Roeder's Gay Youth Chronicles series is without a doubt his best effort. His characters have been developed and polished until they have the depth and resonance of real people. The issues the characters tackle are those that are most important to gay people just beginning to deal with their sexuality, regardless of what age that occurs, but will be especially helpful to gay teens who in the reality of our world don't usually have a 'Gay Youth Center' to help them. Thoughts of suicide, loneliness, sex and exclusivity in relationships, and handling issues of religion and homosexuality are all dealt with in a positive and authoritative way. You'll laugh, you'll cry, you'll love Jordan, Ralph, and their friends. Don't wait, get this book today!
