Rating: 3 1/2 Stars This book has a really good premise. Friends to lovers or, as in this case, enemies to lovers is always a good read. However, I really didn't connect to Rube, the main character, and I also didn't fully believe in the idea of her crush/wannabe romance as there didn't seem to be any real sexual/romantic tension in play. I enjoyed the inclusion of the dating app idea, and believe her dating failures could have been extended. I wanted more failed first dates! Ms MacIntosh really succeeded in giving her novel a chatty, conversational tone, the there was a little too much gratuitous f-bombing for me, and I struggled a bit with the present tense point of view. All in all, though this was a cute story and I enjoyed the Leeds setting. There s also an enticing excerpt for another of the author's books, Drive Me Crazy, which I will be taking a closer look at. I received a free copy of this book from NetGalley in return for an honest review.
