Overview

Savage man, loner, warrior... I am dangerous at my core. I have lived amidst the untamed wild of the rainforest, in a society that reveres me and where every woman falls before me in subjugation.

Now I've been discovered. Forced to return to a world that I have forgotten about and to a culture that is only vaguely familiar to my senses.

Dr. Moira Reed is an anthropologist who has been hired to help me transition back into modern society. It's her job to smooth away my rough edges... to teach me how to navigate properly through this new life of mine. She wants to tame me.

She'll never win.

I am wild, free and raw, and the only thing I want from the beautiful Moira Reed is her submission.

She wants it, I am certain.

I will give it to her soon.

Yes, very soon, I will become the teacher and she will become my student. And when I am finished showing her body pleasure like no other, she'll know what it feels like to be claimed by an uncivilized man.

About the Author

Since the release of her debut contemporary romance novel, Off Sides, in January 2013, Sawyer Bennett has released more than 30 books and has been featured on both the USA Today and New York Times bestseller lists on multiple occasions.

A reformed trial lawyer from North Carolina, Sawyer uses real life experience to create relatable, sexy stories that appeal to a wide array of readers. From new adult to erotic contemporary romance, Sawyer writes something for just about everyone.

Sawyer likes her Bloody Mary's strong, her martinis dirty, and her heroes a combination of the two. When not bringing fictional romance to life, Sawyer is a chauffeur, stylist, chef, maid, and personal assistant to a very active toddler, as well as full-time servant to two adorably naughty dogs. She believes in the good of others, and that a bad day can be cured with a great work-out, cake, or a combination of the two.
Sawyer is the author of several contemporary romances including the popular Off Series, the Legal Affairs Series and the Last Call Series.

This is not your typical Tarzan/Untamed Forest Raised boy story. This is a story of a man and woman that come from different traditional thinking and how they come together without losing their core beliefs. Can a jungle warrior and a polished educated woman met in the middle? Yes, they can. One hot encounter after another. Besides the fun factor of reading this genre from a favored author, it really got me to thinking. What is normal? I am often ‘judged’ by what I read. But if this is all I know then is it wrong? I think not. Sawyer Bennett has to peek into one person’s norm isn’t always bad or uncivilized. This story could have taken an unbelievable turn, but the author did her research keeping it grounded and not fanciful.

So I don't know what I expected from this book but I loved it. Zach is an insatiable animal. I simply adore Sawyer Bennett and all her writing. Thank you Sawyer for writing a strong independent heroine. Thank you!!!! It has been awhile since I have read a strong heroine and Moira fits the bill. This story was so different than your usual Contemporary, sure you have your lust, sex and love but instead of tons of insecurities, it's about growth and evolution. For Zach, he had so much loss and change in his life. At 26, he finds himself living within an indigenous tribe for the last 18 years, after his missionary parents unexpectedly die leaving him in the amazon by himself. After awhile the tribes takes him in and he becomes part of them to only years later to have that taken away as well. Finding out that his godfather wants him back to the states is making him mad, because he doesn't want to leave what he knows as his way of living. For Moira it's her job to take Zach home to the states, but she can't stop being drawn to his sensual dominant being. Even though Zach is mad especially at the flame haired goddess, he still can't help to be drawn to her. He shouldn't be because she is everything opposite of what he thought he wants in a woman. Moira helps Zach find his way in the states and tries to deny his sexual curiosity but in the end gives in to this sexual being. Zach and Moira have a instant sexual connection but they both have a lot to learn. Sure there was more sex than story at times or maybe the story was sex but in the end I still loved. It was refreshing and sexy. Zach and Moira have to find a way to meet in the middle of this modern world and his more simplistic ways. They both have to learn to compromise their beliefs in order to match what their hearts desires. It was a sexy, yet still a sweet book that I definitely recommend.

