Thursday Nights by Lisa N. Paul is the first book in her Charistown series. Where do I begin? This entire book, from beginning to last page was phenomenal. Each and every character in the story draws you in and leaves you wanting to know more. Charistown is where they live and sounds like a really nice place to be. Especially cram packed full of hot sexy men. The girls are nothing to sneer at either. each of them is damaged in their own unique way but not one of them is weak and together, as friends, they are strong enough to weather anything. Max and Janie are the focus of this first book and they've both had it rough. Max's wife, Chloe, left him the day she told him she was pregnant with another man's child. The man was the last in a long line of affairs. I say last because after Chloe left Max in her dust they got into a car accident and she and the baby were both killed. Tragic, dark AND twisty. Max has sworn off commitment ever since, choosing to stick to mutual one night stands for the past seven years. Until Janie... Janie's had her own share of a tragically sad past. Suffering neglect as a child and constantly caring for her mother in between her mother's boyfriends has taken it's emotional toll on her. In college she meets Lyla who is even more damaged than Janie - together the two become as close as sisters and managed to pull each other up out of the darkness. Every Thursday Night Janie & Lyla go to Danny's pub where Max works and Janie's and Max's chemistry finally bubbles over and they try to have a friends (who have sex) night to try and get each other out of their systems. And this is where the story gets going... To the author, Lisa N. Paul, I feel a kinship to you as I too DEVOURED every single Sweet Valley High book I could get my hands on growing up. I always wished I could be called Jessica, or that at least my name (also Lisa) really was short for Elizabeth. Anyway, thanks for an awesome book full of awesome people. I cannot wait to read more.

I liked this book enough to buy the second one. I like the characters although got very tired of Janie crying all the time. I love the family these characters have created together.

This was a very enjoyable book. You can relate to the characters in this book. Looking forward to the next book to continue the story line that was developed in this book. Love that you have people from different walks of life and different ages. Everyone has secrets and things in their life they would rather not share- so this is a book most people can relate to.

This is a cute story that is based on a daily small town and revolves around a group of friends. All of which have secrets, some more tragic then the next. I really enjoyed now the story and the characters were great. The pov in this book had me confused a couple times and done of the grammatical errors hindered the to lie just a bit. But over all I really enjoyed it and I'm looking forward to the rest of the series.

The Charistown series books have become one of my favorite series, with Thursday Night’s the first in the series.   The series is about a group of people who met through a common association with a neighborhood bar called Danny’s on Main.  Yet really it is a story of family.  Sometimes dysfunctional, sometimes at odds, but always with the love that comes from finding those people who may not be family by blood, but are truly a family by loving, and truly caring about each other. Thursday’s Nights, we meet Janie and Layla, as they meet at Danny’s for their weekly girls night out.   The book is mostly about Max and Janie and the story of how the chemistry (Hot passionate combustible and sexy) they have, ultimately leads to them both finding each other, but finding, and healing themselves in the process.  Lisa N Paul writes story’s with characters are rich and tangible, that you like despite that may seem to be somewhat broken and flawed. While the main story of her books revolve around a couple, she writes in such a way that each character becomes an interracial part of each book, and with each book you like the entire family of Danny’s on Main, more and more and more…The Charistown series far more than just a SEXY HOT READ… and yes they are that also.

If all you really care about is the smut, then have at it. The ending was kind of partly random. There are some grammatical errors and typos. The main thing I have against it in general is the plot and how it's written. The concept isn't so bad as it's more the execution. I felt like I was reading about teenagers for some of this. I also felt that there wasn't a proper sense in time. It would seem like maybe days had passed and then you find out it's been maybe a night and it didn't blend well. Also the main guy is 37 years old. Supposedly he has been single for 7 years after being married for 20 years.... that would place him around 10 for getting married. Maybe that is small and nothing to some people but I personally find it distracting.

Friendship to Partnership, trust and love ... Thursday Nights gives you an amazing cast of characters from different walks of life that have come together to form a family. They all met at Danny's on Main. Janie and Lyla are the newest to the group - 2 women that met in college and formed a sisterly bond, something neither had enjoyed in their past. Max is one of the bartenders and is attracted from Janie at the beginning but Max is broken. Sadly a very sick woman warped his perception of himself and who he really is. The camaraderie between Janie, Lyla, Max, Julie, Danny, Ashley, Ryan and Kyle is wonderful to experience - there is real love between everyone as they all traverse this crazy world we live in. It all felt very real. Of course Max and Janie decide to try a "friends with benefits" night and from there the real story unfolds as both have to deal with issues from their past to figure out what can really happen in their present and future. Ah Max, totally dreamy. His best friend Sebastian is pretty spectacular too, hoping we learn more about him in book 2. No cliff hanger but am looking forward to learning more about the other characters in the next book.

