About the Author

Eileen Jones began teaching in 1976. In the early years of her teaching career, she worked in primary schools, teaching French to children between 8 and 11. Later she specialised in teaching English and French to children aged 11 and over. During the latter half of her time as a teacher, her focus shifted again to younger pupils. In 2000, Eileen retired from front-line teaching to begin a new career that untied her two great passions and skills sets... teaching language and teaching primary school children. As the prolific writer of books, articles, plays, and teaching resources, Eileen has now become one of the UK's most progressive thinkers and practitioners in the areas of primary and language education.
