Touching Paradise by Cleo Peitsche

Despite his billions in the bank, Koenraad is a shark shapeshifter haunted by secrets and regrets. Unable to move on with his life, he relentlessly patrols the waters near the island he once considered home. Fate puts the beautiful Monroe in his path, and duty demands he offer his services, but one look into her eyes and he knows the lonely, frightened woman secretly yearns for adventure.

Monroe is having a hard time getting into the vacation spirit. She's surrounded by powdery white sand and swaying palm trees, but she's terrified of the ocean. When her tour boat breaks down at sea, she's thrilled to skip the so-called trip of a lifetime. However, a gorgeous man with a sleek yacht is determined to change her mind... and maybe her life.

About the Author

If Cleo isn't writing (or reading!) erotica, she's probably sitting on her balcony, watching the wind blow through the trees. She loves horses, snowstorms, and piña coladas. If she won the lottery, she would hire an assistant to take care of the technical side of publishing so that she could write all day.

Some random facts about Cleo:
1. Thinks life's too short to forgo HEAs and HFNs.
2. Sprained an ankle joining the mile-high club. (Never again!)
3. Favorite writers include Cormac McCarthy, Junot Diaz and Rachel Caine.
4. Gets weak-kneed for bookish guys who know how to fix things with their hands. *swoons*

Not even a real HFN. I say stopped instead of ending because that's what happens, it doesn't end. She walks into a room and... nothing more. That's it. There are way too many things left up in the air. I got this book for free, and how it stopped ticked me off; I can only imagine how mad I would be if I had paid for it.

I loved this book. I've been looking for a, GREAT shark shifter book for years. The author describes everything really well, and there's actually some shifting going on, not just "I'm a shifter, trust me. I just won't shift at all in this book" crap lol. Steamy sex too! Only negative, is the sudden cut off in the book. After they have sex in his home, she goes out to talk to him and the book just stops. It's like when your driving and you go over a cliff....but you don't realize it until a few moments later.....

Overall I really liked the series but each book was not very many pages for the amount of money you spend. Would have been better if it came in a set for a much more decent price. I think there could have been much more detail in the story. There is so much more that could have been written and seems that some things just get left hanging .

I always wondered if there were marine shifter stories so I'm glad I found this one. I found this book refreshing and new from your typical wolf and bear shifter stories. While it was a good story and quick read, I agree with everyone else, the story competely just ends. Such a bizarre ending and yes it's somewhat of a cliffhanger.

I liked the story but was sad that it was a cliffhanger

But too short. I didn't like how it just ends, wanting you to buy the next book.

I was really intrigued when I read the hero was a shark shifter. A Great White shark as a matter of fact. The heroine seems to be ok with it at one moment and the scared of him the next. Will continue reading this series to see where it goes.

The first couple of books would have been 5 stars, but as a series I have some complaints. ....very repetitive, same issues being delt with over and over with maybe a small twist in each new book. Also I think they are really expensive for such short books. All atound 150 pages or less. Better to combine them give the reader a longer more involved story. Not sad I read them, a shark shifter us a whole new twist, but not sure I'll look for the next one...which is sad cuz I did enjoy the concept just not reading about the same problems multiple times.
