About the Author

Larry Anderson is a former police officer with the Portland Police Bureau. He is currently the CEO of a non-profit whose aim is to attract capital and business opportunities for people of color. He is also a mentor with Boys2Men.

Wendell Birkland was a deputy district attorney for Multnomah County for several years before starting his own criminal defense firm. He was a Sunday school teacher for more than fifteen years and remains active in groups such as Portland Business Luncheons and the National Prayer Breakfast.