'I've come to crave his uncivilized nature.' Moira Minor spoilers alert!!! I love the synopsis for this book. It’s so dead on. This novel just totally delivers what’s promised in the synopsis to the nth degree. ‘I may have a little work still to do where she’s concerned, but I’ll have her bowing down before me soon…and she’ll be begging me for it.’ Zach I loved that Zach retains his alpha male personality while re-acclimating to life in the Western world. It also gives him an excuse to shock the hell out of Dr. Moira Reed at every available opportunity, creating some sexy and downright cheeky moments between them. But Moira is no push over. I liked that she had an internal battle to remain professional while assisting in Zach’s transition and documenting his progress before eventually giving in to their hella strong sexual attraction.  “Want me to show you everything I learned today, Moira? Let me put into practice what I saw on that computer?” My body is screaming “yes” but I still shake my head “no.”  “We can’t. It’s not appropriate.” … The look on Zach’s face is impassable. He’s drawing a line in the sand with me and if I don’t give him something, he’ll leave, and then I’ll have failed Randall. I’ll lose my grant. I’ll lose Zach. Before I can stop myself, I ask, “You just want to watch me. No touching?” “Just let me watch,” Zach says in a low voice, and he licks his lips in anticipation. “It will be a true learning lesson for me." These two are so combustible together that a more intimate relationship proves inevitable. Watching them sink further into each other was a delight. As they continue to take in cultural activities and have long talks about random topics, Moira realizes that they share more than great chemistry. She is in serious danger of having her heart broken. Zach has issues of control and self identity to work through that complicates a happily ever after for them. Despite his growing closeness with Moira, he feels that returning to Paraila, his adoptive Amazonian father, is the only viable future for him. The Caraican culture that Zach grew up loving from 8 years old into adulthood was fascinating and so wildly different from our own Western civilization. He'd fought hard to win the respect of his tribe by hunting, protecting and even killing when necessary. Walking away from that and the simplicity of that existence was understandably hard for an alpha male like him. I could understand his desire to return to a world in which his daily contributions made the difference between life and death, so vastly dissimilar to his modern seemingly frivolous existence back in the US. Ultimately, his growing relationship with Moira is the key to changing all that. "Nothing means as much to me as you, Moira. Not Caraica, Paraila, not the tribe. It's you. It will only ever be you." Zach I loved witnessing Zach’s perceptions about his future alter so dramatically. It certainly helped that he had Randall, his wonderful godfather who insisted on helping with his plans to stay in Moira’s life and forge a new future – one without deadly anacondas and attacks from other Amazonian tribes, of course!  We get a nice epilogue that catches up with this sexy couple at the end of Zach’s freshman year of college. Hello office lunch time sex scene – wink! I loved getting one last look at their customary humor and sexiness together and having a glimpse at where their future was headed.

I love Sawyer Bennett's books, but I wasn't sure about the whole 'dominate male' storyline, mainly because I feel it's over done and over admired. However, Ms. Bennett gives us a storyline that's unusual...exciting...and an alpha male who is capable of so much more than the usually annoying, arrogant dominant (my take on those bossy guys!). Zach and Moira are likeable characters, hot and sexy together, and you just want them to work out! Their struggles...Zach's pull toward his adopted family, and Moira's career...are well written and you will end up reading this book like I did, almost nonstop.

3.5 stars — Well, I can honestly say this was not what I was expecting… I was expecting a more straight up erotica, but we really got a lot more depth in this story. And I think it made for a better story in the end. But at the same time I seem to still be plagued by distraction while reading, so I had a hard time staying absorbed. Not sure if it was the book, b/c I have lots of good things to say, or just the mood I’m in…I’ll likely give the book the benefit of the doubt and round up. I was actually really interested watching Zach adjust to “the modern world”, and deal with his expanding feelings for Moira…especially when it seems like romantic love was not a concept that his tribe subscribed to. His journey throughout the story kind of fascinated me. Now, I’m not sure how realistic it all was…sometimes I would wonder at how he knew some things but didn’t know others, but I decided not to overthink it and just enjoy the story for what it was without getting wrapped up in the details. There were times I wasn’t sure I would like his character. He…well, I don’t know. He’s exactly as the title suggests, but part of this “uncivilized nature” is that he’s been instilled with, almost, a different set of values. I was a bit uncomfortable with the sexual roles of men and women in his tribe. It’s kind of a difficult thing to read about as someone from a Western world. It made me think about consent, if nothing else. And he teetered on this line with Moira as well. Now, obviously, we know she did consent from being inside her head…but the way a few of their encounters played out were on the line. The thing I appreciate about actual BDSM (if it’s done right, as far as I understand it), is that there is clear, written consent, things are agreed upon beforehand, and there is a manner to stop things. That’s not what happened in this book. I don’t have bad feelings, it just made me think is all. And that kind of went off on a tangent, whoops. Anyways, my heart did hurt for Zach watching him struggle with his past and all the feelings that coming back to the US brought out in him. I enjoyed the fact that his story was more than just the sex and romance…we explored what his role in modern society would be, and how he would feel value. I found that interesting. I also really appreciated Zach’s changing relationship with Randall. It could have gone black and white, but Randall was truly an interesting character in his own right. I actually really liked Moira as well, even as she contributed to my heavy thinking about the consent issue. She seemed genuinely caring and empathetic towards Zach’s situation, and tried really hard not to push her own desires on to him, but to try to see his journey from his perspective. And she could be feisty and give as good as she got when pushed. As for their relationship…it was kind of a fun ride, b/c it started out heavily in lust, and we did actually get to see feelings develop on both sides. I felt those feelings, I believed them. I’m usually not one for sex without emotions, so I enjoyed their later encounters more than their initial ones. All in all this book made me think, I just might not have been quite in the right frame of mind to enjoy it to its fullest.

Like I did. This story is so-so. But if you like the submissive angle and really explicit sex, than go for it.