Janie and Lyla both have troubled family pasts, but they have found a new family in Charistown, PA. The crew at Danny's on Main bar are the loving family that both girls never had. Every Thursday night the two girls head to the bar to hand out with their new friends. Max has enjoyed getting to know Janie over the past 6 months while bartending at Danny's. But no matter how much he wants her, he doesn't do relationships anymore. His former witch of a wife took care of that for him. Will an incredible night of "sex with friends" ruin Janie's and Max's friendship? Or can Janie break down the walls that Max has built around his heart? This book is fun and sexy and I loved all of the supporting characters not just Janie and Max. There is a crazy amount of angst as we watch Max struggle with his feelings. Why does the guy always hurt the girl before he realizes what he had? Men are so frustrating. I enjoyed their journey and I am looking forward to more books in this series. The title of book 2 is Storm Front, though there are no other details available yet. I'm really hoping this will be Lyla's and Sebastian's story.

Lisa has managed to do what I love in Erotic romance.  Thursday Nights is not just another 'smut' book.  In fact, the story in itself is such a good one that if you wiped all the steamy sex scenes out- it would still be a great book!  I think in an erotic romance, that says enough right there. We come into this book with Janie & Lylia's  Thursday night tradition of going to Danny's on Main where they drink and make guys nervous.  From boob grabbing to very vocal discussions of sex, all the guys are in various stages of embarrassment & arousal.   Not only has the bar become a tradition of fun for the girls, they have also found a family within.   One night, Janie & Max take it to the next step which is perfect and horrible all in one.   I loved so much the family that they have built.  Everyone has their own secrets and problems yet they accept one another for who they are and love each other no matter what.   While this book focuses mainly on Janie & Max, we are also introduced to many other characters and are given small windows into their lives that make you yearning for the next in the series so you can find out more.  I, personally, am waiting for Lylia & Gage's story..   This is a top-notch beginning to a series!  I think you'll love it, whether you are an erotic fan or just a romance fan!  Give it a chance! :)

Words. Some words are used to describe how we see, think or feel. Words can make us feel sad, mad, angry, confused. Others bring feelings of happiness, joy and love. Love. It is the one thing we will all fight to the death for when our loved ones are involved. Sometimes words are not enough to express our love. Janie hasn't seen much love in her life. She and her best friend Lyla haven't had the best luck when it comes to love. Fortunately they found their “family” in the friends they've met at Danny’s bar. Thursday Nights is their night to hang out with the owners and employees at Danny’s. For months they had their weekly appointment at Danny’s and made friendships that were stronger than some family bonds.  Max Delucca is a bartender at Danny’s and has been a “friend” to Janie from the beginning. One Thursday night fate steps in and Janie and Max find themselves with the opportunity to take things to a different level. “Words, Janie, I need words.” I L-O-V-E-D this book! I had found that I was picking books that were alike and not getting the tingly sensation that I love to get when I discover a book that stirs feelings within me. This book was different. The story isn't predictable. It was refreshing to have the sense of anticipation as I devoured each and every word. I found myself saying… “More, Max, I need more.” So let’s go down the checklist for a great book. 1. Max is a man’s man who I would guess could hang with just about anyone. When he falls, he falls hard. (Ah-h sighs) I love alpha males that fall hard for their lady loves. Their protective nature is so appealing but with that sense of strength there is such tenderness and care. 2. Love the unpredictability of the story. It was fresh but familiar all the same. I found myself struggling with screaming at the kindle, “Take a step!” 3. I would absolutely buy this again for its refreshing take on the alpha male style book. 4. This is the first book of The Charistown Series. I love a HEA and this one doesn't disappoint. But I don't think Janie and Max’s story ends here. By the end of the epilogue I loved how I felt my tension ease about whether or not this was going to give me my HEA. 5. Max was not a Neanderthal type male but his no nonsense way of communicating his intentions made my panties melt! Possessive, protective and his unique wooing skills all rolled up into one hot-ass man.  I can't wait to read “Storm Front” the second book in this series. I can't wait to hear whose story is going to be told next from the gang from Danny’s.
